Story
Mid-November, Nash was found wandering on a busy street in our neighborhood, a good samaritan picked him up and surrendered him to us. After posting him, no owners came forward, so he's now a Handover Rover dog! He has classic Golden Retriever energy, and is always in a great mood, walking around with his leash in his mouth ready to go on an adventure! Active, Sweet, and friendly to everyone! He does fantastic with dogs but is very playful. he may not be a good fit for an older dog not interested in romping around with him. No cats. Now, we're working on his leash manners and some dog leash reactivity. He's a very quick and soft learner, but we will be looking for someone willing to keep up his training after adoption and be comfortable implementing boundaries and structure. Prior to our Trial adoption, we will need to a few training sessions with his prospective new owner to ensure a good fit. If you're interested in adopting or learning more about Nashvill, fill out an application here: https://www.handoverrover.org/adoptionapplication

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hello my name is Oscar!  I had a rough start to life. We know that momma was a brindle pit mix and I look nothing like her! In fact I look nothing like any of my siblings. Dad was just a one night stand. We were told that dad was a golden retriever that runs the streets in the neighborhood we got them from.  Oscar is a sweet boy who enjoys other dogs (big and small) and has been around cats. He enjoys playing with toys and hanging out on his dog bed.  If your interested in Oscar please fill out an application at bbshonor.rescuegroups.org Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 11, 2024, 12:03 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. LEONARDO is available! Leonardo is a 2-and-1/2-year-old neutered male Golden Doodle.  He is a big boy at 86 lbs and needs to shed some more weight with the green bean diet. Leonardo is friendly, loves to play and needs lots of exercise.  He gets hyper excited and needs training to curb his enthusiasm and jumping. He has been fostered with other dogs, but he may do best in a home with no other dogs, as he can be very "mouthy" and intimidating. While he has never lived with children he has been around kids ages 9 to 15.  He knows sit, stay, down, come but sometimes chooses not to listen to come.  He will jump on people so before opening the door if you tell him "go get a toy" he will run to find a toy rather than jump. He needs more training on the leash as he pulls.  Leonardo is afraid of fireworks and loud noises and likes to be next to someone if that happens. He would benefit from additional basic training with proper benevolent leadership, structure, and socialization. All potential fosters and adopters must complete an application, pay the $25.00 application fee and have a home visit before being considered for any dog.  If you reside in Arizona and are interested in adopting a dog like this from Arizona Golden Rescue, we recommend that you visit our website and complete the Online Adoption Application to begin the process.    http://arizonagoldenrescue.rescuegroups.org/info/adoption  WE DO NOT ADOPT OUTSIDE OF THE STATE OF ARIZONA. Once we receive your application and application fee, a home visit will be scheduled. Once your home visit is approved, you will be placed on our waiting list. (Please be aware that your application cannot be processed until the application fee is paid.) Our sole purpose is to find the perfect home for the dog as our dogs always come first.        Because we have new rescues coming in all the time, if the Golden that is the right dog for you is not available at this time it will probably come into Rescue and you would be notified of the availability.     Waiting times vary depending upon how specific your preferences are. The more you restrict the factors involved in choosing a dog – age, sex, coat color, etc. – the longer the wait may be before we find the perfect dog for you.  Please note: it is the policy of AGR not to place a dog less than 3 years of age with a family that has children less than 3 years of age.  If you have specific questions about our adoption process, please go to this link at our website.   https://arizonagoldenrescue.rescuegroups.org/info/display?PageID=20779  Arizona Golden Rescue is organized as an all-volunteer, non-profit, 501 (c) (3) corporation. We are a charitable organization whose mission is to rescue displaced Golden Retrievers and mostly Golden mixes that have been abused, abandoned, neglected or unwanted and find new, loving, permanent homes for them. Rescued dogs are given a complete veterinary exam and their vaccines are updated; they are also micro-chipped, spayed or neutered, and tested for valley fever and heartworm. AGR provides emotional and medical rehabilitation and will pay for medications and for necessary surgeries. Through education at public appearances, AGR seeks to educate the public about the Golden Retriever breed and about responsible dog ownership, in order to help reduce the unwanted dog population.