Story
Ernest came back to the shelter at 12 years old, which is way too old for any pup but definitely for a Great Dane. This guy needs to get out of here and into a home so that he can live out the rest of his life with a loving family. He has recently gone into a short-term foster situation and is doing well with the other dog in the house--we aren't surprised, he did well in his last home too! It has not been too long yet, but he is doing well with the cats too. He has been a little spooked by them, but he steers clear. Ernest is the best boy. He loves meeting people and a good nap.

Story
🥹 Oh, be still my heart -- Meet Marge 🥹When you look into Marge’s liquid eyes, you already understand who she is.She is gentle. Soulful. Calm. Quiet. Composed. And as sweet as they come.Marge is a 4-year-old Great Dane mix with an easy-going, steady nature. She’s likely housebroken and truly one of those dogs who seems to move through the world softly, asking for very little in return.Marge is high heartworm positive, but she is not without hope. MOAS will lovingly guide her through heartworm treatment once she has a foster or adoptive home. She simply needs a place to land before treatment can begin. She needs to start treatment soon, so we'd love to get her out of here. Fast. If you’ve been waiting for a quiet companion with a beautiful soul who truly needs to be saved, this is your sign. Come meet Marge and you'll see. She may need you right now, but she'll spend the rest of her life showing you why YOU were the one who needed HER. 🤍🐾Please call the shelter at (706) 795-2868 to schedule a meet and greet.Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter is a non-profit shelter serving over 720 square miles. Story
Meet Superman. 🦴❤️🦸‍♂️Superman spent some time in a foster home over the weekend, and here's what we learned about the amazing companion he is!Superman is a gentle giant with the kind of quiet, dopey charm that sneaks up on you. As a 9 year old senior fella, he’s not into toys or chasing balls. He’s more of a soft bed, full belly, long nap kind of guy. Give him a warm meal (bonus points for scrambled eggs) and he’s genuinely happy.🥹 (We humans could learn a thing or two about happiness from a dog like Superman.)He’s easygoing in the best way. Whatever you’re doing, he’s content to wag along. Car rides? He’s excellent -- always claiming shotgun. Snow and ice? You can miss him with that. Superman prefers to stay tucked in bed, thanks. This sweet boy has been loved before and has clearly lived a full life. Even so, his huge heart still has so much love left to give, and he gives it freely. 🥰 He’s doing well with house and crate training (he slept the full night last night undisturbed) and he seems very friendly and gets along well with the dogs. He does well with men and women and was friendly and sweet with the neighbor’s kids over the weekend as well! Superman is 9 years old and heartworm positive. The good news: MOAS covers his heartworm treatment, but we can’t start it until he’s in a foster or permanent home.If you’ve ever thought about fostering or opening your home to a senior dog who truly appreciates the simple comforts, Superman would be incredibly grateful. And so would we.To set up a meet and greet with Sampson, call the shelter or email coordinator@moaspets.com or apply for him here --> https://www.moaspets.com/adoptionapp Let’s give this good boy the cozy next chapter he deserves. 🐾💙Please call the shelter at (706) 795-2868 to schedule a meet and greet.Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter is a non-profit shelter serving over 720 square miles. Story
Kali is a female Great Dane (American style) that weights around 110lbs. We got her when she was a puppy from a reputable breeder of Great Danes. We love Kali but unfortunately we need to find a home for her because of a job relocation. Kali is 20 months old and is a very affectionate girl. She loves being pet and wants attention. She was trained by Rucker dog training and passed their extensive course. She is house trained, walks very well in leash ( doesn’t need leash as she heels during walk but we keep it on her). She has all her shots, she is spayed and we also had her stomach stapled for safety ( big dog stomachs can flip). She is socialized and has been going to dog daycare since she was 10 months. Again we hate to have to look for a new home for her but we have no other options.

Story
Hello all, I am Scoobie! I am a 8-year-old, beautiful, black, Great Dane and sometimes I even act like I know it! My fommy always calls me hansum, she makes me blush! And if you need to smile, well look no further than me! As you will see, I have a flipped up ear at times! It’s like a comb over ear! It brings a smile to everyone’s face! I’m a big boy at about 120 pounds, and my personality is BIG TOO! So here are the things a hooman needs to know about me.  I would do best being the only pup as I like my things. I don’t share the best with humans or other animals, so I need someone who can keep helping me be the best me like my foster parents do! They are patient with me, work with me, and when I do good things, they give me treats!! So I love doing good things!   I’m very food motivated so I will pretty much do anything you want me to do if you have a treat in your hand! I am also on medication daily that helps me be a better me and will need that medication indefinitely. I am a big couch potato, but I also sleep well in a crate. I am potty trained too! Woohoo!   I am a very strong boy, I don’t mean to be, but I am so I do need someone strong enough to handle my big boy size and strength. My foster mom’s requirements for being my new family are:   Must have Great Dane experience No children  No other pets Patient and willing to continue the training work.  Understands that I will forever be on medication that helps calm me and it works!      If you think you would love to be my new family and would love to give me the home I need to live out my golden years, please let Angels Among Us know!     An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online.  http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms     Please be sure to like our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org    Note:   Some apartments and neighborhoods  have breed restrictions. Story
Meet Bearon! This handsome hunk with beautiful eyes is a  7 -year-old, 65-pound Great Dane and Catahoula mix (we think). He's house- and crate-trained and walks well on a leash. He's looking for his forever family and wants a home where he's your only kiddo (human or furry). Bearon is cautious around strangers and appreciates slow, gentle introductions. Once you’re in his circle of trust, though, he’s a total love bug—affectionate, sweet, and devoted. While he gets along with other dogs, Bearon prefers to be the "star of the show" since he is a little protective of his food and toys. An active boy with plenty of energy, Bearon would love a home with a securely fenced backyard where he can romp and play. After some exercise and fun, he’s all about couch cuddles and sleeping by your side.
