Story

Kiwi is an 11-month-old Goldendoodle who is looking for a new home because a child in his current family has severe allergies. He's expected to weigh around 70 pounds when fully grown. Kiwi is a friendly, playful boy who loves attention, interaction and spending time with his people. He enjoys going for walks and gets very excited when meeting other dogs. He's also housebroken! Kiwi is vaccinated but has not yet been neutered. He's looking for a loving family who can give him plenty of attention, exercise and playtime! ADOPTION PROCESS: 1. You must begin our adoption process by applying to adopt on clawsadopt.org. Please do NOT inquire via Petfinder, social media messengers or in our comments. We will only be looking at applications! 2. Please make sure you fill out our adoption application COMPLETELY. We may not be able to respond to applications that are not completely filled out with the proper information. Side note: on our applications, the more details you provide = the better. 3. We prefer applicants live within 60 miles of Closter, NJ. (Applicants who live farther away may still apply. However, please note we do prioritize local applications as we try our best to serve our local community first.) 4. Please respect our organization, our volunteers and our process. As a reminder, our organization is a nonprofit. We receive no money from the state. We have no paid employees! This is a polite reminder that we are doing our best to make the right decisions for the animals in our care. Thank you. Story

Meet Oliver, aka Ollie ❤️ Ollie is almost 7 years old, but don’t let his age fool you — he still has the energy of a toddler! He is an incredibly affectionate, loving boy who wants nothing more than to be around his people and get attention 24/7. He loves cuddling, being included, and making his humans feel like they’re his whole world. Ollie absolutely loves kids and does well around other dogs. Ideally, we would love for him to go to a home where he can be the only dog, especially because he really enjoys having his person’s attention to himself. We’re looking for someone who has the space, time, patience, and love to give him the attention and activity he deserves. This is an extremely difficult decision for our family. Ollie has been a part of our lives for many years and is deeply loved. Unfortunately, I lost my job almost six months ago, and financially things have become extremely difficult for our household. We also recently moved into a much smaller apartment.

Story

Kobe is a very beautiful and handsome 2-year-old and 64-lb Doodle — but please read his description carefully, as he is a dog that needs consistent training with clear boundaries. Kobe was surrendered by a family with young children and his energy was too much for their growing family. When he first arrived at Pet Rescue, he was full of pent-up energy which resulted in excessive barking, jumping, and mouthiness. One of our volunteers took him under her wing and discovered that the best approach is to calm him first. Speaking to him in a soft, calm voice, petting him with soothing strokes, and rewarding calm behavior has made all the difference. When he is relaxed, he can go for a walk. High-value treats, reassurance, and calm pets help redirect him when passing people and other dogs. Once he trusts you, he is affectionate, calm, and much easier to handle. He walks nicely beside you, does not pull, and shows little reactivity. When he is overstimulated, he becomes jumpy and mouthy. Kobe will need regular exercise where he can run off his energy and then he enjoys quiet affection. He is intelligent, eager to please, and most of all, wants to be part of a family. Kobe is looking for a calm home (without young children) with a consistent daily routine that provides him with structure, boundaries, and exercise. If you think you are Kobe's perfect match, please submit an application directly to Petrescue website at www.ny-petrescue.org and we will set an appointment. Only applications submitted directly to Petrescue will be considered.

Story

Linda is a 3 year old white Golden doodle, she is house trained and has lived with chindren all her life. Linda is crate trained and potty trained as well. She is very affectionate and learns new tricks quite fast. We have had her since she was a puppy, she has lived in an apartment and house and I can say she adaps pretty well. Linda does not bark unless she hears an outsider usually at night she alerts only. She has never had any behavioral incidents. She understands boundaries, as we have trained her to be around other people as well. She knows how to be on a crate and can also be left free in a open space when no one is around. We are in the process of moving to a new location and unfortunately we wont be able to keep her. We are trying to find her a new owner, preferely affectionate and that loves dogs.
