Story
Reggie is a big, fluffy “golden teddy bear” who lives for two things: a great play session and an even better couch cuddle- ideally in that order! He’s goofy, affectionate, and once he’s decided it’s time to rest, he turns into a full-body snuggle puddle who wants to be close, preferably on the couch with you. Simply, Reggie’s motto is “Play hard. Sleep hard.” Watch Reggie in action on YouTube (and fall in love responsibly): https://youtu.be/GkfXkf0BkqU Quick stats, Reggie is estimated to be around 3 years old and about 85 lbs. Breed is a best guess since he’s a rescue, but we’re seeing strong Golden Retriever + Great Pyrenees + maybe a sprinkle of Shepherd. Translation- big, handsome, Beyonce moment gorgeous coat, and a lot of Pixar-level-cuteness.. Let’s talk about what Reggie needs to succeed, do not be blinded by his good looks, you still have to get to know him. This boy is a social butterfly, he plays beautifully with dogs, passed a daycare evaluation with flying colors, and has that “let’s be friends!” vibe from go. Other scenarios can look different, passing a dog in a tight hallway, driving by a dog on the sidewalk, or a cutie friend across the street- this is when Reggie’s friendly nature gets the best of him and he looses his best-boy manners. Sounds like my five year old son in some ways. He will make it clear he wants to meet that dog usually by pulling himself their way or even barking, and given his size, if you are unaware of this it can be a lot to manage. This isnt Reggie being reactive, he just gets excited and frustrated that life isn’t all dog-parks and friends so spontaneous playmates could just happen. Basically, he wants to get to the exciting new friend, not hurt it. Knowing this, here is what Reggies best-match home looks like: • A quieter environment (ideally a house, or at least low dog-traffic walks) where training can actually happen without constant surprises. • A person who’s ready to keep building on his training. . He is a smart boy and food-motivated, which makes him a great training partner. Channeling that is key! • A lifestyle that enjoys and supports the “Play hard. Sleep hard” lifestyle. Truly it is an environment all dogs thrive off of- a consistent routine, regular adventures and dog+dog playtime, along with enrichment that tires his brain out in a good way- think puzzle toys, snuffle mats, treat games, etc. Inside the home, Reggie has a ton going for him. He is perfectly content relaxing on his own and doesn’t get worried when you step out or are out of his site. He can occasionally use his bark to communicate but this is easily addressed wiith structure, enrichment, and the mindset that quiet earns rewards. He loves long-lasting chews like Whimzees and beef cheeks- if he is quiet he gets a long-lasting treat that only helps enforce that quiet contentedness. Reggie is both house and crate trained, we love that! Reggie is at ease and relaxes once he is in his crate but will hesitate about going in at first. His previous foster shares that this is easily addressed with routine and gentle training, really stressing that a little effort pays off fast. Now, we know Reggie loves an adventure and for most of us those big, fun adventures involve getting in a car. Reggie is all about getting in the car, he loves loves loves a window seat more than anything! But to Reggie, both sides of the car are his window-seat, Now it doesnt bother me one bit but just know, Reggie will bop back and forth while driving to catch the view on both sides. This is easy to remedy with secure buckling and a ‘car-calm” practice but i will tell you, its hard to be mad when you know he is just so excited by the big-wide-world and everything int it. Let’s not forget, beside those gorgeous good looks he is also an absolute sweetheart! Let’s hit the highlights- he is dog-social, affectionate, loves snuggling, and he’s been described as the kind of big lap dog who can’t get close enough once he knows you are playing for keeps. He also previously passed a cat test with calm curiosity, and because he can be bouncy when excited, we recommend kids 8+ so no one gets accidentally love-tackled. Please know, Reggie is NOT “too much dog”. We love honesty and know that the absolute best dog can be anything but if they are put into the wrong environment. Reggie is a great dog who needs the right environment for that greatness to shine. In that environment, you are guaranteed a boy with the happiest romps, snuggles galore, and one loyal, gorgeously glam dream sidekick. https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/68efc6d2773f3663c0039b10 Questions? WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org Meet Creamsicle – The Golden-Hearted Girl Who Never Stopped Believing in Love At around 9 months old and 48 pounds, Creamsicle is a beautiful Golden Retriever–Great Pyrenees mix who somehow ended up with all the Golden personality and only the Pyrenees fluff. Sweet, friendly, eager, affectionate—this girl is sunshine in dog form. If Golden Retrievers had a motivational speaker division, Creamsicle would be the CEO. But her start wasn’t golden at all. Creamsicle spent her whole puppyhood tied to a tether outside a trailer, watching the world from a spot of dirt she never deserved. No toys. No soft beds. No one to run to. No one to run with. And yet… her heart never quit. When she first came to us, she had a little food aggression around other dogs—understandable when you’ve never known if your next meal was guaranteed. But with time, consistency, and the realization that she’s finally safe, Creamsicle has blossomed beautifully. She’s now doing wonderfully with her dog friends and has never shown an ounce of aggression toward people. Humans, in her eyes, are made of magic—especially the ones willing to pet her. And oh, does she love to be loved. She leans in, she wiggles, she smiles with her whole face. She gives love like she’s been storing it up for months—because she has. Creamsicle deserved so much more than what she got in her puppy months, but she refuses to dwell on the past. She’s too busy soaking up cuddles, handing out kisses, and living her best “I’m finally free!” life. Her capacity for forgiveness and joy would put most of us to shame. This girl is resilient, goofy, grateful, and ready. Ready for a family. Ready for a home. Ready to love—and to be loved back. If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle, funny, deeply affectionate companion with a heart big enough to light up your whole house… Creamsicle is your girl. Apply today at haydududeequine.org, and get ready to welcome a brave, bouncy, golden-hearted miracle into your arms, heart and home!! 🐾

