Story
Meet Superman. 🦴❤️🦸‍♂️Superman spent some time in a foster home over the weekend, and here's what we learned about the amazing companion he is!Superman is a gentle giant with the kind of quiet, dopey charm that sneaks up on you. As a 9 year old senior fella, he’s not into toys or chasing balls. He’s more of a soft bed, full belly, long nap kind of guy. Give him a warm meal (bonus points for scrambled eggs) and he’s genuinely happy.🥹 (We humans could learn a thing or two about happiness from a dog like Superman.)He’s easygoing in the best way. Whatever you’re doing, he’s content to wag along. Car rides? He’s excellent -- always claiming shotgun. Snow and ice? You can miss him with that. Superman prefers to stay tucked in bed, thanks. This sweet boy has been loved before and has clearly lived a full life. Even so, his huge heart still has so much love left to give, and he gives it freely. 🥰 He’s doing well with house and crate training (he slept the full night last night undisturbed) and he seems very friendly and gets along well with the dogs. He does well with men and women and was friendly and sweet with the neighbor’s kids over the weekend as well! Superman is 9 years old and heartworm positive. The good news: MOAS covers his heartworm treatment, but we can’t start it until he’s in a foster or permanent home.If you’ve ever thought about fostering or opening your home to a senior dog who truly appreciates the simple comforts, Superman would be incredibly grateful. And so would we.To set up a meet and greet with Sampson, call the shelter or email coordinator@moaspets.com or apply for him here --> https://www.moaspets.com/adoptionapp Let’s give this good boy the cozy next chapter he deserves. 🐾💙Please call the shelter at (706) 795-2868 to schedule a meet and greet.Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter is a non-profit shelter serving over 720 square miles. We are open intake, meaning we can not turn away animals from either county we serve. Our shelter intakes double or triple it's capacity every month so it is essential we place animals quickly into adoptive homes. Since so many animals enter the shelter we often don't have enough volunteers to write an individual bio for each. Please feel free to call the shelter Wednesday-Sunday to inquire about the animal you are interested in. 706-795-2868.Viewing and adoption hours at our shelter are Wednesday through Sunday from 12 PM to 5 PM. All adoption fees include age-appropriate vaccinations, flea treatment, deworming, and spay or neuter, microchip, and adoption packet. Fees:Dogs over 6 months old: $100Puppies under 6 months: $200. Cats and Kittens are $75 ($65 without microchip). For your convenience you can fill out an adoption application for any of our current residents at www.moaspets.com. We are located at:1888 Colbert Danielsville Rd Danielsville, GA 30633 706-795-2868NOTE: Our adoptions are first come first served, simply filling out an application does not mean the animal will be held for you, you must come meet the animal in person in order to be considered for adoption. If you rent you must bring your lease or a letter from your landlord stating you may adopt.

Story
Winston is a gentle giant with a heart as big as his 70-pound frame. At 7 years old, this laid back boy is the perfect match for a family looking for a calm, affectionate companion who’s happiest just lounging around the house. We suspect Winston is a mix of Great Dane , which explains both his size and his sweet, loyal nature. While he’s strong, Winston isn’t the high-energy type, he’d much rather nap in a sunny spot, stretch out under your feet, or army crawl across the carpet (one of his favorite things!). He’ll play a little with other dogs, but he tires quickly and is always happy to get back to relaxing. Winston is currently undergoing treatment for heartworms and responding well. He’s neutered, up to date on vaccines, and on monthly preventatives to keep him healthy moving forward. He does well with kids (he loves to be loved) and enjoys canine companions, but he isn’t fond of cats, so his perfect home will be feline free. Winston loves food, soft blankets, and all the affection you’re willing to give, he’s a true cuddlebug at heart. Winston is house and crate trained and finds comfort in napping in his crate when he wants some alone time. Although he is very affectionate, Winston can be quite independent as well. He is a wise older dog that is truly perfect for a family looking for a low maintenance companion. If you're searching for a sweet, low key dog who will bring comfort, companionship, and a whole lot of love into your home, Winston is ready to curl up and be your new best friend. Hi! I’m black pearl but the people who take care of me call me pearl I think I’m 5 or 6 in human years but I’m still spunky! Sadly I have to be in a home by myself with no other animal because I’ve had a rough life and I don’t trust any animals at all I love kids though! I can also be very relaxed and just sleep most of the day away sadly I have to find a new home because the people that saved me have dogs already and again I don’t trust those dogs so you should adopt me! I promise you will love me within the first week of having me. I do get extremely scared of thunderstorms though..

Story
Ernest is a gentle giant with a heart of gold. This sweet Great Dane is currently in a foster home and has been nothing short of wonderful. He gets along well with the resident dog and is peacefully coexisting with cats, even if they still surprise him a bit—he simply chooses to give them space. He loves meeting new people, soaking up affection, and then settling in for a good nap. He’s also incredibly smart and does a great job communicating his needs to his humans. He enjoys going for walks and is gaining strength every day. Ernest is house trained, but like many senior pups, when he needs to go, he needs to go—so quick potty breaks (especially in the early morning or late at night) will help him succeed. Ernest is looking for a soft landing—a calm, loving home where he can enjoy his golden years surrounded by kindness. If you’re looking for a loyal, low-key companion who will reward you with gentle affection and soulful eyes, Ernest just might be your perfect match. Put in an application to meet him today!

Story
Acquired Lucy through sheep farming. She just didn't work out as a livestock guardian dog (she wanted to be near humans too much). She has lived with my family and been around small children her whole life. Very loyal and protective of her "pack". She is 5 yrs old and loves to be around humans. She is manageable around dogs as long as the dogs are not aggressive towards her. Very loving and smart dog. We are moving and can not take her with us. Looking for someone who needs a good yard/farm dog.
