What we know: Mom and 4 puppies transferred from Shelter Support Network in Oklahoma, puppies were fully vetted and altered mom still needed spay due to recent nursing.
From the foster: Meet Oreo
One look into Oreo's sweet brown eyes and you'll understand why everyone falls for him. This handsome black-and-white pup is equal parts cuddle bug, goofball, and adventure buddy in training. Oreo is a young puppy with a heart full of love, a stomach that's always ready for snacks, and a playful personality that keeps everyone smiling.
Like any puppy, Oreo is still learning the basics of being a great canine citizen. He is making wonderful progress with potty training, crate training, and household manners, and he's eager to learn, especially when treats are involved. With patience, consistency, and plenty of love, Oreo is sure to grow into an incredible companion.

Favorite Things
Food
If it's edible, Oreo wants to know about it. He is incredibly food-motivated, which has made training much easier. He responds very well to treats and positive reinforcement and loves learning new things when snacks are involved.
Chew Toys
Oreo loves to chew, and durable chew toys are some of his favorite possessions. Like many puppies, he's still learning what belongs to him and what belongs to you. If he picks up a shoe or other forbidden treasure, a quick redirect to a chew toy usually solves the problem.
His Humans
Above all else, Oreo loves being with his people. Whether it's playing, cuddling, following you from room to room, or simply hanging out nearby, he's happiest when he's included. Give him affection and he'll return it tenfold.
Fetch... Maybe
Oreo loves the excitement of a game. Bringing the toy back consistently is a skill he's still perfecting.
Potty Training
Let's be honest: Oreo is a puppy and puppies have accidents.
When Oreo first arrived in foster care, everything was new and a little overwhelming. During his first day, most potty breaks happened indoors. By the second day, he was already beginning to signal when he needed to go outside and was having much more success. Shortly afterward, he figured out that heading for the back door was the fastest route to a bathroom break.
He's not fully house-trained yet, and occasional accidents are still part of puppy life, especially when he's excited or distracted. The good news is that he's shown tremendous progress in a short amount of time and clearly understands the concept. With continued consistency, supervision, and positive reinforcement, Oreo is well on his way.
Crate Training
Oreo is not a huge fan of being confined. If placed in a crate or x-pen, he may file a formal complaint with management in the form of a little whining and barking. Fortunately, his complaints are usually short-lived. After a few minutes, he settles down and sleeps comfortably. He has been sleeping in his crate for much of the night. Because of his young age, he still needs regular potty breaks and has occasionally had crate accidents, which is perfectly normal for a puppy.
Kids and Other Pets
Oreo's current foster home does not have children or cats, so his foster family cannot personally speak to those interactions. However, he arrived with notes indicating he does well with both kids and other dogs. He has shown a strong interest in playing with the resident foster dogs. While some older dogs aren't always enthusiastic about his endless puppy energy, Oreo's friendly and outgoing personality suggests he'll enjoy making friends wherever he goes.
Leash Manners
Since Oreo is still completing his puppy vaccinations, he hasn't spent much time exploring the outside world on leash. He wears a collar and harness comfortably, but he currently sees the leash as a fascinating toy that occasionally follows him around. Like many puppy skills, leash walking is still a work in progress.
Car Rides
Oreo has joined his foster family on some trips around town and has done great in the car. He has not shown any signs of motion sickness and generally settles in nicely for the ride. As with any puppy, he should always travel safely secured with an appropriate tether, seat belt, or crate.
Oreo's Ideal Home
Oreo is looking for a family that understands puppyhood comes with patience, training, supervision, and lots of love. He's affectionate, playful, curious, and full of potential. While he still has plenty to learn, he's already proving to be a smart little guy who wants to please his people.
