Meet Yuki – A Gentle Soul Looking for a Fresh StartYuki means `happiness` in Japanese, and that’s exactly what we hope she’ll find in her forever home.Yuki is a female Shepard_ mix who weighs 46 pounds and is estimated to be 2 years old. She was found as a stray, and it`s clear she’s had a rough time. Yuki has significant hair loss and red, irritated skin, which our veterinarian believes is due to untreated allergies. She is now receiving medication, along with plenty of TLC from our dedicated volunteers.Despite her condition, Yuki remains incredibly loving. She has a timid nature at first, but once she trusts you, she’ll happily walk by your side in the park. Because she can be skittish, a secure, fenced-in yard is required.Yuki is not a barker in the shelter. While we don’t yet know how she does with cats, she seems to have potential with other dogs. As always, a meet-and-greet is required with your current dog to ensure a good fit.Yuki would thrive in an adult-only home or one with older, calm teens. She is available through our Foster-to-Adopt program, which means you can foster her in your home while she completes her veterinary care. This includes allergy treatment, updated vaccines, spay, microchip, and heartworm testing.If you`re interested in meeting Yuki, please email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and complete a dog adoption application online.Yuki’s adoption fee is $160.We can’t wait to watch Yuki’s transformation and know that she’ll be feeling better and blossoming soon with the love she deserves.

Luke is another good boy ready to bring you laughter and only good things to your life. Luke is a male shepherd mix that weighs 72 pounds. He is 3 years old. He came to us as a transfer from the City of Cleveland Kennel which is bursting at the seams with adoptable dogs. Luke is very friendly, curious and playful. He is strong on leash and will pull so he will need a strong handler. He loves all people. He exudes golden retriever energy. Luke enjoys playing with toys but is especially a fan of tennis balls. He would play fetch with tennis balls all day long if he could. Recently, Luke had an interaction with children under the age of 10 and he was absolutely wonderful and respectful of the children. He would be a good addition to just about any household. He will excel with an active family that will take him on long walks or even become a running companion. Luke has shown great potential to be with other dogs. Compatability with cats is unknown. A meet and greet with your resident canine is required. Luke is available for adoption. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and heartworm negative. Please email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and fill out an adoption application online to meet Luke. Thor is a very smart intelligent fur baby. He came to me because my son was unable to care for him while he was away .I have had him for seven months and I have tried to allow him to get along with my other two dogs, but it just is not working out that way. I have to take time daily to separate them and allow them play time without Thor and then put my dogs away and allow playtime for Thor and it’s just not fair to Thor or my dogs to have to be away so much. Thor is very intelligent and knows basic commands very well. And does good with people, adults and kids I have grandchildren. I recently had surgery and trying to keep them apart and keep up with walking them separately. This temporary situation is no longer temporary, and I need to find him a good loving home so that it’s fair to all of the dogs. Please help me give Thor a forever home and the love he deserves.
