Thank you for your interest in adopting! All of our animals are fostered in an Alabama Foster Home. We have been adopting to families in the northeast and New England for over 15 years. We look forward to working with you and helping you to adopt your next companion animal! Transportation is included in the adoption fee. We pay for every animal that we send North to a home. We do not own the van or the Transport business. All dogs and cats are spayed or neutered, age-appropriate vaccines, microchip, dewormed, receive parasite prevention, adult dogs are heartworm tested, and any dog that receives heartworm treatment is fully disclosed. Every pet comes with their full medical records. Sunny was found by a garbage truck driver lying in a pile of garbage next to the road. There were no other puppies or dogs around. We do not know his breed mix. We are estimating that he could be a medium sized dog, but we don't think he's going to be at the 55 pound range, maybe a smaller 35 pound medium. His coat is thick, not a short thin coat like some dogs. He is a love and happy to feel secure in foster care. His foster family look forward to speaking with you. $585 Total adoption fee $345 fee to rescue $175 transport cost $65 health certificate from Vet Transport delivers to adopters 3/27-3/28. Serious Adopters should fill out the easy application online and we will be in touch with you asap! Please copy and paste the link into your browser. APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application-pet-central-satx/ We must have an application to move forward. (Shayne's Rescue is an affiliate with PetCentralSATX). If there are problems with the website, please email me for help. FOREST is a very sweet male Golden Retriever mix we believe. DOB 10/15/2025…currently 26#s. He and his sister came into rescue from a family with “too many dogs”… not necessarily a hoarder but did not spay and neuter their adults. We have since been working with them to accomplish this. FOREST is going to be about 45-50#s when grown. He is sweet and easy going. He loves the other dogs, big and small, and left my cats alone except for trying to play with them occasionally. He also had the opportunity to be in our house with the other dogs…and even went outside multiple times a day for their potty run. He is not yet house broken but he’s getting there. This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. If you have any questions or would like an e-mail from us as to how all of this works, text me (Terry); identify the dog's name and give me your email address... 210-394-6060. You can also go to our Facebook page... https://www.facebook.com/Pet-Central-SATX-866684826744181/ and LIKE us to help us out. After we review your application, we will contact you, and you'll have the opportunity to find out more from the rescue. If you experience any issues filling out the application you can contact us directly at petcentralsatx@gmail.com. This is ONLY if you have problems applying. If you have not applied, you will not receive a response so please only email if you have any issues applying. Adoption Fees The adoption fee includes transportation to the NE. All pups and dogs are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed, have a negative heart worm test for all dogs over 6 months at time of transport, have a health certificate, and have all age-appropriate vaccinations. Some dogs/pups have additional medical, including but not limited to FHO, ACL, hernias, dental, and other vetting. All medical records will be provided to the adopter at the time they pick up their dog. This is a post on behalf of Pet Central SATX Rescue, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 350,000 homeless pets. We have hundreds of puppies/dogs available so there really is no need to apply anywhere else. Also, one application is good even if you are interested in several different dogs...one application no matter which one you choose. Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. We firmly believe there is NO breed other than "rescue" for all species. Thank you for being part of the village it takes to save these precious lives.

