Story
This little beauty is a Great Dane/GSP mix, who is still growing a little bit to fit those paws . Kona's ears are floppy and do their own thing when she runs, zooms and jumps, it' s hilarious If you like active, young, large dogs and want to add an already trained one to your family, Kona is your babe! Kona is a real clown and makes us laugh every day. The kids loooove playing chase and tug with her or training her with treats. Kona knows basic commands & is not shy to show them off.  On top of her goofiness Kona is also very snuggly& cuddly- the full package. Also potty, crate, house trained, great in the car and has fab recall! Kona loves, loves, loves kids, but due to her size & bounciness, I would recommend ages 8+! She also adores other dogs & plays rough, but respectfully! Kona also wants & needs all the toys (bones, stuffies, squeakers, you name it) . Shes highly treat/ food motivated & will make you very happy! Kona is an intelligent, high-energy dog who needs both physical activity and mental stimulation to thrive. She is not just a couch-potato pup and will do best in an active home—one that enjoys walks, playtime, training, enrichment, or has a large fenced yard where she can burn energy in healthy ways.  Adoption Day: February 14th at PetSmart Tysons Corner from 10:00–11:00 AM, an approved adopter must be present to adopt. Some pups may stick around until 11:00 AM for the public event—check our Facebook page closer to the date to see if this pup will be attending the extra fun!  ##2357322##

Story
We acquired Kola in the heart of the COVID pandemic in 2020. She captured our hearts with her energy, personality, and gentle yet protective nature. We purchased Kola from a family from North Carolina and she was born at the end of January. So, she is coming up her birthday soon. Her birthday is January 22nd. She will be 6 years old next week. We are looking for a new home for Kola because we recently had our son (15 months). Although she’s really good with the baby, we are unable to keep up with her daily needs (walking and playing). She gave our family some great years and we want to ensure we find a good home for her years to come. If you are passionate about animals and family oriented, please give her profile a look. Thank you!

Story
Peanut was saved from a home who couldn’t care for him when he was 4 months old he was also the runt of his litter so he was taken in by a lovely family. He is now looking for a new forever home due to his family relocating. He would be best in a home with no children and cats. He was listed as not potty trained but he can be if he is taken out every three to four hours but he sleep’s through the night. He is good with other dogs as long as proper introductions are followed. He’s a cuddle bug and loves to sleep with his owner. He knows tricks such as sit, down, Paw, spin and a few others. He also thinks he’s a bit of a guard dog and will let you know if someone is at your door or walking around your home. Another thing about peanut is although his bark is loud his heart is even bigger.

Story
Meet Bubba! Rescued from a high-kill shelter, this is a big, lovable, playful guy who could be the newest companion to your pack!  With soulful eyes and a tail that wags for days, this four-year-old darling is a sweetheart who just wants to find and be with his people.  He is very house-trained, working on being crate-trained (going well), knows his name, “sit" and “down," and is non-destructive when left alone. Bubba is a polite house guest. He doesn’t bark at dogs or people as they walk by, both when he’s in the house or whenever out on walks.  Attentive and affectionate, Bubba is happiest on walks or runs, playing in the yard, chewing on his toys and lounging on the couch with his people. He is a big lap dog who loves to show love and get love in return. Though he is large, he is well-behaved enough for an apartment, as long as he gets enough exercise. But if he had his preference he would love a bit of yard to go along with his walks. (And he is always down for a walk!) He is an active guy who will walk/run/play hard and nap hard. He loves to romp around in the yard, sniff everything, play fetch, and has shown to be interested but not aggressive toward wildlife. He is eager to please, food motivated (good for training) and is a champ in the car. He responds well with firm/calm direction but also handles the noise of (a lot of) kids, play and laughter with ease. Bubba needs a loving household and a person/family who will continue to train him and treat him kindly. Bubba would be happy as your only dog or with another playful dog or dogs. He has socialized well with other medium and large dogs. He shows no food aggression or resource guarding. He would do well with younger and older kids alike. He isn’t totally aware of his size but will remind you of it when he gets excited, pushes into you for attention or play or when he lays on you for cuddles. With his loving and playful heart, Bubba is ready to find a forever family who will love him. Adoption fee: $525, includes all shots, sterilized, heartworm negative, dewormed, flea preventative, microchip   If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application and a representative will get back to you shortly to answer any questions you may have. Fosters are like bridges between high kill shelters and forever homes. We need fosters so that we can save cats and dogs before they are euthanized at the shelters.
