Story
Tovi is a resilient, gentle soul looking for a calm and loving home where her space and boundaries are respected. She thrives in a peaceful environment with patient people, plenty of treats, and enjoyable walks. We adopted Tovi in February 2020 when she was just 12 weeks old. She survived distemper against all odds, which sadly left her blind, but it hasn’t stopped her from living a full life. She confidently goes on walks, navigates stairs, and enjoys light play. Tovi can be skittish at first and needs time to build trust, but once she does, she’s affectionate in her own quiet way and enjoys head pats and ear rubs. She gets along well with calm, well-mannered dogs and would enjoy a gentle dog companion. She would do best in a home without babies or small children. Tovi is a special dog who will thrive with someone patient, kind, and understanding.

Story
Amos got to us after he had to go from the animal shelter to the vet clinic for an amputation. We don’t know why his front left leg was so damaged. We do know that the night of his surgery he managed to rip out all of his stitches and laid his head on the vet tech’s shoulder while getting wrapped for repair surgery the next morning. He is not quite a typical Husky as he’s very laid back. He doesn’t use his voice near as often as most Huskies although he does have a little growl in his conversational voice which isn’t nearly as off-putting as it might sound.Amos has great house manners, does fine on a leash, and would be a perfect go-everywhere boy for his family. He adores his humans and is very loving and outgoing. He is a social boy and meeting new people and animals is easy for him. He’s fine with cats and seems to ignore the livestock kids at his foster home.He is very engaged with his humans and loves to be as close when he doesn’t want to spend time watching the world go by from his perch on the porch. He will often ask to sleep outside but is willing to do what his human feels is best.Amos is fully vetted, neutered, microchipped, and current with flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

Story
Age: two years Weight: 70 lbs  Meet Rookie! He's house and crate trained and does great on the leash. He's playful and loves exercise making him a great addition for an active family. Rookie is great with other dogs and older kids. He's not "bad" with cats but will playfully chase them. Rookie is well behaved and been professionally trained but is having difficulty breaking his habit of jumping on people when he gets excited. For this reason we think he would do best in a home with old kids, if any. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative. His adoption fee is $275 and you can apply to meet him here: Adoption Application - Legacy Humane Society We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application.
