Violet is a love bug to her people but cautious of others until trust is built. She takes her role as her family's protector very seriously. She is thought to be a German Shepherd and Golden Retriever mix. She was born July 25, 2023, weighs 53 pounds, is fully vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, HW negative and on preventative. She sleeps all night in her crate and is house trained. Due to Violet's rough start in life she will need a family with patience, allowing her to bond in her own time by giving her love, positive reinforcement and remembering that it's a journey not a race. Once she gains your trust she's likely to cuddle like a baby with her people, play with her chew toys and will love going on walks. Her ideal home is one where the mom or dad work from home or part time and has a doggie friend to play with. She does okay with respectful cats, but does try to herd anything that moves faster than a walk whether it is other dogs, cats or humans both young and old. She sees any type of fowl as a chew toy so we recommend a home without pet birds or chickens. A fenced yard and vet reference are required. Nala is a 4yr old spayed female Golden Retriever mix that weighs 87lbs. She came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 5/19 as a owner surrender. Reason for surrender was due to having to many pets. She did come in with another pup named Kellie and they find comfort in spending time together. Its been difficult for Nala adjusting to the shelter so she will receive as much decompression time she needs. Its easy to see she hasn’t had the best life so far, but we will continue to spend time with her, give her TLC and some brushing we know she will warm up more. She is sweet, gentle, well mannered and calm and hope that her next family will love her, provide her a secured yard to play in, yet live indoors where she has her own puppy bed to lounge in, and cuddle close to her human companions. Can you give this girl the life she deserves inside with you? Come spend time with her!!

Meet Kelly! She is a 5yr old female spayed golden retriever mix that weighs 84lbs. She came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 5/19 as a owner surrender due to having too many animals. She is a beautiful girl tho easy to see she hasn’t had the best life. We plan on turning that around for her. With a healthy diet, spending time with her, she will become more comfortable and blossom. She didn’t show much interest in treats or toys, yet with time I’m sure that will change. Tho she came in with her sibling, we do ask if you have another dog in the home please ask the shelter for a dog test. Or if you have room for two wonderful girls, Kelly and her sister Nala would be the perfect pair. She is a really sweet and gentle soul, that would love to have a secured yard to play in, but most definitely live indoors with her own comfy dog bed, enjoying her time with her loving human companions.

One of his best qualities is how easygoing and dependable he is. He enjoys spending time with people but is also content relaxing by your side. This is an incredibly difficult decision, and I am only making it because I want him to have the stability, care, and loving home he deserves. I hope he can find a family that will appreciate his sweet personality as much as I do.
