**This dog is at risk for euthanization due to length of stay and a decline in the environment. Ottie came to us last year back in October and is officially our longest resident. We're starting to get worried that once we blink, it'll be a year that he's still here. Watching his friends leave, and being in an environment that constantly changes has already taken a toll on him. Please help us find the perfect adopter for Ottie! 𝐎𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐞 is an amazing dog for many homes and he's looking for a forever home that doesn't mind making a little accommodation. Please share his post so he can find his forever home. "OTTIE" 3 Years Old - German Shepherd Mix Neutered Male - Vaccinated/Microchip Cat and Kid Friendly Dog Tolerable This handsome guy was found roaming the streets in Madison(OH) and was relinquished upon return to the previous owners. (He's so well known by the locals, he even had his own Facebook page Where’s Otti?) While not very trusting of strangers (just avoids them), he is very friendly especially when a trusted handler is present. When you bond with Ottie, he'll be at your beck and call. He has a more laid-back personality (with a big goofy side), but loves zoomie time! Ottie will play with balls, stuffed toys, and even chew the occasional bone. He loves to go for walks, adventures, and car rides (just don't leave him in the car alone! He'll be worried for your safety). When going for walks, he handles very nicely and makes the perfect companion for adventures. Just keep your eye out for squirrels as Ottie has a score to settle with them. He claims that one threw an acorn in his eye while he was smelling the flowers one morning. 💚 Ottie is also very communicative when a need must be met (potty, water, food, bored, or when something is wrong). The more enriched he is, the less likely he'll bother you for anything. German Shepherd need enrichment daily and are a high-energy breeds! While Ottie is generally dog-friendly, he is selective of who he makes friends with. Ottie is not aggressive but will be very clear who he does and does not like before escalating. The environment has worn him down so much, especially losing some of his best friends (males and females), that he might do best as an only dog or with a 𝐟𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐞, playful, companion. On the bright side, he absolutely loves playing with kids! Ottie would be a great companion to a growing kid. He plays with them, goofs off, and would 100% help your children get into the cookie jar. Crate Trained Housebroken Great Leash Manners Knows Sit, Paw, and (working on) Stay Ottie is incredibly smart and seems to be very understanding of basic communication. This is a really easy dog to bring home and will be a great family member after decompressing. Ottie likes his space on occasion but doesn't mind snuggling up. He knows the "Good Morning" command when sleeping out which is giving big affection, pulling the sheets off of you, then kicking you out of bed. It has its uses if you're not a big morning person. Like every great dog, there are some quirks to address. Ottie is one heck of an escape artist from opening windows, doors and making those fences look invisible. However, as escapable as our fence is, he doesn't make the attempt to leave unless the other dogs are picking on him. Once a handler is bonded, he might be mischievous at times, but he'll always be there. Ottie cannot be left unattended without a crate and will need a specific escape-proof kennel which he remains very calm in even when no one is home. Most of his BIG escape attempts were linked to separation anxiety but settles once he feels he's somewhere safe. Ottie is not elgible to go into apartments. Fences are not required with an active family. Story
Hi everyone, my name is Roxy. I am 3 and a half months old I came with some other puppies from Texas. I have two sisters and I'm looking for my forever home. I'm sure my sister told you all about how they don't care who they kill down in Texas. They don't give us a fair chance to get adopted. So thank God. Somebody called Ms. Addie up and asked if she could help out so she took me and my two sisters and some other puppies. The other puppies have all gone, It's just me and my sister which I'm wondering if I'm that cute enough. But I promise you I'll give you lots of love. I'm very smart. I go pee pee on the I pee pee pad and when Miss Eddie takes us out I go pee, pee and poo poo outside. I love to play with toys. I'm good with other dogs and sure I could be okay with cats too because I'm little. I sure am looking for my forever haul and getting very sad that nobody loves me. If you're interested in me, please call Ms. Annie at 216-205-2647 and you can meet me and maybe you'll fall in love with me like I'll fall in love with you. I will be faithful. I will stay by your side. I'll be there when you're sad or when you don't feel good. Just please give me a chance and I promise you'll love me. Can't wait to hear from you

Story
Sierra is a spayed female with lots of love to give! She's a playful, friendly, and curious pup who is good with other dogs and prefers an adult only quiet home. At 35 pounds, she's the perfect size for any home. We don't know her exact age, but she's younger than 6 years old. Sierra is a loving companion who would enjoy curling up on the couch or going on walks. She needs a patient owner who can help her feel comfortable in her new home and work with her on basic training and any anxiety or resource guarding issues she may have. She's up to date on her vaccinations and house-trained. She'll be microchipped before adoption. We're hoping Sierra finds her forever home with a loving family who can give her the care and attention she needs!

Story
“Hello, my name is Dexter! The nice folks at PAWS Ohio rescue are courtesy posting me on their website as my loving family faces some important challenges. I am a male pure-bred German Shepherd with lots of love to give. I am an affectionate, athletic, friendly, loyal, and protective dog. I am 3 and half years old, neutered and current with vaccinations. I am very smart, and loyal to my human family. I don't mean to brag, but people tell me I am very handsome! I hope you will consider adopting me! I have been well-cared for and have lived with the same family since I was a baby puppy. I am up to date on all my vaccinations; and I am neutered and healthy. I am an indoor pet dog. I am great family dog. I may be a little dog-reactive, so I would do best in a home without other dogs. If you are interested in adopting me, please complete an adoption application at www.pawsohio.org under the ADOPT tab. Thank you, Dexter.”
