Story
Gentle ZIGGY is a beautiful, shy girl looking for a home. She's around 5 years old and 34 pounds. We do know a bit of her history, her mama was a pure-bred golden retriever, so her daddy must have been a smaller dog to account for her size. You can see the golden undertones in her gorgeous medium-length coat. Ziggy spent her life living on a farm and as a result she's shy in new surroundings and when meeting new people. She was surrendered to a rural shelter and we pulled her because we knew she would crumble in that environment. She has a lovely disposition and so wants to trust and be loved. She needs a home with a patient adopter willing to take some time to earn her trust. Ziggy seeks out the companionship of other dogs and needs a home with another friendly dog who can help her navigate life. She's housebroken and fine with cats. She needs a home with a physically-fenced yard. If you'd like to meet Ziggy and you're willing to take the time to earn her trust, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Ziggy at our weekly adoption event, Saturday 11:30am-1:30pm at PetSmart Eastgate. Our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed and current on flea and tick and heartworm prevention. PLEASE NOTE! WE ARE A TEXAS-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY IN TEXAS AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO YOUR STATE ONCE ADOPTED. Our adoption application can be found at haydudeequine.org. Well, hello there. I'm Bark Twain. Yes, the name is a literary masterpiece. And unlike my namesake, I prefer chewing toys over writing novels. I'm a 6-month-old pup weighing in at about 40 pounds, and I've got plenty more growing (and goofiness) left to do. If you're looking for a tiny purse pup, I accidentally wandered into the wrong story. But if you've been searching for a loyal adventure buddy with a big personality, you've reached the right chapter. I'm a happy-go-lucky guy who thinks every day should include something fun. Hiking? Count me in. Playing fetch? Absolutely. Splashing in the water? Now you're speaking my language! I love other dogs, adore people, and I'm always convinced the next person I meet is going to be my new best friend. Like any good puppy, I'm still polishing up my manners. I'm smart, eager to learn, and food is a pretty convincing teacher. With a little guidance and consistency, I'll grow into an incredible companion who's as loyal as he is lovable. My perfect family will appreciate my playful spirit, my growing size, and my enthusiasm for life. In return, I'll provide endless laughs, unconditional love, and enough tail wags to keep everyone smiling. As Mark Twain once said, "The secret of getting ahead is getting started." So let's get started on our happily ever after. Love, Bark Twain 🐾📖

Looking for a dog to add to your family? Meet Denver! ❤️🐾🐶 We've been fostering him for 2 weeks and he is the sweetest and most gentle boy. He is around 8 years old. While he doesn't have that crazy puppy energy anymore, he still loves to gallop in the grass, carrying his toys or sticks around and he zooms around like a champ. My favorite thing about him is how he carries around a toy in his mouth all over the house and his yard.🧸 The shelter found him in an abandoned car. He is very loving, calm, and gentle with people. He knows sit, paw, laydown, and a partial roll over. He is potty and crate trained. He has not yet been around other dogs or kids since we've had him. Please reach out to me if you or anyone you know is interested in meeting him! Text Christina at 513-739-1363 Video at https://www.facebook.com/share/r/18ZDBQnPFj/?mibextid=wwXIfr

Story
Sadie is a wonderful dog. She was found a field and because of this she is very shy. It takes her a little longer than usual to trust people. She does not like being on a leash if she does not know where she is going. Sadie does amazing in a fenced in yard where she knows her boundaries. Sadie was trained and can follow commands.

Story
Meet Marge! Margie is the sweetest 5-year-old, female Goldendoodle who currently weighs 80 pounds. A puppy mill survivor, she is ready to leave her past behind and discover how good life can be! Margie is sweet, gentle and shy! She is slowly starting to come out of her shell in her foster home and would love a patient adopter to continue to help her build confidence and learn that humans are kind. Margie loves napping on a blanket and watching the world around her, she also enjoys tasting yummy treats! She has started to show trust and affection towards her foster parents and wags her tail when she sees them. For a girl who is scared of the world around her - this is huge progress! Margie has been fostered with an adult cat and a small kitten, and she has done great with them both. She has also interacted with other dogs and done well! Margie would do best in a calm and quiet environment as she gets spooked by sudden/loud noises and quick movements. She is lower energy and learning how to walk on a leash which will take continued patience and practice. She has not yet had an accident in her foster home and appears to be house-trained. Margie is not a fan of her crate and prefers to be out in the house. She does not need to be crated at night or when her foster parents are away from the home. Margie’s weight was neglected in the puppy mill, so she will need an adopter dedicated to continue her weight loss journey. It is a true honor to earn this girl’s trust, and she will reward you greatly with her constant companionship. Margie is currently being fostered in Cincinnati, OH and her adoption fee is $450. "To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal."
