Story
Hi, I’m Sophia! I’m a 3 year-old Poodle weighing about 60 pounds, and I’m as loving and loyal as they come. I’m already spayed, housebroken, and ready to make myself right at home with my new family. My current owner is moving to Texas and sadly can’t take me along, so I’m hoping to find a new place to call forever. I’m great with kids and other dogs, and I have a sweet, gentle personality with just a touch of goofy energy—sometimes I get so excited I do a little jump! I’m very food motivated, which makes me an eager learner, and I absolutely love curling up in my crate at night for some cozy rest. I’d thrive in a home with a yard where I can stretch my legs, explore, and play before settling in for some cuddles. If you think I might be the perfect new addition to your family, please apply to adopt me at https://peace4paws.org/adoption-application from your laptop or computer. I can’t wait to meet you and start our new chapter together! If you have specific adoption or foster questions, please email: judy.atchison@yahoo.com THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN RESCUING A DOG! Story
I got Pluto from pawrade. I wasn’t planning to get a dog but fell in love with him as soon as I saw him. I got him to be a companion to my dad, but unfortunately my dad is older and it is difficult for my dad to take care of him. Pluto is full of energy. He loves running and playing with his friends. He is good with every dog, big or small- he loves to play with everyone! Very good with people and children as well. We’ve never had a problem at all, except that he loves to play and run around a lot. He is now 3 1/2 years old and we are devastated to have to give him away. In a new home, I am looking for someone who is extremely loving because I show him love and affection and he loves me so much and so I want someone who can give him the same energy. Preferably someone with kids where he will always have something to do and to play with. If no kids, at least a big backyard that he can run around in, but loving. He comes from a champion bloodline so he LOVES to run and be free outside.

Story
Winsely - 8 months & 17lbs, Poodle Mix, Neutered  This puppy is eligible to join our foster-to-adopt program. Please email fostertoadopt@socialteesnyc.org with the animal’s name in the subject line if you are interested! Want to straight up adopt? Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org Level of dog ownership experience required:INTERMEDIATE – As an adult, this dog will need significant structure and plenty of daily exercise, training, and mental stimulation – 90 consecutive minutes of movement in the morning plus potty break walks and brain games throughout the day. The adopter must have relevant primary care experience with a similar breed, temperament, and/or energy level. (Primary care experience includes ownership, fostering, or dog sitting as an adult, not a dog you grew up with.) Relevant puppy care experience is a huge plus, but bare minimum the adopter must have TONS of time and patience. Raising a puppy can be a lot of fun, but it’s also  tremendous work. Puppies’ personalities and exercise/stimulation requirements change dramatically between now and when they’re a year old as their bodies and brains develop, so an active lifestyle and the ability to adapt to a pup’s evolving needs are a must. We strongly urge professional dog training with a rewards based trainer from the get go. Adults only or kids ages 8 and up – all puppies go through a mouthy, rambunctious phase and often accidentally hurt children when playing. PLEASE DO YOUR OWN BREED RESEARCH to make sure you have a better understanding of the kind of temperament and exercise requirements this dog may have as an adult. Energy level:MEDIUM – Very young puppies sleep and nap a lot, but their energy level skyrockets when they become teens (4 months to around a year). As an adult, this dog will need significant structure and plenty of daily exercise, training, and mental stimulation – 90 consecutive minutes of movement in the morning plus potty break walks and brain games throughout the day at a minimum. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they’re understimulated.)  Potty trained?Working on this skill. Puppies under 12 weeks old are often on track with their wee pad skills, but they’re too young to walk outside in public NYC areas yet because they haven’t finished their puppy vaccine series. Puppies older than 12 weeks are usually learning to do their business outside. Potty training takes a lot of patience, consistency, and clean up.  Social with dogs?Yes. Some puppies are shy, others are bold, but all have the potential to be taught healthy socializing skills. It’s a huge part of raising a puppy and must be done carefully. How they interact with other dogs depends largely on how their humans help them learn to.  Social with children?  (ALWAYS requires adult supervision)Sort of – some puppies enjoy interacting with children, others get easily overwhelmed by their energy and attention. Regardless, most puppies are not a great match for a home with kids under age 8 because they go through intense mouthy play and rambunctious phases and often accidentally hurt young kids while playing. Children must always be monitored and taught to interact with dogs of any age respectfully.   Social with cats?Yes. Most puppies have the potential to be friends with a cat. It’s on the adopter to know their cat’s temperament and preferences and to teach their puppy respectful manners.  Mouthy play: High! All puppies go through phases where they chew your stuff and grab your hands, arms, feet… puppies naturally explore the world, play, and test boundaries with their mouths. (It also happens when they’re teething.) Their teeth are super sharp, so it can be a very painful phase for humans and other animals in the home. Proper training, outlets, and socialization are key. Separation anxiety:Most puppies have some level of separation anxiety as they learn to self soothe. Often they cry the first 10+ minutes at night or when they are left home alone or in a crate. Consistent training and alone time is crucial. Leash manners:None or learning, depending on the puppy’s age. Will need to work on this skill.   Crate trained?Probably not. None of our new puppies have been formally trained, but many of our foster parents/adopters choose to crate train so some of the puppies that have been with us for a little while are learning this skill. It can be a great way to keep puppies safe and teach them independence. Medical status:Healthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP and Bordetella vaccines, spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake. (For dogs under 4 months old, adopters will need to finish the DHPP vaccine series and administer the Rabies vaccine at 16 weeks of age.) How did this dog end up with Social Tees? Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee, Los Angeles, and Puerto Rico. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives.  PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses.  This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes. LEARN MORE ABOUT US: socialteesnyc.org and Instagram @socialteesnyc ##2743468##

Story
Cashman is a handsome, quiet Standard Poodle that has gone through some life upheavals that he needs to put in his rearview mirror very soon. There has been no neglect, just anxiety from his humans that was passed along to him.  We are looking for a place in life that will not leave him for long hours in the house alone.  There are so many good situations that he would thrive in.  Kids would be perfect if they are in the home.  He is good with other dogs, cats, meeting new people is totally easy for him and he loves to load up easily in a car and go for rides.  He is housebroken, crate trained and so very loving and easy to live with.  He is 3 years old and weighs 56 pounds and could easily put on another 5-10 pounds of good muscle weight.  We have published a BEFORE picture of him when he came to Critter Cavalry Rescue.  We quickly  had him groomed and now he features a handsome Summer cut.  He was a dream at the groomer and she took the AFTER pictures of him in her beautiful garden.  This boy is not a train wreck l like so many rehomes.  He is a sweet dog that needs a stable family that provides him with no reasons to be anxious and alone for long periods of time.  Dogs are such a reflection of their environments and we are looking for a Norman Rockwell family if that still exists!   :-)  Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested.  He is in excellent health and a most sensitive heart with so much love to give.  PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 25, 2026, 1:52 pm