Story
Maggie is a smart, outgoing girl with a calm and confident personality. She’s not aggressive at all and walks gently on a leash. Sometimes she may pause when she sees something new, but with a little time, she relaxes and keeps going. She loves her walks and does well with other dogs. Maggie is fully potty and house trained and prefers going out twice a day—morning and late afternoon. She’s very low maintenance and enjoys spending most of her time relaxing and napping. Maggie may be a mild flight risk and can be a little wiggly when it’s time to put on her leash, but once she knows it’s walk time, she’s happy to cooperate (and enjoys a little extra love too!). She’s looking for a patient, understanding home that will help her continue to grow into the best girl she can be. Maggie is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and currently undergoing heartworm treatment. If you’d like to make Maggie part of your family, please complete our adoption application. 🐾

Story
Margo is the kind of dog who stops people in their tracks—beautiful, soft, soulful, and radiating that unmistakable Golden Retriever sweetness. She came from a backyard breeder as an 8-week-old puppy, advertised as a Goldendoodle, but as she grew, it became clear that her heart and her heritage lean almost entirely Golden. Born on 2/7/23 and now weighing about 50 pounds, she has matured into a graceful, gentle young girl who wants nothing more than to be loved. Her original family adored her and provided her with a safe, caring home, but unexpected personal challenges arose—difficult ones that prevented them from giving her the consistency, time, and attention she truly deserved. They made the painful, selfless decision to ask for help in finding her a new family, wanting Margo to live her best possible life. And what a gift this girl will be to her new home. Margo is sweetness personified. She is friendly with every dog she meets, respectful and calm around cats, and gentle enough to be trusted with young children. She needs to be in a home of no small dogs - she thinks they are playthings. Her temperament is exactly what people love about Golden Retrievers—steady, affectionate, intuitive, and endlessly kind. She greets new people with a soft smile and happy tail as if welcoming them into her world. Margo is still young and doesn’t have many commands under her belt, but she is a blank slate in the best possible way. She watches her people carefully, eager to understand what’s expected of her, and she responds beautifully to gentle guidance. With patience and routine, she will blossom into a perfectly mannered companion. A fenced yard would be ideal for her—she loves the freedom to run, sniff, and stretch those young, energetic legs. She hasn’t had nearly enough opportunities for outdoor play or structured exercise, so a family who values activity and time outside will help her thrive. After playtime, she’ll settle in beside you with that soft Golden warmth that makes every house feel more like home. Margo is the whole package: beauty, personality, intelligence, and a heart full of love. She is ready for the stability of a forever home where she won’t have to transition again—a place where she can grow up, bond deeply, and be cherished every day. If you’ve been dreaming of a young Golden mix with all the emotional intelligence and gentle spirit the breed is famous for, Margo could truly be your once-in-a-lifetime dog. She is hoping to find her new family just in time for the holiday season. To apply for this beautiful girl, email ccrnewengladn@gmail.com. Margo is ready for her fresh start. &#226&#156&#168PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJanuary 24, 2026, 5:58 pm

Story
Buster is a gorgeous Golden Retriever mix who is a young adult (about 2 years old). He lives with dogs of all sizes and gets along with everyone but he is dominant over food so I feed him separately. He also lives with cats and kittens and has never tried to chase them and doesn't really pay attention to them. He is low-to-medium energy in general but has the stamina to go on long hikes, etc. He is not a barker and not a jumper and not a bolter. He likes to be petted. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take him in or he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue (copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tacoma, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Michigan (St Joseph, Battle Creek, Ann Arbor) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) - New Jersey (Bedminster) - Nevada (Las Vegas) - Arizona (Flagstaff) - Vermont (Brattleboro) Vetting: neutered, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection, heartworm tested (negative).
