Story
Carly Forsyth is currently in RI and looking for a 'furever' home!    A 4 month old German Shepherd mix with brains, beauty, and enough energy to keep life exciting. This friendly girl is always ready to be part of the action and would happily be your little shadow, following you room to room and keeping tabs on her favorite people. Carly is smart as a whip and already knows sit, making her a great candidate for continued training. She walks nicely on leash, enjoys getting out and about, and has the energy and curiosity typical of a young shepherd pup. She also loves to play with other dogs, though her style is enthusiastic and full speed ahead. Carly would thrive in an active home ready to provide structure, training, exercise, and lots of love. If you are interested in adopting this dog please complete the adoption application at www.rhodehomerescue.org/adoption-form to become a pre-approved adopter.   If you were already approved through Rhode Home Rescue within the last 6 months, contact us today! Be sure to check our Facebook page "Rhode Home Rescue" for details on upcoming events and other announcements.April 28, 2026, 8:17 pm

Story
Meet Cocoa 🤎🐾 Cocoa is a 1.5-year-old Shepherd with the most soulful amber eyes and the sweetest, happiest smile you’ve ever seen. One look at her and you’re hooked — those big, alert ears, that perfectly boopable nose, and the way her whole face lights up when she looks at you just melts your heart. She has this joyful, “life is good” expression that makes you want to scoop her up and tell her she’s the best girl (because she is). Cocoa is perfectly housetrained and crate trained. She’s incredibly intelligent and has a fun, silly personality — she’ll play little games with you and keeps you laughing with her clever antics. She’s so smart that she could absolutely excel as a service dog with the right guidance. She’s very social and playful with older kids, other dogs, and would truly thrive with a canine companion since she can get a little lonely on her own. She’s vocal in the cutest way — if she needs to go outside, she’ll let you know with a bark. If she wants attention, she’ll make the funniest little whining sounds to “talk” to you. She’s not excessive, just expressive. While she loves to play, she’s not over-the-top high energy. She’s perfectly content to snuggle up on the couch and just be near her people. Cocoa would do best in a feline-free home, as cats are just a bit too tempting to chase. She is spayed, fully vaccinated, and ready to find her forever family — one lucky home that gets to wake up to that beautiful, smiling face every single day. 🐾💕

The next day they picked up Wally and not quiet a week later, a friend picked up 2 puppies, June & Suzy. All from same section on the road. Today I am fully vetted (all shots, neutered, and checked for heartworms (I am negative) ) and ready for my own home. I will love to hike, camp, car rides, walks, or, just hang out. I want to see the apple orchards in the fall, go to the ocean and play, also go for walks. I am ready to come home. Please request an application from alittlelonger2home@gmail.com. Story
Meet Lola! Lola is a 1.5-year-old Shepherd/Husky mix with striking amber eyes, a big personality, and an even bigger heart. She’s wonderfully goofy — full of silly antics, playful energy, and that classic “husky talk” that makes her impossible not to smile at. She loves people, so expect plenty of affection, snuggles, and a sweet shadow who likes to be nearby. Lola has moderate to high energy and would do great in a home that can give her a bit of daily activity — whether that’s walks, playtime, or a canine buddy to help her burn off some zoomies. She’s friendly with kids and other dogs, though she’d do best in a home without cats, as her instincts may tempt her to chase. Lola is crate trained, progressing nicely with house training, and is already spayed and fully vaccinated. She’s ready to bring laughter, love, and lots of personality to her forever home.

Story
Meet Gunnar, your future best friend with a story of resilience and a heart of gold. Gunnar is a handsome German Shepherd who proves every single day that nothing can slow him down. After being hit by a car, Gunnar lost one of his legs, but he hasn’t lost an ounce of his spirit. This incredible tripod gets around with confidence, determination, and a joyful energy that’s truly inspiring to watch. Gunnar is as friendly as they come. He loves meeting new people and greets everyone like an old friend. He is friendly with other dogs out and about, however, at home he would prefer to be your one and only and soak up all the attention.  Don’t let the three legs fool you, Gunnar still enjoys walks, playtime, and being part of whatever you’re doing. He adapts beautifully and just wants to be included in a loving home where he can continue to thrive. Gunnar is looking for someone who sees how special he is, not in spite of his journey, but because of it. If you’re ready for a loyal, affectionate, and inspiring companion, Gunnar is ready to meet you.
