She has lived with kids before and was a true protector, thriving with children of all ages who respect her space. Melillo does best as the only pet in a home and would love a fenced-in yard to safely explore, play, and enjoy her freedom. She isn’t a fan of crates, but she is housebroken (99% in the shelter) and adapts well in a home environment. She enjoys trips to the groomer and thrives with gentle guidance and love. Shelter life can be stressful for Melillo, and she’s ready for a calm, loving home where she can relax, feel safe, and share her big heart. Luna is a very sweet girl. She was surrendered to us after she got loose from her previous owner who worked long shifts as a nurse and didn’t feel she could give her a good home. Luna is a between 1.5-2.5 year old. She gets along with other dogs. She does ok with young children, would not recommend babies or toddlers. She can get very excited and can nip at small hands that are close to her height. Luna is crate trained(although once she got settled has been allowed to roam with the other dogs while we are away). She is potty trained. Luna is a highly intelligent dog, that is easily trained. She knows sit, stay, come, leave it, off, and is learning many new skills as well. She would likely thrive and accelerate in her training in a calmer environment than out busy home. Luna is a big snuggler, snuggling is her favorite pastime and she throughly enjoys getting petted and playing fetch in the yard.

Axel came to us after my boyfriend’s uncle passed away. He had lost his wife and thats when he got the dog. He is almost 3 years old and full of energy. He is trained to work and constant brain stimulus. The previous owner was a retired army veteran was home most of the time. We didn’t plan on getting a second dog and as much as we love him I find that he would be better in a less busy household. My American bully does great in our house but I am learning that GSD are very different. He gets along with my other dog but they are male and female so they act like brother and sister. Not sure how he would do with another male. We also have cats and he tries to jump at them but backs away when they hiss. Axel loves pets and belly rubs but does not like feeling trapped, hanging around his neck, or being picked up. He likes his personal space rather than cuddles. He is trained and we have been working with him on and off a leash. Along with other commands to benefit him in his next home.

Say hello to Shay! She is a 4 year old Shepherd/wolf hybrid mix who weighs about 55 pounds. Shay can be a bit shy with new people, but she warms up quickly and is sweet as can be! She enjoys occupying her own time and is the perfect combination of independent and affectionate. When she`s feeling excited, she enjoys playing with toys, but she mostly enjoys going for long walks outside and enjoying the fresh air. Shay absolutely loves other dogs, so she would love to live in a home with another dog that she can be playmates with. Due to her initial sensitivity, if there are children in her forever home they need to be ages 13 and older. Shay has been returned to us multiple times for traits that are common to wolf hybrids. Any interested adopter will need previous experience with wolf hybrids and experience with positive reinforcement training to ensure her next home is her forever home.
