Hi this is Jolene! She is a year and 4 months old, she is around 109 lbs and is a big cuddle bug. It breaks my heart to rehome her but we aren’t home enough due to work changes and we just want her to go to a home that can give her the play time and love she deserves. She grew up with a cat and another dog and has always been friendly with them. She is okay going out after warming up, Jo can be skiddish the first few minutes until she relaxes. Her new home must have a fenced in yard and be able to provide her with Duck and potato food. Her tummy is sensitive but I can provide what food and treats we have been giving her. She knows basic commands and she LOVES her toys! Please let me know if you think your home is perfect for her!

Maverick is a rescue pup we’ve had since he was 4 months old. He is now 9 years old but still full of energy. He’s house trained, loves sun bathing and playing with his toys which will go with him to his new home. He likes walks, snacks and belly rubs. He listens on command and will let you know he needs to go outside by touching the front or back door with his nose lol. He has 2 older human brothers that taught him how to box and is not afraid of a good match from time to time. Not as much lately as he is getting older. Because he deserves the best we are only looking for experience adopters with room and the time to care for him. A home with land where he can roam is ideal or time to walk him several times a week if not daily. No small children as he is a big guy and has no control of that tail. Also, Maverick is a house dog and this is not up for debate. He also is terrified of thunder and lightning. He deserves a family that can make him a priority.

Booney is a mantled Great Dane mix in black and white and is approximately 2 years old. In classic Great Dane style, he is a cuddly boy who LOVES to be with his people and his dog friends [who are small terrier mixes (18 and 21 pounds, respectively)]. We have not tried him around cats or children at this time. Booney is housetrained and crate trained (although he is not overly happy to go in). He is a very curious boy and is always interested in what the action of the home is. Booney is an incredibly happy dog and one with a ton of charm and personality. Weighing in at 137 pounds, Booney is a gentle giant but a giant nonetheless. Experience with large breeds is needed. We are working on Booney's etiquette around food and his skills on a leash. He is incredibly intelligent and gets concepts so quickly, so we know he will be an excellent companion once taught right from wrong. Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. As you will see, I have a flipped up ear at times! It’s like a comb over ear! It brings a smile to everyone’s face! I’m a big boy at about 120 pounds, and my personality is BIG TOO! So here are the things a hooman needs to know about me. I would do best being the only pup as I like my things. I don’t share the best with humans or other animals, so I need someone who can keep helping me be the best me like my foster parents do! They are patient with me, work with me, and when I do good things, they give me treats!! So I love doing good things! I’m very food motivated so I will pretty much do anything you want me to do if you have a treat in your hand! I am also on medication daily that helps me be a better me and will need that medication indefinitely. I am a big couch potato, but I also sleep well in a crate. I am potty trained too! Woohoo!
