Story
Meet Ruthie! Ruthie is a 5.5 year old, 40 pound Mini Goldendoodle, who loves lazy days and cuddling with her people.
Ruthie is a sweet, gentle soul who is leaving behind her tough past as a puppy mill mama and is ready to find her perfect forever family. At a medium size of 40 pounds, Ruthie is a little on the heavier side, so she’s working on shedding a few pounds to feel her best.
Having come from a puppy mill, Ruthie is a bit shy and takes her time to trust new people. However, once she bonds, she’s all about enjoying quality time with her humans, especially loving head scratches and belly rubs. Ruthie is a calm, low-energy dog who prefers lounging around and keeping close to her people rather than being overly active.
Ruthie is currently fostered with three larger dogs, and although she's not much into playing, she gets along well with them and enjoys their company. She’s happy to just be nearby, soaking in the peaceful atmosphere. Ruthie is crate-trained, and sometimes even seeks comfort and peace in her crate, whether it’s for a nap or when her foster parents are at work. She sleeps soundly through the night and has been perfect with her potty training, having never had an accident in the house or her crate. She’s learned the ropes by following the example of her foster dog siblings.
While Ruthie is a bit shy and skittish, she does wonderfully with older children and is looking for a calm, loving home where she can continue to thrive. A noisy or high-energy environment might be too much for her, but in the right setting, Ruthie will make a loving, loyal companion.
If you’re looking for a sweet, low-key dog who just needs a little patience to warm up, Ruthie could be the perfect addition to your family!
Ruthie is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area, and her adoption fee is $450.
Ruthie is a Patron Pup. Patron Pups have higher adoption fees due to varying reasons and are adopted quickly, even with these higher adoption fees. They may be purebred, a highly desirable breed, small in size fully grown, etc. These fees allow them to act as patrons to other pets in our care who may not be as adoptable, or have ongoing costs for medical care, contributing to a longer time in rescue, and therefore a higher cost for us to care for them. Patron Pups allow us to continue rescuing these other animals and give them a better chance at finding their forever homes as well.
To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt
All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
