Story
Meet Rover...a big, happy, friendly, affectionate, playful 5 year old, 102 pound, 94.8% German Shepherd who is up for adoption. When rescued last August, he weighed only 66 pounds, very emaciated in his backyard. A foster stepped up and provided him a safe place to complete all the care all he needed. They gave him so much love he is now 102 pounds and a very happy boy. Now healthy and happy, he is so very playful and energetic. He even acts younger than his age, and he thinks he is a lap dog!!! He went through HW treatment with no issues and did very well when he had to be on restrictive play time. He does love to play but he also knows when he has had enough and will find a comfy spot to nap.Rover just loves people; he is a little ham who loves to go to the pet store and meet all the pet owners. Due to his size, and that he has never lived with a child, we feel he would be best with children over 7, after all, he loves laps!!He is great with dogs, he shares his foster with other dogs. He spotted the neighbor cat and started to chase, so he needs a home without a feline. He is great in the car and loves rides. He is still working on his leash skills but has come a long way.Rover is already for a new family who can continue to show him love. He is house trained and crate trained, he will go in his crate just to nap. He will need continued leash training, he is 5 and has never had anything around his neck besides a heavy chain, so now he is learning what leashes are all about. He has make progress just needs you to continue helping him understand. He was a little nervous in a car at first, but is now better; laying down quickly once inside.Rover is truly a gentle giant who is so lovable and handsome. And those ears!!!!Can you give this great guy a home?Check out videos of this boy in action:https://youtube.com/shorts/lpIc1yGz3Rghttps://youtube.com/shorts/MLVK4fQHlmUhttps://youtube.com/shorts/AInZ-vHn7rIhttps://youtube.com/shorts/EGJPGBhzIX0?si=6MtevKlTh_XITKH5Name: RoverBreed: German Shepherd DogSex: MaleAge: 5 yrs 9 months as of 4/21/25Weight: 102 lbs as of 4/21/25Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Positive on recent testing.  Has completed entire treatment!Microchipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: Over 8Good with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: NoAdoption Fee: $550.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently:    Tennessee IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. Story
Meet Faline, a beautiful 12-year-old female German Shepherd mix with a heart full of life and a playful spirit that defies her age. At five years old, she was rescued from a high-kill shelter by a loving family who gave her a warm, safe home. She lived peacefully alongside another female dog, a cat, and shared a special bond with a teenage girl who was her closest human companion. Sadly, when her family had to relocate, they couldn’t bring their pets along—leaving Faline in need of a new forever homeNow in search of her next chapter, Faline brings with her the wisdom of experience and the warmth of a deeply loyal companion. She carries herself with both grace and strength. Despite her senior status, she’s still very much in her prime when it comes to playtime—especially with younger dogs. She’s been known to hold her own in rough-and-tumble games with pups less than two years old, showing that age is just a number. This girl is also always up for a daily walk and would love a home that offers both activity and companionship. She also does great in the car. While she’d thrive in a household with other pets—especially a younger dog who will invite her to play—she would also do wonderfully as an only pet in a home where she’s the center of attention. Faline does have a reserved side when it comes to people, especially outdoors. She won’t approach if you walk toward her, but if you sit down quietly, she’ll gladly come for affection, leaning in for pets and connection. She’s smart and perhaps a bit sly. Whether you’re looking for a gentle guardian, a playful friend, or a loyal soul to share your days with, Faline is ready to meet you on her own terms—and win your heart in the process.Name: FalineBreed: German Shepherd MixSex: FemaleAge: 11 years 7 months as of 5/16/25Weight: 67.0 as of 5/16/25Spayed/Neutered: NoVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm:  NEG on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: Yes teens would be bestGood with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: YesAdoption Fee: $300.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently:    Tennessee IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England. Story
Say hello to Clyde, a German Shephard boy who loves to be petted, and just wants to be by your side. He also has the best smile!!This boy was a never claimed stray found on a backroad in MS protecting another Shephard who had sustained a gunshot wound (already adopted out through PAWS!) Clyde now resides in his southern foster home and is doing so well..At first, he may seem a little shy, but don't let that fool you—this sweet pup warms up quickly and will soon be your shadow and loyal best friend. Once he feels safe, his playful and affectionate personality shines through. His usual day is split between relaxing in his crate and romping around outside with his doggy foster sibling. He’s a big fan of outdoor play, daily walks (he’s great on leash!), and car rides—so he’s always ready for an adventure.Smart and eager to please, Clyde already knows "sit" and comes when called (especially if treats or kisses are involved!). He’s very food motivated, making training a breeze, and he's nearly 100% housebroken and fully crate trained. While Clyde loves being around his people and can get a little anxious when left alone, he settles down quickly and is learning that solo time is okay too. His ideal home would be active and outdoorsy, with a fenced yard for daily zoomies. If you're looking for a loyal, loving companion who’s ready to explore the world by your side, here he is!!Name: ClydeBreed: German Shepherd MixSex: MaleAge: 2 years  (estimated)Weight: 75.0Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Positive on recent testing. Story
Meet Huk—a brave, resilient young soul with a heart ready to heal and a future full of promise. Huk spent the first months of his life surviving alone in a rural Mississippi town, living feral and afraid. When he was finally found, he bore the painful scars of his past: a deeply embedded collar had caused a severe infection around his neck. Thanks to the dedication of professional trappers and compassionate veterinarians, Huk was rescued and underwent surgery to remove the collar and begin his physical recovery. Now safe in a loving foster home, Huk is learning what it means to be a dog. Every day brings new joys: playing with toys, going for walks, car rides, and discovering the simple pleasure of being outside without fear. Most importantly, he’s learning that people can be kind, and that love is something he truly deserves. Huk is housed with many other dogs and gets along with all. After his playtime and leash walks, he then loves to cuddle with his foster mom..the best of both worlds!!Huk is even is good with cats...just sniffs them, wags his tail and moves on. This precious boy also plays gently with his 3 and 6 year old human sibs. And he is both crate and housetrained too!!!Huk is still growing into his confidence, but his spirit is strong. He’s sweet, curious, and eager to bond. With patience, consistency, and an active loving forever home, Huk will continue to blossom into the loyal companion he was always meant to be. And it will be truly amazing and rewarding to witness this beautiful transformation. Are you ready to help Huk write the next chapter of his story?Name: HukBreed: German Shepherd Dog/Labrador RetrieverSex: MaleAge: 8 months  (estimated)Weight: 40.0Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: YesGood with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: YesAdoption Fee: $600.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently: MississippiIMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England. She's great with kids (ages 5+), gentle with elderly folks, and walks beautifully on a leash. Ruby is also housetrained and an excellent traveler, making her a perfect adventure companion.Ruby does have a few quirks—she's not a fan of cats (she'll chase them!) and gets nervous during storms, preferring to snuggle under the covers. But with love and reassurance, she'll always be by your side. Her ideal home?A loving family with or without other dogsA cat-free home Ruby is already spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on vet care. Still, she tested positive for heartworms, so she'll need a family willing to continue her treatment.
