Story
Amos got to us after he had to go from the animal shelter to the vet clinic for an amputation. We don’t know why his front left leg was so damaged. We do know that the night of his surgery he managed to rip out all of his stitches and laid his head on the vet tech’s shoulder while getting wrapped for repair surgery the next morning. He is not quite a typical Husky as he’s very laid back. He doesn’t use his voice near as often as most Huskies although he does have a little growl in his conversational voice which isn’t nearly as off-putting as it might sound.Amos has great house manners, does fine on a leash, and would be a perfect go-everywhere boy for his family. He adores his humans and is very loving and outgoing. He is a social boy and meeting new people and animals is easy for him. He’s fine with cats and seems to ignore the livestock kids at his foster home.He is very engaged with his humans and loves to be as close when he doesn’t want to spend time watching the world go by from his perch on the porch. He will often ask to sleep outside but is willing to do what his human feels is best.Amos is fully vetted, neutered, microchipped, and current with flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

Story
Meet Penny Penny is a 1-year-old (DOB 04/18/2024), 33 lb sweetheart who was surrendered to a city shelter when her owner had too many pets to care for. After spending a couple of months there, she was rescued by her foster family and is now enjoying the comforts of home while she waits for her forever family. Penny is a calm, polite girl with a gentle nature. She enjoys the company of other dogs and is kind and easygoing with people. She is fully crate trained and appreciates having her own safe space to relax. Penny is still building her confidence, including learning to walk nicely on a leash, and would thrive in a home that can provide consistency and routine. She also has the sweetest little quirks—Penny loves using her stuffies as pillows and will happily snack on popcorn, making her the perfect cozy companion for movie nights. Penny is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and heartworm negative. If you’re looking for a well-mannered, affectionate girl to join your family, she may be the perfect fit. Her adoption fee is $275. Apply to adopt: http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/  We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. No option for mixed breed. I am actively still working on training him, however I have 2 jobs and it is difficult to give him the time needed for training. He’s playful and energetic but can also be a couch potato with you. He enjoys the lake, car rides, cuddles and pup cups! He is house trained and crate trained. He knows most basic commands which I’ve also tried to pair with hand gestures. He loves people and other large dogs. He plays rough and has a high prey drive. I have hardly seen him around kids, he is good and gentle but will require supervision because I do not have kids so I cannot be 100% sure on that. He will sit to wait for food until given a command (I can elaborate). Decent on the leash but does need more work. Responds well to and maintains training. He’s a rescue and I will sadly be forced to take him back to the shelter if I cannot find him a better home soon. I didn’t have 2 jobs when I got him, but now it’s unfair to him if I don’t find him a better home.

Story
Hello friends, I’m Luna (58138300), a 4 year old Alaskan Husky weighing about 77 lbs of fluffy, chunky sweetness. I’m a curious, sweet girl who absolutely loves treats (seriously… they’re one of my favorite things ever). I already know SIT and SHAKE, and I’m ready to show a lucky family just how wonderful life with me can be. Whether we’re going on adventures or relaxing together afterward, I’ll be right there with my big smile and even bigger heart.   Check out all the adoptable animals on the shelter's website! https://www.collincountytx.gov/Services/Animal-Services/adoptable-pets All adoptions include spay/neuter, microchip and first round of vaccinations. If you are interested in adopting me, please visit me at Collin County Animal Services - 4750 Community Ave, McKinney TX. Shelter is open Tues-Fri 11-6, Sat-Sun 11-5May 31, 2026, 8:52 am

Story
We're looking for a special new family who will love Polar as much as his owner did. He is 75% Pomeranian and 25% Husky.  Polar was born 5/14/2019 and weighs 11 lbs. He is house and crate trained and knows basic commands. Polar loves going for walks and expects his forever home to have a plethora of tennis balls to play fetch!  He likes being with his people, but he's not super-clingy.  He does great with respectful kids and other dogs.  He would be fine with cats.   He's neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines and heartworm negative. His adoption fee is $275.   Adoption Application - Legacy Humane SocietyWe do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Story
We adopted Dune from the Allen Animal Shelter and immediately fell in love with him! We belief he is a lab/husky mix and is about 1.5 years old. He is so goofy, loves to run, and is a big cuddle bug. He is house trained and learns new tricks very quickly. He knows how to wait before he eats, sit, walk on a leash, and leave it. He is super smart and easily trainable. He is great with other dogs and loves kids! He just cannot be in a home with cats. He is very prey driven, especially on walks when he sees a squirrel! We are so sad to have to rehome Dune, he is such an amazing dog! We unfortunately just cannot make it work with our cats.

Story
Our Coby is an AKC-registered Siberian Husky, born on October 8, 2020, with a coat color of brown and white. We acquired him from an AKC Husky breeder. He is a very beautiful, lovely, healthy, and gentle dog. Coby is home-trained and crate-trained. This is a nice, friendly breed. He never assaults or hurts people. He likes playing tug-of-war and tag games. We love Coby so much and have had many happy times. But unfortunately, due to the severe allergies of my children, we are so sad and heartbroken to decide to rehome our lovely Coby. We are now looking forward to finding a nice family and ideal home to adopt our Coby, with time to dedicate to him and experience with active breeds.

Story
We received DNA results for Bud! According to Wisdom Panel, the puppies are a mix of 16 different breeds, with their top breeds being 41% Siberian Husky, 14% Belgian Malinois, and 12% German Shepherd Dog. The boys are now 3 1/2 months old and Sprout weighs 21.2 lbs and Bud weighs 19.4 lbs. Their estimated adult weight is between 49–82 lbs. They are both doing an amazing job with potty and crate training and are very snuggly little guys. They can be a bit shy at first, but once they warm up, they love to play. If you’re interested in adopting Bud or Sprout, please fill out an application at www.rescuerowinc.org. Due to their breed mix, we will not place them in an apartment, and they must be adopted separately. *Please check your junk email folder if you do not receive a response from a Rescue Row member within 3 business days. *You must live within an hour of the DFW Metroplex because we do trial adoptions and require a homecheck *Our adoption fees are as follows (paid by cash or a check made out to Rescue Row): Dogs 12 weeks-6 months old: $300 adoption fee  Dogs 7 months and older: $275 adoption fee  Rescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs. ##2702518##

Story
Meet Miss Josey Joe, one of our Diamond Dogs with a reduced fee of $125 ! Josey is a 3 year old, female, Shepherd/Akita mix that weighs 57 lbs. Miss Josey is a smart active girl that is looking for a FURever home of her own. She does great with other dogs and has no interest in cats. She is housebroken and crate trained.  Josey has moved into foster care, but she really needs a forever home to call her own! Josey definitely will do best in a home with other dogs as that is who she is the most comfortable with. She would do ok in a home with kids 6+ years of age due to her shy nature.  She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative and was given Proheart12 for heartworm prevention in August. If you are interested in adopting Miss Josey Joe, please complete an online adoption application on our website at:  Adoption Application - Legacy Humane SocietyWe do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program.
