Story
Nori was named for the name in Hebrew meaning "Light". She was tied up to an old truck in the Rio Grande Valley .She was adopted but given away and now we have her.  She is about 2.5 years old and weighs about 25 lbs.  She is such a doll. She is a sweet, petite, very unique young dog.  She is fully grown \!  She is a mini - she kind of looks like a Mini English Coonhound perhaps?  We don't know for sure but we do know she is adorable!    She is wonderful with other dogs and children and has a happy demeanor.  She has  gentle dispositio and desire to find her forever - human to follow around, cuddle and devote her love to for the rest of her life  Nori knows basic commands like sit and lie down, and also knows simple phrases such as "want to go potty?". "Want a bone?" She is potty trained.  As with any rescue, she will need time to adopt to her new home. She loves to do zoomies and would love a playmate!  Nori can be shy when meeting new people but never, ever aggressive and warms up super quick.  She just take a few minutes to relax.    She also loves a boy thrown or a toy to play with her owner.  Her favorite activity is playing with other dogs though.  She would love doggy day care too.  She's calm and well behaved and loves car rides.  We are looking for a forever home with someone home more than not She will be good with older children instead of toddlers only because she has never been around any.   She is light heartworm positive and we are treating her.Applications to foster or adopt Nori are at codysfriendsrescue.org ##2345154##

Meet Kip – A Sweet, Snuggly Pup with a Big Heart (and a Brave Spirit!) Kip is as cute as they come and has the sweetest soul to match. This handsome young pup absolutely adores being around his people—cuddles, belly rubs, and quality time are high on his list of favorite things. He's also a big fan of snacks (who isn't?), which makes him extra motivated to learn and bond. Kip is 1.5 years old and weighs 86 pounds. He is potty-trained, crate-trained, and walks well on a leash. He'd love a home with another dog to keep him company, a yard to romp around in, and plenty of toys and chew bones to keep him happy. If you're ready to open your heart and home to a truly special pup, Kip will reward you with a lifetime of love, loyalty, and snuggles. Story
Greta is a sweet, friendly German Shorthaired Pointer with tons of personality. She will be 9 years old in December, but she still has the energy of a puppy! She is great with kids. She can at times be aggressive when she meets a new dog if that dog wants to "play fight". We have two small children that love her, but the time required for raising the children doesn't leave us with the proper amount of time to give her the exercise she needs - GSP's are a high-energy breed.

Tucker is a true gem: likely a mix of German Short Hair and Catahoula, he seems to combine the best traits of both. You will never regret adding this sweet young guy to your household!

Story
Archer came to our rescue after being picked up as a stray. He doesn’t know his front ankles aren’t ‘normal’ as he gets around just fine. This condition is Angular Limb Disorder and attempting surgeries to resolve could make his situation worse. While he wouldn’t be a great running companion he still loves going for walks and short jogs. Long or strenuous walks could make him sore, so his family would want to avoid that as he would go if asked. This handsome boy is a happy, outgoing, gentle soul. He loves humans of all sizes and ages. Being with his humans and getting attention is his very favorite thing. He lives with lots of other dogs and is fine with everyone unless they are nasty to him; he won’t be bullied by anyone. He is good around the cats in his foster home who are very dog savvy. Archer has excellent house manners and is crate trained. He is engaged with his humans and treat motivated so would do well with training. He already has great recall and will sit for treats. He loves going for rides and would be a great go-everywhere dog. Archer is fully vetted – current vaccines, neutered, microchipped, and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

Rottweiler Pointer

Female, Puppy
McKinney, TX
Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Details
Good with dogs, Good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Nova was born on 01/10/2026 from an accidental litter. Her family reached out to Legacy Humane Society for assistance in finding her and her sister new homes. Their Mom has been spayed, and the pups are also spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and on heartworm prevention. Their adoption fee is $325. Nova knows how to sit and shake on command. She loves belly rubs, playing fetch and eating watermelon.  Puppies require someone with lots of time and patience to raise them to be the best dogs they can be. They will do well with dogs, cats and kids. Since puppies don't have all of their manners yet, they may be too much for toddlers and very young children. If you're interested in meeting them, please apply online and we'll be in touch: Adoption Application - Legacy Humane SocietyWe do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application.