Story
Reggie is a big, fluffy “golden teddy bear” who lives for two things: a great play session and an even better couch cuddle- ideally in that order! He’s goofy, affectionate, and once he’s decided it’s time to rest, he turns into a full-body snuggle puddle who wants to be close, preferably on the couch with you. Simply, Reggie’s motto is “Play hard. Sleep hard.” Watch Reggie in action on YouTube (and fall in love responsibly): https://youtu.be/GkfXkf0BkqU Quick stats, Reggie is estimated to be around 3 years old and about 85 lbs. Breed is a best guess since he’s a rescue, but we’re seeing strong Golden Retriever + Great Pyrenees + maybe a sprinkle of Shepherd. Translation- big, handsome, Beyonce moment gorgeous coat, and a lot of Pixar-level-cuteness.. Let’s talk about what Reggie needs to succeed, do not be blinded by his good looks, you still have to get to know him. This boy is a social butterfly, he plays beautifully with dogs, passed a daycare evaluation with flying colors, and has that “let’s be friends!” vibe from go. Other scenarios can look different, passing a dog in a tight hallway, driving by a dog on the sidewalk, or a cutie friend across the street- this is when Reggie’s friendly nature gets the best of him and he looses his best-boy manners. Sounds like my five year old son in some ways. He will make it clear he wants to meet that dog usually by pulling himself their way or even barking, and given his size, if you are unaware of this it can be a lot to manage. This isnt Reggie being reactive, he just gets excited and frustrated that life isn’t all dog-parks and friends so spontaneous playmates could just happen. Basically, he wants to get to the exciting new friend, not hurt it. Although Reggie is an extrovert in the world, he loves coming home to recharge to himself. We all know those people, social extrovert with home-body introvert dedication. Simply, Reggie wants to live alone. Knowing this, here is what Reggies best-match home looks like: • A quieter environment (ideally a house, or at least low dog-traffic walks) where training can actually happen without constant surprises. • A solo-dog home • A person who’s ready to keep building on his training. . He is a smart boy and food-motivated, which makes him a great training partner. Channeling that is key! • A lifestyle that enjoys and supports the “Play hard. Sleep hard” lifestyle. Truly it is an environment all dogs thrive off of- a consistent routine, regular adventures and dog+dog playtime, along with enrichment that tires his brain out in a good way- think puzzle toys, snuffle mats, treat games, etc. Inside the home, Reggie has a ton going for him. He is perfectly content relaxing on his own and doesn’t get worried when you step out or are out of his site. He can occasionally use his bark to communicate but this is easily addressed wiith structure, enrichment, and the mindset that quiet earns rewards. He loves long-lasting chews like Whimzees and beef cheeks- if he is quiet he gets a long-lasting treat that only helps enforce that quiet contentedness. Reggie is both house and crate trained, we love that! Reggie is at ease and relaxes once he is in his crate but will hesitate about going in at first. His previous foster shares that this is easily addressed with routine and gentle training, really stressing that a little effort pays off fast. Now, we know Reggie loves an adventure and for most of us those big, fun adventures involve getting in a car. Reggie is all about getting in the car, he loves loves loves a window seat more than anything! But to Reggie, both sides of the car are his window-seat, Now it doesnt bother me one bit but just know, Reggie will bop back and forth while driving to catch the view on both sides. This is easy to remedy with secure buckling and a ‘car-calm” practice but i will tell you, its hard to be mad when you know he is just so excited by the big-wide-world and everything int it. Let’s not forget, beside those gorgeous good looks he is also an absolute sweetheart! Let’s hit the highlights- he is dog-social, affectionate, loves snuggling, and he’s been described as the kind of big lap dog who can’t get close enough once he knows you are playing for keeps. He also previously passed a cat test with calm curiosity, and because he can be bouncy when excited, we recommend kids 8+ so no one gets accidentally love-tackled. Please know, Reggie is NOT “too much dog”. We love honesty and know that the absolute best dog can be anything but if they are put into the wrong environment. Reggie is a great dog who needs the right environment for that greatness to shine. In that environment, you are guaranteed a boy with the happiest romps, snuggles galore, and one loyal, gorgeously glam dream sidekick. https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/68efc6d2773f3663c0039b10 Questions? Pancake Hi there! I’m Pancake, a sweet, extra-large serving of puppy goodness. My coat color is a gorgeous golden and I’ve got big feetsies with adorable white socks to match. I’m still growing into all this loose skin, so chances are I’m going to be a big, beautiful girl one day. Right now, I’m busy mastering the art of being a puppy. I love wrestling with other dogs, playing with toys, eating my meals with enthusiasm, cuddling close, and taking the very best naps. When I get really excited, my fur even stands up along my back like a little ridgeback. It’s pretty cute if I do say so myself. My housebreaking is going well. I’m about 90% there and only have the occasional accident. I’m crate trained and learning to walk on a leash like a pro. With a little consistency and love, I’ll have it down in no time. I would thrive with an active family who understands that big puppies grow into big dogs with even bigger hearts. If you’re looking for a loyal, playful, cuddly companion, I’m your girl. Please adopt me 💛 so I can start the best rest of my life with a furrever family! I hope that is you! Attributes: • Approximately 90% housebroken • Learning leash skills • Big paws, big heart Pancake is Spayed, Microchipped, Up to date on vaccines and preventions. $250 Local Adoption Fee (in Texas) $550 Out of State Fee (includes transport to your area)
