Story
Summer is a quiet yet dignified senior dog with lots of love to give. She is a friendly and affectionate dog, but can also be gentle and independent. Summer is a well-mannered dog, and would be the perfect companion for someone looking for a quiet and low-key companion and excellent foot warmer. She loves to cuddle and give kisses to those she loves and trusts, but is not sure about other dogs. She would do best in a home where she is the only dog, as she enjoys being the center of attention. She came from a home where there were 8 dogs, so sometimes had to fend for herself. She is not very active and is more of a couch potato, so a calm and relaxed home would be ideal for her. She is a sweet and loyal dog who just needs a chance to prove herself.

Story
Lily is a dignified and quiet senior dog with a gentle and affectionate soul who is on the lookout for a special someone to give her the retirement home she deserves. She is a friendly dog who loves getting kisses and being a couch potato. She is independent and can be a bit shy around new people, but give her a few minutes and she'll be jumping into your lap for a snuggle. Lily came to us as her previous owner developed health issues and was no longer able to care for her. She did live in a home with 8 other dogs, but she would be an excellent companion for someone looking for a one-on-one relationship. If you're looking for a loyal and loving friend to join you in her golden years, Lily is the one for you!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. LEONARDO is available! Leonardo is a 2-and-1/2-year-old neutered male Golden Doodle.  He is a big boy at 86 lbs and needs to shed some more weight with the green bean diet. Leonardo is friendly, loves to play and needs lots of exercise.  He gets hyper excited and needs training to curb his enthusiasm and jumping. He has been fostered with other dogs, but he may do best in a home with no other dogs, as he can be very "mouthy" and intimidating. While he has never lived with children he has been around kids ages 9 to 15.  He knows sit, stay, down, come but sometimes chooses not to listen to come.  He will jump on people so before opening the door if you tell him "go get a toy" he will run to find a toy rather than jump. He needs more training on the leash as he pulls.  Leonardo is afraid of fireworks and loud noises and likes to be next to someone if that happens. He would benefit from additional basic training with proper benevolent leadership, structure, and socialization. All potential fosters and adopters must complete an application, pay the $25.00 application fee and have a home visit before being considered for any dog.  If you reside in Arizona and are interested in adopting a dog like this from Arizona Golden Rescue, we recommend that you visit our website and complete the Online Adoption Application to begin the process.    http://arizonagoldenrescue.rescuegroups.org/info/adoption  WE DO NOT ADOPT OUTSIDE OF THE STATE OF ARIZONA. Once we receive your application and application fee, a home visit will be scheduled. Once your home visit is approved, you will be placed on our waiting list. (Please be aware that your application cannot be processed until the application fee is paid.) Our sole purpose is to find the perfect home for the dog as our dogs always come first.        Because we have new rescues coming in all the time, if the Golden that is the right dog for you is not available at this time it will probably come into Rescue and you would be notified of the availability.     Waiting times vary depending upon how specific your preferences are. The more you restrict the factors involved in choosing a dog – age, sex, coat color, etc. – the longer the wait may be before we find the perfect dog for you.  Please note: it is the policy of AGR not to place a dog less than 3 years of age with a family that has children less than 3 years of age.  If you have specific questions about our adoption process, please go to this link at our website.   https://arizonagoldenrescue.rescuegroups.org/info/display?PageID=20779  Arizona Golden Rescue is organized as an all-volunteer, non-profit, 501 (c) (3) corporation. We are a charitable organization whose mission is to rescue displaced Golden Retrievers and mostly Golden mixes that have been abused, abandoned, neglected or unwanted and find new, loving, permanent homes for them. Rescued dogs are given a complete veterinary exam and their vaccines are updated; they are also micro-chipped, spayed or neutered, and tested for valley fever and heartworm. AGR provides emotional and medical rehabilitation and will pay for medications and for necessary surgeries. Through education at public appearances, AGR seeks to educate the public about the Golden Retriever breed and about responsible dog ownership, in order to help reduce the unwanted dog population.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 29, 2024, 10:34 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. BODHI is available! Bodhi is a neutered Golden Doodle approximately 3-and-1/2-years old.  He is tall, weighs 67#, energetic strong, friendly and likes to go on daily walks or go hiking. He needs training with a leash though. Bodhi had surgery in late 2023 for a mast cell tumor, is doing well, has had one ultrasound wellness follow-up and was pronounced clear, with a final follow-up scheduled for 5/17/24. He has been around small children, but because of his size and strength older children would be recommended.  He has been around other dogs, but not cats; he is very relaxed and "chill" with other dogs.  His foster mom thinks he would be a good candidate for a therapy dog. All potential fosters and adopters must complete an application, pay the $25.00 application fee and have a home visit before being considered for any dog.  If you reside in Arizona and are interested in adopting a dog like Bodhi from Arizona Golden Rescue, we recommend that you visit our website and complete the Online Adoption Application to begin the process.    http://arizonagoldenrescue.rescuegroups.org/info/adoption  WE DO NOT ADOPT OUTSIDE OF THE STATE OF ARIZONA.
