Meet Harly
Harly is 9 years old, which technically makes her a senior Great Dane. Please do not tell Harly this.
Harly is one of those special dogs who simply loves life—and pretty much everyone she meets. Dogs? Friends. Cats? Friends. People? Definitely friends. If you're willing to pet her, cuddle her, or perhaps provide a snack, congratulations: you have made Harly's list of favorite people.
She is housebroken, incredibly sweet and loving, and an enthusiastic cuddler. Harly firmly believes that being a Great Dane should not prevent her from being a lap dog, and personal space is really more of a suggestion when there are pets available.
Her favorite activities include snacking, going for walks, watching telenovelas, receiving as much affection as humanly possible, and enjoying the occasional case of the happy zoomies.

Harly does have arthritis, so sometimes her spirit writes checks that her 9-year-old Great Dane body has trouble cashing. She needs a family who understands senior-dog care and will help her stay comfortable while still letting her enjoy all the things that make her happy.
And Harly is very happy.
She isn't a sad senior looking for someone to rescue her from a bad situation. Harly is currently safe, adored, and living comfortably in a loving foster home. We're simply looking to see whether there might be someone out there who has the perfect retirement home for this extraordinary girl.
Her ideal person will appreciate slower walks, soft beds, snacks, cuddles, arthritis care, spontaneous elderly zoomies, and whatever dramatic developments are currently unfolding on her telenovela.
In return, Harly offers something pretty wonderful: a gentle, joyful, affectionate dog who already knows how to be a very good girl and still wakes up every day excited about life.
Harly doesn't need someone to teach her how to live.
She just needs someone willing to love the life she's already living.

Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered.
Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption.
