Story
Meet Romy!
This adorable 1-year-old, 40lb Golden Retriever/Poodle mix, with a bit of terrier charm, is ready to steal your heart. Her father was a mini Goldendoodle mix, known for their intelligence and loving nature, while her mom was a scruffy mutt. Romy is all about love, giving kisses, cuddling, and sticking close to her favorite people.
Romy was adopted as a puppy but returned to rescue due to her adoptive mother's health issues. It's clear that her puppy behaviors weren't corrected or redirected initially so she still acts very much like a puppy. Romy is quickly adjusting to the environment in her new foster home. She is fostered with dogs similar in size and smaller than her. Romy will need an adopter who is committed to providing her with the consistency and structure she needs to become the bestest girl.
Romy's a quick learner, she already knows "sit" and always has a paw up to shake. She gets along great with everyone she meets—both humans and other dogs. Romy thrives on positive reinforcement and loves being praised for good behavior...she is very eager to please. Romy is still learning her leash manners, so it's important to continue reinforcing what she is learning, or have a physically fenced yard so she can run and play until her heart's content. Her favorite things include her stuffed toys with and without squeakers and Nyla-Bones.
If you're looking for a sweet, affectionate companion who’ll shower you with kisses every time you walk through the door and loves to sleep at the foot of your bed, Romy might just be your perfect match!
Romy is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. Her adoption fee is $275.00.
To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt
All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
