Story
Amos got to us after he had to go from the animal shelter to the vet clinic for an amputation. We don’t know why his front left leg was so damaged. We do know that the night of his surgery he managed to rip out all of his stitches and laid his head on the vet tech’s shoulder while getting wrapped for repair surgery the next morning. He is not quite a typical Husky as he’s very laid back. He doesn’t use his voice near as often as most Huskies although he does have a little growl in his conversational voice which isn’t nearly as off-putting as it might sound.Amos has great house manners, does fine on a leash, and would be a perfect go-everywhere boy for his family. He adores his humans and is very loving and outgoing. He is a social boy and meeting new people and animals is easy for him. He’s fine with cats and seems to ignore the livestock kids at his foster home.He is very engaged with his humans and loves to be as close when he doesn’t want to spend time watching the world go by from his perch on the porch. He will often ask to sleep outside but is willing to do what his human feels is best.Amos is fully vetted, neutered, microchipped, and current with flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

Story
Meet Penny Penny is a 1-year-old (DOB 04/18/2024), 33 lb sweetheart who was surrendered to a city shelter when her owner had too many pets to care for. After spending a couple of months there, she was rescued by her foster family and is now enjoying the comforts of home while she waits for her forever family. Penny is a calm, polite girl with a gentle nature. She enjoys the company of other dogs and is kind and easygoing with people. She is fully crate trained and appreciates having her own safe space to relax. Penny is still building her confidence, including learning to walk nicely on a leash, and would thrive in a home that can provide consistency and routine. She also has the sweetest little quirks—Penny loves using her stuffies as pillows and will happily snack on popcorn, making her the perfect cozy companion for movie nights. Penny is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and heartworm negative. If you’re looking for a well-mannered, affectionate girl to join your family, she may be the perfect fit. Her adoption fee is $275. Story
Age: two years Weight: 70 lbs  Meet Rookie! He's house and crate trained and does great on the leash. He's playful and loves exercise making him a great addition for an active family. Rookie is great with other dogs and older kids. He's not "bad" with cats but will playfully chase them. Rookie is well behaved and been professionally trained but is having difficulty breaking his habit of jumping on people when he gets excited. For this reason we think he would do best in a home with old kids, if any. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative. His adoption fee is $275 and you can apply to meet him here: Adoption Application - Legacy Humane Society We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Story
The fee is just incase it will cost me money to get him to you, otherwise there might not be a fee. I am actively still working on training him, however I have 2 jobs and it is difficult to give him the time needed for training. Any of his behavioral issues can be fixed with proper time and training. He’s playful and energetic but can also be a couch potato with you, loves cuddles, and pig ears. He will whine to be let outside for the restroom and sit by the door. Only commands he knows are sit and lay down. “Home” is the command we’ve used for his crate and he will go home if told to. He knows what outside and inside the house mean. He loves people and other large dogs. He plays rough and has a high prey drive. I have hardly seen him around kids, he is good and gentle but will require supervision because he does have some resource guarding around food. He will eat food from your hands and will sit to wait for food until given a command. Decent on the leash but does need some work.
