Story
My pet Cairo is a great dog! I adopted him from the “puppy resume people” back in 2021 and had him since he was 8 weeks old. He is potty trained and knows how to go to the door when he has to go. He loves to play and is very alert. He eats 4 cups of food a day. He has had the same veterinarian since birth. Cairo is used to being walked and played with. My husband lost his job and it’s been hard to maintain Cairo’s lifestyle. I hope to find a family that he can bond with that will continue to love him as we have.

She loves getting love from her human family, nice brushing, or just playing with her toys or fury friends. She is crate trained, potty trained, and just a sweet overall companion. She enjoys her doggie friends (males only) and is cat friendly as well:) Blondie has really come out of her shell in her time with C2CND. She came in the rescue nervous and not used to household noises to now happy go lucky dog ready to play. Story
Meet Millie May! Quick Facts: Breed: German Shepherd mix Estimated Birthday: 12/11/2022 Size: roughly 80lbs Meet Millie May, the girl who has it all - funny, friendly, athletic, curious, and smart! (They do say that variety is the spice of life.) Millie May is a happy, healthy adult dog who loves to play, explore, and make new friends. Whether it's playing with toys or finding the best spot for a tummy rub, Millie May is always game. If you're looking for a fun-loving, curious, and cuddly companion, look no further - Millie May is the girl for you! Here's to many happy adventures together! Millie May loves a good car ride, chewing on bones & has recently discovered the art of swimming. She is a goofy girl, but maintains her sweet nature while proving how incredibly smart she is through training! She is very food motivated & we encourage her adoptive family to utilize this to invest in obedience training. She does know "sit", "down" & is working on "stay". She can be protective of her favorite bone with other dogs in the home, but is easily redirected with another bone or toy she likes. Millie May has done well with the cat in the home and doesn't pay him any attention. She has not resided with a child, but is a still a big puppy at heart with lots of energy to burn. She sometimes knocks things over & sometimes her feet forget how to feet, and that may include bulldozing children who are less on the durable side. Millie May is crate trained and mostly house trained, she has occasional accidents. Before emailing- please read: - Yes, this dog is available for adoption - The adoption fee for Millie May is $265 - Apply at c2cnd.org - The adoption fee covers their age appropriate shots, microchip, deworming, spay/neuter, and any other medical expenses while in our care. - Local adopters only. Story
Quick Facts: Age: 1.5 years (born June 28, 2022) Size: 70lbs Breed: Purebred German Shepherd Lovo came to the rescue at 5 months old after he suddenly lost all movement in his back legs and was set to be euthanized. Lovo has been with us for over the past year, and through the tireless work of his foster mom, he has made amazing strides. Lovo has also been recently diagnosed with Addison's disease. While Lovo is still unable to walk, he does use a wheelchair, and you will see that cute, rambunctious puppy come out! He loves Balls. Squeaky toys. Squeaky balls. Just the Squeaky if you let him. Playing with dogs. Wheelchair walks. Getting the mail. Due to his medical condition, he does have accidents from time to time. He loves other dogs but doesn’t realize how big he is. Lovo also would love to chase and play with cats, but thankfully, he cannot. Lovo is also your on-call fake guard dog… He barks but is a giant baby… sometimes even a rotten baby. One of his fun tricks is spilling his water just for funsie. He actually picks up the bowl and pours it on himself. He thinks he is the funniest dog since AirBud and Marley (Marley and me). Special Needs: He does have a sensitive tummy and requires prescription food. He will need daily prednisone and monthly shots at a vet's office. He currently goes to physical therapy, and continued physical therapy is expected of his future family. Lovo is a truly amazing dog with so much heart, but not for the faint of heart. He will require that very special and patient family. Before emailing- please read: - Yes, this dog is available for adoption - The adoption fee for Lovo is $365 - Apply at c2cnd.org - The adoption fee covers their age appropriate shots, microchip, deworming, spay/neuter, and any other medical expenses while in our care. - Local adopters only. Story
