Story
Meet Matcha 💚 Matcha is an 8‑month‑old German Shepherd with the typical energy and curiosity of a young working‑breed puppy. He will need the training and structure expected for a GSD his age, and his love of treats makes him easy to motivate during learning. He’s playful, active, and still very much in the developmental stage. He has lived successfully with children, though he may do best in a home without cats as he matures. Matcha’s temperament, drive, and eagerness to engage make him a good fit for someone prepared to guide a growing shepherd through the basics and into adulthood. Apply to adopt today, or email dogs@rispca.org with any questions! 🐾

Story
Meet Maggie! Adoption Fee: $549 - Includes transport Adoption Application - Copy & Paste https://forms.gle/FmtRtYxQNnemdkdw9 Maggie is a stunning purebred German Shepherd puppy who is only 9 months old and already looking for a second chance at the forever home she deserves. Maggie was purchased from a breeder as a young puppy, but her family quickly realized something important: puppies are work — and German Shepherd puppies are a LOT of work. This intelligent, active breed requires training, structure, exercise, patience, and commitment. Unfortunately, Maggie is now losing the only home she has ever known because her owners decided she was “too much.” We refuse to let Maggie be failed again. Maggie is a beautiful young dog with so much potential, but she needs the right home — one that understands the German Shepherd breed and is ready to invest the time and energy she deserves. Experience with German Shepherds or other working breeds is strongly preferred. She will thrive with an owner who can provide leadership, training, daily exercise, mental stimulation, and love. This sweet girl deserves stability, guidance, and a family that sees her as a lifelong commitment — not a temporary phase. If you believe you are the right match for Maggie and can give her the future she deserves, please send in an application to apply for her. Here's the adoption application, please copy & paste. https://forms.gle/FmtRtYxQNnemdkdw9 **To see all of our pets available for adoption, please copy &paste this link. https://www.adoptapet.com/pet-search?radius=50&postalCode=02919&awos[0]=165123&filterMode=all Paws of Dixie Animal Rescue adopts in the New England area. The pets are delivered by a licensed transporter. PDAR.info@gmail.com COMPLETED APPLICATIONS TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER INQUIRIES. If you are interested in adopting, the FIRST step is to complete an application. Please be advised that our volunteers are busy rescuing, transporting, and caring for our animals. We will respond to your application as soon as possible. Upon review of your application, the rescue in AL will contact you, so you can ask any specific questions that you may have. NOTE: All Paws of Dixie animals are located in AL foster homes. They will be transported north after adoption. If there is more than one decision maker in the home, all of them should be in agreement. We DO NOT adopt to anyone under the age of 21

Story
Meet Gunner, a 5-month-old, 22-lb sweetheart with the gentlest heart. Gunner was dumped at a construction site in Puerto Rico, surrounded by loud, scary machines and chaos. Terrified, he hid inside a storage container just trying to stay safe. Thankfully, rescuers found him before something terrible happened. Gunner has no idea he isn't a lap dog and don't you dare tell him. He MELTS into you. He absolutely loves to snuggle and enters a coma when you give him belly rubs. Under those big ears is just a soft, sweet puppy who just wants comfort, kindness, and someone to trust. Gunner also has a tiny little club foot, but vets say it is completely fine and purely cosmetic — it doesn’t slow him down one bit and there is nothing medically wrong with him. If anything, it just makes him look like he’s salsa dancing when he walks, which honestly makes him even more adorable. Now Gunner is ready for a forever home where he can continue building confidence, soaking up love, and finally experience the safe, happy puppyhood he always deserved.

Story
Meet Dozer! This handsome 8 month old German Shepherd is incredibly sweet, affectionate, and so ready to find his person 🖤 Dozer forms a very strong bond with his human and wants nothing more than to be by your side at all times. He’s the kind of dog who will happily sleep on your feet, gently place a paw in your lap when he wants attention, and follow you around with complete devotion. He’s looking for someone to truly commit to, because once he loves you, he loves you wholeheartedly. He’s crate trained, house trained, walks well on a leash, and is very treat motivated, which makes him eager to learn and easy to redirect when needed. He loves toys, enjoys playing with female dogs, and is polite around other male dogs. Dozer can be a little wary of strangers at first, but a little patience, kindness, and maybe some cheese 😆 will win him over quickly. Once he warms up, he’s an incredibly loving and loyal companion. He’s neutered, UTD on vaccinations, and looking for the forever person he can adore for the rest of his life. 🐾

Story
Meet Cocoa 🤎🐾 Cocoa is a 1.5-year-old Shepherd with the most soulful amber eyes and the sweetest, happiest smile you’ve ever seen. One look at her and you’re hooked — those big, alert ears, that perfectly boopable nose, and the way her whole face lights up when she looks at you just melts your heart. She has this joyful, “life is good” expression that makes you want to scoop her up and tell her she’s the best girl (because she is). Cocoa is perfectly housetrained and crate trained. She’s incredibly intelligent and has a fun, silly personality — she’ll play little games with you and keeps you laughing with her clever antics. She’s so smart that she could absolutely excel as a service dog with the right guidance. She’s very social and playful with older kids, other dogs, and would truly thrive with a canine companion since she can get a little lonely on her own. She’s vocal in the cutest way — if she needs to go outside, she’ll let you know with a bark. If she wants attention, she’ll make the funniest little whining sounds to “talk” to you. She’s not excessive, just expressive. While she loves to play, she’s not over-the-top high energy. She’s perfectly content to snuggle up on the couch and just be near her people. Cocoa would do best in a feline-free home, as cats are just a bit too tempting to chase. She is spayed, fully vaccinated, and ready to find her forever family — one lucky home that gets to wake up to that beautiful, smiling face every single day. 🐾💕

Story
🚨 PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: COME MEET KIRA IMMEDIATELY! She is absolutely adorable, and currently accepting applications for the very important role of “people who will love her properly.” Kira is a very good girl with a huge heart, a sweet face, and the kind of personality that makes you immediately wonder how she ended up needing a new home. She was relinquished after her previous owner repeatedly let her run loose, where she made some poor choices involving neighborhood chickens. To be fair, Kira would like to state for the record that chickens are suspicious little dinosaurs, she was simply conducting field research, and no none ever taught her manners. Which is absolutely not her fault. What we know for sure is that Kira is loving, affectionate, and so happy to be with people. She has lived with kids, gets along with other dogs, and is the kind of girl who really just needs someone to keep her safe, contained, and set up for success. Kira is not looking for a free range lifestyle. She’s looking for a family, a secure yard or leash walks, snuggles, guidance, and maybe zero direct access to poultry based drama. She is sweet, beautiful, and extremely ready to retire from chicken investigations. HOW TO GO ABOUT ADOPTING: - Come in during adoption hours to apply and fill out an application completely.