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 28, 2024, 10:30 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. BODHI is available! Bodhi is a neutered Golden Doodle approximately 3-and-1/2-years old.  He is tall, weighs 67#, energetic strong, friendly and likes to go on daily walks or go hiking. He needs training with a leash though. Bodhi had surgery in late 2023 for a mast cell tumor, is doing well, has had one ultrasound wellness follow-up and was pronounced clear, with a final follow-up scheduled for 5/17/24. He has been around small children, but because of his size and strength older children would be recommended.  He has been around other dogs, but not cats; he is very relaxed and "chill" with other dogs.  His foster mom thinks he would be a good candidate for a therapy dog. All potential fosters and adopters must complete an application, pay the $25.00 application fee and have a home visit before being considered for any dog.  If you reside in Arizona and are interested in adopting a dog like Bodhi from Arizona Golden Rescue, we recommend that you visit our website and complete the Online Adoption Application to begin the process.    http://arizonagoldenrescue.rescuegroups.org/info/adoption  WE DO NOT ADOPT OUTSIDE OF THE STATE OF ARIZONA. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. MILU is available! Milu is an 8-year-old neutered Golden Mix. We are not sure what he is mixed with, but he is really cute and small.  Loves to explore and run around, likes to play fetch and he is lovable.  He is a bit shy with new people at first then warms up.  He does not live with children but has been around children ages 7 and up.  He lives with another dog but has never been around cats.  He is a bit scared of loud noises and will hide. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. PIPPEN is available! Pippen is a 12-week-old intact English Cream Golden. He is a typical puppy and will require some normal training. Pippen is smart, crate trained and housetrained with just an occasional accident. He would do best in a home without small children or older frail dogs. He loves to play and needs a companion of equal stamina and playfulness. Pippen will be neutered at AGR's expense when he reaches the appropriate age. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. DAISY is available! Daisy is an estimated 1-year-old female golden doodle.  It is not known if she is spayed, but AGR will have spaying done if needed.  Her surrendering owner found her in their yard covered in cactus, so she needed some grooming. Daisy is a little timid but warms up quickly and is good with other dogs, cats and children.  She is a playful puppy and loves balls and squeaky toys. Daisy needs some training as she pulls on the leash.  She is eager to find her forever home! Hey there! I'm Monkey!I'm a handsome, sweet guy on the search for my furever family! I sometimes take a bit to warm up to new people, but once I get to know you I'm the most loyal and loving companion you could ask for! I'm just a goofy boy who is ready to play all day! I sure can put a smile on your face! I would prefer a home with adults who know how to respect my boundaries, in return I will show you all the love and fun I have to give. Some might say I am the perfect roommate since I have experience in a home and I'm already potty trained! I can't wait for all our playtimes, walks, and snuggle sessions together! I don't mind other dogs or even cats, as long as they are chill like me. I would like to meet any resident dogs before going home to ensure a good match. P.S. I LOVE treats! Everyone says I am such a good boy! If you're looking for a sweet, low-key, well-mannered companion, please come and meet me! Story
I got Kronus when she was just a puppy from a rescue. DNA tested through Wisdom Panel; Staffordshire Terrier, Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Doberman Pinscher and retriever mix. She has always been an inside /outside dog her entire life, and is bathroom trained. She loves the water- pools, baths, lakes, rivers, etc. She will be 10 this December and looking for a great home for her to go to. Very sweet, loves people, and is great around other dogs. Trying to also adopt her brother Kane, which I'm also going to post up, together with her since they have been together since they were puppies. Due to my work schedule, and upcoming life and family changes, I do not have the time or attention to properly give to her or her brother. She has always been a great dog and she deserves better than what I'm currently providing. I have a full medical history for her and all shots will be updated right before adoption. Please reach out for any additional information.