Adoption Application: bit.ly/C2CND_App Quick Facts Breed: German Shepherd mix Age: 3 years old Size: Currently 50#, but slightly underweight - could stand to gain 5-10#. House-Trained & Crate trained Poco, a mixed breed boy who landed himself in the pound when he was seized from his ”home”. Now his home was the local pound and he was on death row which means he could be killed at any moment likely due to lack of space. (Let me remind you this is NOT the fault of the shelter workers, or volunteers - this is the fault of the trash that treated him like he was nothing more than worthless property). Poco was severely neglected and nearly starved to death. He weighed under 30 pounds when he first entered the system, he was skin and bones. Poco is visually impaired but we don’t know to what extent he can see and we don’t know what caused the issues with his eyes. We brought him into our rescue reassuring him that he is safe now and we will find him the most wonderful family who will treat him like a king. We could tell he was leary and almost a little shut down but we are here to help him overcome any obstacles. -Poco is visually impaired. Do not know extent. - He is learning the outdoors in a fenced yard. He requires a fenced in yard in his forever home due to his visual impairments. -He is currently learning steps and loves to be outside in the sun with his person. -We are currently in the process of introducing to different dogs and is doing great so far! -He does walk on a leash, the use of a halter with a grab handle is useful. Due to his vision impairment the handle halter helps to guide him safely. -He just needs sufficient time to settle into new surroundings. -He has not been tested with Cats. - Due to his previous life, he would do best eating separately as he may steal other dogs food. -He is a gentle soul that simply needs time to bloom. But he is worth every effort! Before emailing- please read: - Yes, this dog is available for adoption - The adoption fee for Poco is $265 - Apply at c2cnd.org - The adoption fee covers appropriate shots, microchipping, heartworm testing, deworming, spay/neuter, and any other medical expenses while in our care. - Our application process includes: a virtual home visit, veterinary record check (please call vet to release current/previous pet records), and a rent check (to make sure pets/breeds are welcomed). Please allow 5-7 business days to finalize the application process. - Local adopters only. Due to us finalizing adoptions at adopter's home, we limit our adoptions to local families in the greater Charlotte area. - If you have any additional questions, email us at dogs@c2cnd.org and we will respond as soon as possible!

Story
Auberon Breed: German Shepherd Gender: Male Estimated Birthday: 12/4/2023 Current Weight: 28 Pounds Expected Adult Weight: 50-90 Pounds House & Crate Trained: Work in Progress Adoption Fee: $465 --============================= Gosh, just look at those eyes - what love! I’m Auberon, a very active, smart and people-oriented German Shepherd or Belgian Malinois puppy. Right now I weigh 28 pounds and I’ll grow up to be 50-90 pounds. I’m doing lots of puppy things like chasing & chewing on toys, and playing (using my mouth - I’m learning manners). I’m a fast learner. I’ve got a lot of energy now and with my breed, that’ll continue, so I’d love an active home. Once I’m grown, I’ll need a 6-foot tall fence. I like mentally challenging toys like food puzzles and I’m great at catching on to commands. I love being with people, laying by your feet, following you around. If I’m with you, I’m happy. I’m good with other dogs and cats, and I like wrestling with my sister Adelina, but people are my absolute favorites. When meeting new furry friends, I might bark at first out of uncertainty, until I know it’s OK. I’m crate trained and almost house trained. I haven’t had accidents and I’ll tell you if I need to go out. In the morning, I’m so excited to see you that I might pee a little. Oops - I’ll get better. I’m still learning puppy manners. Can’t wait to learn more from you! Auberon is a typical puppy, he eats a bunch, poops a lot, plays hard and sleeps even harder. He's working on his house-training skills but you can expect to have to train! He's a quick learner. Puppies require training, so Auberon is no different. We highly encourage enrolling in a training program to teach your new addition good manners and to help him be well socialized. Please remember puppies demand a lot of your time and pets are a commitment for life. Before emailing- please read: - Yes, this dog is available for adoption - The adoption fee for Auberon is $465 - Apply at c2cnd.org - The adoption fee covers their age appropriate shots, microchip, deworming, spay/neuter, and any other medical expenses while in our care. - Local adopters only.
