Story
Ramsey is a charming almost 9-year-old, 60-pound Goldendoodle with a heart full of love and a personality that will keep you smiling. He’s being rehomed by his family due to concerns around his behavior with their young children. While he adores adults and bonds quickly with his people, Ramsey has shown that he is not comfortable around small kids and requires a home without kids.
Despite these challenges, Ramsey is an affectionate, loyal, and downright hilarious companion. He’s a bit of a goofball, and he’ll keep you laughing every day.
Though he’s almost 9 years old, he has the energy and spirit of a young dog and plenty of wonderful years ahead! Ramsey thrives in an active home where he can join you for daily walks or runs, play fetch, and get those oh-so-perfect scratches behind his ears. He’s also a pro at switching into couch-potato mode, happily lounging around while soaking up attention. He’s used to an owner working from home, and getting regular exercise and potty breaks.
This smart boy is house-trained, crate-trained, and knows several commands like sit, shake, and lay down. He’s great on a leash and absolutely loves meeting new people — his excitement is contagious. He currently sleeps on a bed beside his owner but also enjoys snoozing in his crate.
Ramsey is a lovable guy who absolutely adores people, though he can be unpredictable with other dogs and has shown that he does not like other dogs. A home without other dogs and that doesn't mind keeping him away from other dogs on walks is best for him. He currently lives with a cat and gets along just fine, occasionally giving chase but never showing aggression.
He’s a bit nervous during thunderstorms and will need some extra love and comfort in those moments.
While he’s not one to raid the trash, he does have a soft spot for bread left on the counter!
Ramsey requires grooming every 6–ish weeks and regular brushing.
What Ramsey Needs in a Home:
- A fenced yard where he can run and play
- An active owner or couple who enjoys the outdoors and doesn't mind pulling him to the side on walks or hikes to let other dogs pass.
- A home without other dogs—he prefers being the one and only pup
- A child-free environment - this includes visiting grandkids, etc.
- A loving family ready to give him the attention, structure, and fun he deserves
Ramsey isn’t the best match for homes with other dogs or small children, but in the right environment, he is an incredible, affectionate, and joyful companion. If you’re looking for a furry best friend to hike with, snuggle up beside, and laugh with every day, Ramsey just might be your perfect match.
