Story
Winston is a gentle giant with a heart as big as his 70-pound frame. At 7 years old, this laid back boy is the perfect match for a family looking for a calm, affectionate companion who’s happiest just lounging around the house. We suspect Winston is a mix of Great Dane , which explains both his size and his sweet, loyal nature. While he’s strong, Winston isn’t the high-energy type, he’d much rather nap in a sunny spot, stretch out under your feet, or army crawl across the carpet (one of his favorite things!). He’ll play a little with other dogs, but he tires quickly and is always happy to get back to relaxing. Winston is currently undergoing treatment for heartworms and responding well. He’s neutered, up to date on vaccines, and on monthly preventatives to keep him healthy moving forward. He does well with kids (he loves to be loved) and enjoys canine companions, but he isn’t fond of cats, so his perfect home will be feline free. Winston loves food, soft blankets, and all the affection you’re willing to give, he’s a true cuddlebug at heart. Winston is house and crate trained and finds comfort in napping in his crate when he wants some alone time. Although he is very affectionate, Winston can be quite independent as well. He is a wise older dog that is truly perfect for a family looking for a low maintenance companion. If you're searching for a sweet, low key dog who will bring comfort, companionship, and a whole lot of love into your home, Winston is ready to curl up and be your new best friend. Personality traits Gentle, Independent, Quiet, Curious, Friendly, Couch, Loyal

Story
Hello all, I am Scoobie! I am a 8-year-old, beautiful, black, Great Dane and sometimes I even act like I know it! My fommy always calls me hansum, she makes me blush! And if you need to smile, well look no further than me! As you will see, I have a flipped up ear at times! It’s like a comb over ear! It brings a smile to everyone’s face! I’m a big boy at about 120 pounds, and my personality is BIG TOO! So here are the things a hooman needs to know about me.  I would do best being the only pup as I like my things. I don’t share the best with humans or other animals, so I need someone who can keep helping me be the best me like my foster parents do! They are patient with me, work with me, and when I do good things, they give me treats!! So I love doing good things!   I’m very food motivated so I will pretty much do anything you want me to do if you have a treat in your hand! I am also on medication daily that helps me be a better me and will need that medication indefinitely. I am a big couch potato, but I also sleep well in a crate. I am potty trained too! Woohoo!   I am a very strong boy, I don’t mean to be, but I am so I do need someone strong enough to handle my big boy size and strength. My foster mom’s requirements for being my new family are:   Must have Great Dane experience No children  No other pets Patient and willing to continue the training work.  Understands that I will forever be on medication that helps calm me and it works!      If you think you would love to be my new family and would love to give me the home I need to live out my golden years, please let Angels Among Us know!     An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online.  http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms     Please be sure to like our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org    Note:   Some apartments and neighborhoods  have breed restrictions. Story
Meet Bearon! This handsome hunk with beautiful eyes is a  7 -year-old, 65-pound Great Dane and Catahoula mix (we think). He's house- and crate-trained and walks well on a leash. He's looking for his forever family and wants a home where he's your only kiddo (human or furry). Bearon is cautious around strangers and appreciates slow, gentle introductions. Once you’re in his circle of trust, though, he’s a total love bug—affectionate, sweet, and devoted. While he gets along with other dogs, Bearon prefers to be the "star of the show" since he is a little protective of his food and toys. An active boy with plenty of energy, Bearon would love a home with a securely fenced backyard where he can romp and play. After some exercise and fun, he’s all about couch cuddles and sleeping by your side. Story
Ernest is a gentle giant with a heart of gold. This sweet Great Dane is currently in a foster home and has been nothing short of wonderful. He gets along well with the resident dog and is peacefully coexisting with cats, even if they still surprise him a bit—he simply chooses to give them space. He loves meeting new people, soaking up affection, and then settling in for a good nap. He’s also incredibly smart and does a great job communicating his needs to his humans. He enjoys going for walks and is gaining strength every day. Ernest is house trained, but like many senior pups, when he needs to go, he needs to go—so quick potty breaks (especially in the early morning or late at night) will help him succeed. Ernest is looking for a soft landing—a calm, loving home where he can enjoy his golden years surrounded by kindness. If you’re looking for a loyal, low-key companion who will reward you with gentle affection and soulful eyes, Ernest just might be your perfect match. Put in an application to meet him today!

Story
George is a sweet 3 year old Great Dane in need of a new home as his owner's new job will take him away from home regularly. He's always lived inside and with a canine companion and would love a home where he can be inside and have a companion. He's lived with cats before (he's scared of them as he is of many things) and gets along well with older kids. He's good with other dogs and enjoys going to the dog park (though he usually just runs around and doesn't play with other dogs). He's never shown signs of aggression, in fact, he's a big scaredy cat most of the time. George had cherry eye when he was younger but that was corrected with surgery in early 2025 with no issues! George hasn't had gastropexy surgery, so the vet still recommends he be fed in his crate and allowed to rest 30 minutes after eating.

Story
Hi… I’m Zeus.Yeah, I know—I sound like a big deal. King of the gods and all that. But honestly? I’m just a really tall guy who’s trying to figure out what it means to feel safe and loved.I’m a Great Dane (so yes, I come with the full “Dane lean” experience), and right now I’m working on gaining some weight and strength. I didn’t come from the best situation, so my body—and my heart—are both still catching up. I also don’t have a tail, but I promise I still wag my whole body when I’m happy… which is often, especially around my people.I’ve met just about everyone—dogs, humans, even cats—and I’m pretty chill about it. I don’t cause drama. I’m more of a “you do your thing, I’ll be over here with my person” kind of guy. Because if I’m being honest… I really, really love my humans.I’m what they call a “velcro dog.” That means if you sit down, I’m there. If you stand up, I’m there. If you go to the bathroom… well, I’ll at least consider following. I just feel safest when I’m close. I bond deeply, especially with my foster parents—they’ve shown me what kindness feels like, and now I don’t want to let that go.I can be anxious sometimes. Loud noises, new situations, or too much change can make me unsure. But when I trust you, I melt. I just need someone patient, someone gentle, someone who understands that love, for me, is about closeness and reassurance.Oh—and food time? That’s my moment. I get SO excited. It’s honestly one of the best parts of my day, and I’ll happily show you my best “happy dance” (again… full body, no tail required). What I’m really looking for is a person (or people) who gets dogs like me. Someone who loves that big, leaning, slightly clingy Dane energy. Someone who doesn’t mind that I’ll want to be right by your side, always. Because I don’t just want a home—I want my person. If you’ve got love, patience, and maybe a little extra space on the couch… I think we could be something really special.Love,Zeus
