Story
Turtle is such a good boy, he’s loving and sweet. He’s so gentle despite his size. He loves meeting new people and going places. He’s completely potty trained and will listen to what you say. Super food motivated. Does not like to be confined but does well on his own if left loose in the home. He is not crate trained and gets anxiety if confined. He is great with cats, has limited experience with children but hasn’t had any problems so far. He doesn’t know he’s big so he does jump on people. He will follow you around and is just a great companion. Does get car sick so may need something to contain any mess while being transported. He is an indoor dog, does not like to spend much time outdoors alone, he’s fine if you’re with him though. He loved to play, anything that squeaks and rope toys. He’s also perfectly content just hanging out and sleeping all day. He’s happy to play or happy to nap.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Draco is a smart, loving guy who loves cuddles, pets, treats, and playing. He can be timid at first with both adults and kids but with some patience, he warms up to all and shows his goofy side. This pretty boy can be anxious around new dogs and will bark at them, but with proper introductions he has gotten along with some dogs and loves to play with them. His previous  owner could not care for him anymore, and a family agreed to temporary have him. Since then, he has quickly picked up training and is learning to walk on a leash without pulling. He is house-trained and knows sit, down, wait, leave it, off, and out (as in get out). At only 2 years old he has his hyper moments, as every teenager ;) He'll need someone patient as he continues to learn manners and be able to play with him to get some of his energy out. He will thrive with someone active and who can be a firm leader to him. He will make the perfect dog with daily practice, patience, and plenty of love! He is up to date with vaccines and still needs to be neutered.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 16, 2024, 8:13 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Hazel is a sweet fuzzy girl that loves her people.  Her happiest time is cuddling up on a couch and she just adores children. Hazel had a rough start to life.  She was saved from a situation where she was suffering abuse-sadly her brother was intentionally poisoned and she sustained an injury to spinal cord that causes an abnormal gait.  However, she seems happy and is not in any pain.   Given this, Hazel has a lot of trust to learn and has much anxiety.  While she is calm and sweet when her family is around, she panics and cries when left in the crate.  She would do best in a home where someone was often home.   We are seeing whether anxiety medication will help her calm down, but it may just take time for her to learn that she is safe and doesn't need to cry for help. Although she has never bitten another dog or person, Hazel has a very protective bark until she is properly introduced to a dog - or- that new person gives her treats.  The bark may be off-putting to those who meet her, but we are working to broaden her experiences and help her learn trust. A big part of what we do in this rescue is rehabilitation.  Hazel is a great example of how foster care takes a dog in crisis and provides her with the love, calm setting, and space to learn trust and that everything will be 'ok'. Anyone interested in adopting Hazel would be encouraged to first do some play dates with her so she gets used to new people.   Hazel is housetrained and is learning to walk on the leash.  She will be spayed before adoption.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 16, 2024, 8:13 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Meet Sweet Elsa! Elsa was rescued from a neglect situation and is a wonderfully forgiving, fun, and friendly dog. She loves to play, sleep on couches, and run around with stuffed animals. Due to the nature of her breed, Elsa is very smart and a wonderful problem solver. She is getting better at pulling (or not pulling). She loves to chase squirrels and bunnies! (Hold on!) We do not know how Elsa is around cats but she’s very friendly with other dogs – including her foster brother terrier, who is a curmudgeon. Elsa has a great sense of humor and is always in a good mood! Elsa also loves snacks, cookies, and her dinner. In fact, Elsa has probably never met a dinner she didn't like. That being said, Elsa can be a bit of a piggy with eating any dinners left over from her housemates and has taken tasty tid bits out of the garbage can. But she is not aggressive or mean spirited with food sharing, though. Elsa appears to be housebroken and knows how to use a doggy door at her foster home. She is generally trustworthy in the house (see the comment about tasty tidbits in the garbage can) and has not been crated since her first week at her foster’s house.  Typical to the German Shepherd breed, Elsa is a very loyal partner to her person - if you are her person, she will want to be with you, no matter what you're doing! Working in the garden? She wants to be in the garden with you!  Fixing a light in a tight space? She’s right there. Taking a shower? Elsa will keep you company there, too. She is not overly protective with other household members – just wants to be with her person.  Elsa loves to go for car rides and loves to walk in the woods or on a trail. She is a enthusiastic participant in "walkies" any time of day or night.  She is getting better at pulling (or not pulling) on the lead and is learning to yield to pressure. She loves to chase squirrels and bunnies, so sometimes she will forget those manners! We do not know how Elsa is around cats but she’s very friendly with other dogs – including her foster brother terrier who is not playful at all. Elsa is heartworm positive and is currently being treated using the slow-kill method with topical and oral meds and is otherwise completely healthy!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 16, 2024, 8:13 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Hi there! I'm Bex, a smart and sweet-natured dog with a gentle demeanor. I do have some quirks, though don't we all?) —I struggle with separation anxiety and really dislike being alone. To help me manage, I take fluoxetine daily for general anxiety and occasionally trazodone. I'm not a fan of crates, and being at doggy daycare can get me pretty worked up. However, I generally get along well with other dogs and kids, though I prefer slow introductions. While I don't show aggression towards children, I would definitely thrive in a home without young ones around.  I'm a working dog, I NEED a job to do. Protecting my people is my favorite one, but the more work you send my way the happier I'll be! I would do best with someone who can be around a lot, like someone who works from home full-time or is retired. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will thrive with your constant company, I might just be the perfect match for you!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 16, 2024, 8:13 pm

Story
l adopted Niko when he was only 1.5 years old. He has been great with other pets however he is a reactive dog. Some things scare him and when he is scared he can get protective of himself. My pet is reactive as in he gets scared of certain things or random movements of other people and can get aggressive. He also has authority issues with other people who I live with and can randomly challenge them only when I am not home. Niko is looking for a new home preferably no kids due to his unexpected agression). He is generally not aggressive at all it comes out very randomly and it is never towards me (his main owner) but always towards my roomates or other people. He needs someone who can give him the time, exercise, and the training. I believe the right owner would be someone who can establish authority with him who is experienced with big dogs. Back yard or a place for him to run would be ideal My work schedule does not allow me to hold him anymore as I tend to travel and not be home for
