Story
Shiloh is a stunning female golden/ shepherd mix. What you can see is her beautiful physical features but what you can't see is her internal beauty. Shiloh is as sweet on the inside as she is on the outside . Always first in line for a little affection. Loves to slide down the hill in the grass on her belly ( so cute ). Loves her little siblings and friends and plays very well with the bigger dogs as well. Shiloh has quite the story to tell. She was born one of 11 puppies ( mom is a golden). I suppose our time frame wasn't working for the owner so she attempted to toss the whole litter over the fence at a local rescue. Thankfully there were cameras and alarms so she was unsuccessful. We immediately dropped what we were doing and headed straight down to Ms to get the full litter. Sasha is in a foster home in Memphis, Tn. Once we have an approved application , she will travel via Rescue Vet Transport to her new forever family. The transport travels every weekend ( leaving Memphis, Tn Friday morning around 6 am) making stops along the way to meet adopters to get their new pups ( transport is an additional $185) if you would like to make Shiloh part of your family we have included the link below to our adoption application for your convenience . Please keep in mind that our organization is 100% Volunteer run. We spend countless hours, perusing applications, calling vets, and speaking with potential adopters. If you receive an email or a text message from one of our associates that means your application has been approved. Out of respect for their time and efforts, we would appreciate a response back. If you have found another, pet, are no longer interested in adopting, are no longer interested in our pet, whatever the reason may be, please just acknowledge our communication. We have reached out to numerous adopters with no response back and it's very frustrating. Thank you for considering our sweet pups for adoption!

Story
Meet Miss Cora, a 2.5 year old Pitty/Retriever and a wonderful girl! She's potty trained, crate trained and loves to hop in the car with the windows open. She loves to play fetch with her favorite orange ball. Walks are short, as she'd rather play in the yard. Cora knows the commands to sit, paw and lie down and is highly motivated with treats! She takes them very gently. She loves her people. Sometimes she doesn't know her own size and can play a little hard, so older kids (teenagers) are best for her. If younger, slow intros are best until she knows to be softer. Cats are best with slow introduction as well. Cora is a kind soul and a momma to 11 babies!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.LEONARDO is available! Leonardo is a 2-and-1/2-year-old neutered male Golden Doodle, loving and with a heart of gold. His friendly demeanor and love for playtime make him an ideal companion for anyone seeking a loyal furry friend. Here are some highlights about Leonardo: Playful and Snuggly: Leonardo’s zest for life is contagious! He enjoys playing, chasing after tennis balls, and curling up on the couch for cuddle sessions. Basic Commands: Leonardo is a smart cookie! He already knows essential commands like “sit,” “stay,” and “down.” With a little extra training, he’ll be a well-mannered superstar. Best as an Only Dog: While Leonardo has experience living with another dog, he thrives when he’s the center of attention. His enthusiasm sometimes leads to playful jumps and mouthing, so a home where he’s the sole canine would be ideal. Kid-Friendly: Leonardo has interacted with kids aged 9 to 15 and aced the test! He’s been gentle and allowed them to pet him all over without any issues. Anxiety Management: Leonardo takes a small daily dose of fluoxetine to manage his anxiety. Loud noises, like fireworks, still spook him, but he finds comfort in being close to his human companions during those moments. Are you ready to welcome Leonardo into your heart and home? All potential fosters and adopters must complete an application, pay the $25.00 application fee and have a home visit before being considered for any dog.  If you reside in Arizona and are interested in adopting a dog like this from Arizona Golden Rescue, we recommend that you visit our website and complete the Online Adoption Application to begin the process.    http://arizonagoldenrescue.rescuegroups.org/info/adoption  WE DO NOT ADOPT OUTSIDE OF THE STATE OF ARIZONA. Once we receive your application and application fee, a home visit will be scheduled. Once your home visit is approved, you will be placed on our waiting list. (Please be aware that your application cannot be processed until the application fee is paid.) Our sole purpose is to find the perfect home for the dog as our dogs always come first.        Because we have new rescues coming in all the time, if the Golden that is the right dog for you is not available at this time it will probably come into Rescue and you would be notified of the availability.     Waiting times vary depending upon how specific your preferences are. The more you restrict the factors involved in choosing a dog – age, sex, coat color, etc. – the longer the wait may be before we find the perfect dog for you.  Please note: it is the policy of AGR not to place a dog less than 3 years of age with a family that has children less than 3 years of age.  If you have specific questions about our adoption process, please go to this link at our website.   https://arizonagoldenrescue.rescuegroups.org/info/display?PageID=20779  Arizona Golden Rescue is organized as an all-volunteer, non-profit, 501 (c) (3) corporation. We are a charitable organization whose mission is to rescue displaced Golden Retrievers and mostly Golden mixes that have been abused, abandoned, neglected or unwanted and find new, loving, permanent homes for them. Rescued dogs are given a complete veterinary exam and their vaccines are updated; they are also micro-chipped, spayed or neutered, and tested for valley fever and heartworm. AGR provides emotional and medical rehabilitation and will pay for medications and for necessary surgeries. Through education at public appearances, AGR seeks to educate the public about the Golden Retriever breed and about responsible dog ownership, in order to help reduce the unwanted dog population.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 26, 2024, 3:59 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. FOZZI is available! 24-033 Fozzi is a male golden retriever mix estimated to be about 4 years old.  We believe he is a Golden/Shepherd Mix.  He was found wandering in the desert.  He has been friendly with the people he has met, but somewhat afraid. It is our policy that since he was a stray he will not be placed in any household with children under age 12, and no visiting grandchildren please!  Fozzi was recently neutered on 6/14/24 and had some small growths removed from his eyelids, so will be recuperating with a foster family. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. TEDDY is available! 24-038 Teddy is a 4-year-old neutered male Golden Doodle.  Teddy began having seizures in January 2023, but due to some confusion on dosages and vet changes with his original family, he was having seizures periodically.  Once surrendered to AGR and put on a regular time schedule for his meds, his seizures were controlled. H e just (late July) had a neurology follow-up and has had NO seizures in the past month since his intake with AGR. He is currently with a foster and is described as social, fun, loveable, and good with other dogs. He loves to watch movies and tv - especially if there are dogs in the movie.  He loves to interact with people.
