Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hello my name is Oscar!  I had a rough start to life. We know that momma was a brindle pit mix and I look nothing like her! In fact I look nothing like any of my siblings. Dad was just a one night stand. We were told that dad was a golden retriever that runs the streets in the neighborhood we got them from.  Oscar is a sweet boy who enjoys other dogs (big and small) and has been around cats. He enjoys playing with toys and hanging out on his dog bed.  If your interested in Oscar please fill out an application at bbshonor.rescuegroups.org Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 11, 2024, 12:03 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.LEONARDO is available! Leonardo is a 2-and-1/2-year-old neutered male Golden Doodle, loving and with a heart of gold. His friendly demeanor and love for playtime make him an ideal companion for anyone seeking a loyal furry friend. Here are some highlights about Leonardo: Playful and Snuggly: Leonardo’s zest for life is contagious! He enjoys playing, chasing after tennis balls, and curling up on the couch for cuddle sessions. Basic Commands: Leonardo is a smart cookie! He already knows essential commands like “sit,” “stay,” and “down.” With a little extra training, he’ll be a well-mannered superstar. Best as an Only Dog: While Leonardo has experience living with another dog, he thrives when he’s the center of attention. His enthusiasm sometimes leads to playful jumps and mouthing, so a home where he’s the sole canine would be ideal. Kid-Friendly: Leonardo has interacted with kids aged 9 to 15 and aced the test! He’s been gentle and allowed them to pet him all over without any issues. Anxiety Management: Leonardo takes a small daily dose of fluoxetine to manage his anxiety. Loud noises, like fireworks, still spook him, but he finds comfort in being close to his human companions during those moments. Are you ready to welcome Leonardo into your heart and home? All potential fosters and adopters must complete an application, pay the $25.00 application fee and have a home visit before being considered for any dog.  If you reside in Arizona and are interested in adopting a dog like this from Arizona Golden Rescue, we recommend that you visit our website and complete the Online Adoption Application to begin the process.    http://arizonagoldenrescue.rescuegroups.org/info/adoption  WE DO NOT ADOPT OUTSIDE OF THE STATE OF ARIZONA. Once we receive your application and application fee, a home visit will be scheduled. Once your home visit is approved, you will be placed on our waiting list. (Please be aware that your application cannot be processed until the application fee is paid.) Our sole purpose is to find the perfect home for the dog as our dogs always come first.        Because we have new rescues coming in all the time, if the Golden that is the right dog for you is not available at this time it will probably come into Rescue and you would be notified of the availability.     Waiting times vary depending upon how specific your preferences are. The more you restrict the factors involved in choosing a dog – age, sex, coat color, etc. – the longer the wait may be before we find the perfect dog for you.  Please note: it is the policy of AGR not to place a dog less than 3 years of age with a family that has children less than 3 years of age.  If you have specific questions about our adoption process, please go to this link at our website.   https://arizonagoldenrescue.rescuegroups.org/info/display?PageID=20779  Arizona Golden Rescue is organized as an all-volunteer, non-profit, 501 (c) (3) corporation. We are a charitable organization whose mission is to rescue displaced Golden Retrievers and mostly Golden mixes that have been abused, abandoned, neglected or unwanted and find new, loving, permanent homes for them. Rescued dogs are given a complete veterinary exam and their vaccines are updated; they are also micro-chipped, spayed or neutered, and tested for valley fever and heartworm. AGR provides emotional and medical rehabilitation and will pay for medications and for necessary surgeries. Through education at public appearances, AGR seeks to educate the public about the Golden Retriever breed and about responsible dog ownership, in order to help reduce the unwanted dog population.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 23, 2024, 9:08 pm

We are not sure what he is mixed with, but he is really cute and small.  Loves to explore and run around, likes to play fetch and he is lovable.  He is a bit shy with new people at first then warms up.  He does not live with children but has been around children ages 7 and up.  He lives with another dog but has never been around cats.  He is a bit scared of loud noises and will hide. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. FOZZI is available! 24-033 Fozzi is a male golden retriever mix estimated to be about 4 years old.  We believe he is a Golden/Shepherd Mix.  He was found wandering in the desert.  He has been friendly with the people he has met, but somewhat afraid. It is our policy that since he was a stray he will not be placed in any household with children under age 12, and no visiting grandchildren please!  Fozzi was recently neutered on 6/14/24 and had some small growths removed from his eyelids, so will be recuperating with a foster family.
