Story
Tall Titan, is a strong and remarkable  Warrior, a dog that has fought to be alive and walking  today on this earth.  He has willed himself to come from the depths of pain and starvation to become this handsome boy that you see right now.  He is our Super Hero Pup and our example of a creature that has never given up even when it would have been easier to just go to sleep and never wake up.  When Titan came to a rescue lady’s house that Critter Cavalry knows, this boy was malnourished and just a skeleton of the puppy he should be as a Great Dane.  The lady has a love for the Danes and she asked CCR to please take him into our rescue before she fell in love and couldn’t let him go.  She had enough dogs and just felt the temptation to keep him was too great.  We agreed and soon Titan was ours to raise and get prepped for a new home and family.  Shortly afterwards his foster family noticed he was struggling to walk and his joints were inflamed. Titan was taken to several vets before receiving the diagnosis of  Hypertrophic osteodystrophy (HOD). He has been put on a regimen of medications, high calorie food and hydrotherapy and is now running, jumping and playing with other dogs. His favorite things to do are play with toys, run and nap in the sun. Titan is a large dog and will do best in a home with another large dog or two that he will be able to play with. He will continue to need medication intermittently for some time and to be followed by a veterinarian.  If you have large breed dog experience and are willing to take on this fellas special needs please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue. He is not house trained to hold longer than 4 hours.  He needs to eat separately at mealtimes and he needs to learn better how to play with his toys in a group setting if there are other dogs.  If he is the only dog then there is no special monitoring.  Titan rides like a champ in the car or truck and he is definitely crate trained with good dog/name recall.  He would be easier to watch in the yard if you had a real physical fence installed since he likes to wander off out of curiosity.   Please email Critter Cavalry at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested.  He is great with young children/boys that are rough and tumble and lots of noise. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJuly 14, 2024, 1:37 pm

Story
Hi! My name is Daisy, and I am three and a half years old with beautiful Brindle Myrle markings. I need a new home, the sooner the better. I need a home where I am the only dog. While I have grown up with male dogs, one older and one younger and might be okay sharing a home with another male dog, I cannot share my home with another girl dog. My heart is big, but sometimes I just a bit jealous of your love and attention! I am also a little nervous about transitioning to a new home. I am hoping the person that falls in love with me will understand big loveable Great Danes, and can help me feel comfortable being in a new place with new people. In exchange, you will be my everything and I will give you all my love and undivided attention. I am still young, bouncy, and energetic so playtime is important to me. If you toss treats to me, I can catch them in the air. I know my basic commands, like sit, stay, down and lie down. If you happen to have some Beggin Strips, I will do just about anything you ask! Currently, I am alone approximately 8 hours a day. I have a giant doggy door that allows me access to the outside. I have never been in a crate and I do know how to behave myself when left alone. In fact, when the weather is nice, I will often find a warm sunny spot outside to pass the time. I travel well and don’t mind being in the car. I’m also good around cats! I really need to find a new home. I hope you will consider me; I still have a long lifetime of love to share with you. If you are considering adopting me, please reach out and get more information about me. MAGDRL adopts to eastern NY, eastern PA, DE, WV, MD, NJ and VA only. Story
LOCAL TN ADOPTION ONLY. The good.....He is kennel trained. Goes in very easily with treats. Will run right in if a treat is thrown in there. Will bark for a few minutes but settles. If he’s in a crate, in a room alone and he hears a lot of commotion, he will bark. If you’ve left and the house is quiet, he’s quiet. He’s great in the kennel if someone is in the same room with him though. He likes being with his people. He happily snoozes in an open kennel during the day if you’re working from home and the kennel is near your work area.Scooby is a goof! There’s not much he takes too seriously. Besides treats. Treats are serious business! He will do just about anything for a treat. Even stuff he really doesn’t want to do. But treats are life. He’s overall an easy dog that is sweet, happy, cuddly and isn’t overly energetic. He loves playing and is a bulldozer but he relaxes and naps a lot too. He doesn’t require mass amounts of exercise. He is more than happy to lounge around in bed and watch tv with his humans. The bad...He snores. It’s not quiet...He hates small dogs, if your neighbor has one he will make it his lifes mission to eradicate it. He is generally good on a leash until aforementioned small dog walks up, then he will happily chill with you while you recover from your rotator cuff repair. Story
Meet Ringo, the 1 year old Great Dane mix with a unique personality. He was found playing with kids at a school in Texas, but wound up on the euthanasia list for space at the local tiny high kill shelter that is chronically over capacity. He's mastered house training, but doesn't signal when he needs to go out, preferring a set routine. While he's getting used to crate training and enjoys relaxing in it during the day, he'd rather not be crated at night (needs it though).   Ringo isn't destructive as long as he's entertained and crated when alone. He alerts his people by barking when people come by, but he doesn’t bark much. He’s a good fit for households with other big dogs (or none) and older children as he doesn’t realize his size and can knock smaller kids over by accident. He truly does love kids and would love to be a part of a family with some. His energy level makes him an excellent companion for running, hiking, and long walks.   In terms of training, Ringo knows basic commands like Sit, Stay, No, and Release (when he’s allowed to start eating his food), & he is very food motivated. He's a very curious boy and needs mental stimulation, while preferring to be included rather than left alone.   He’s not a fan of cuddling yet (he may have never known that life)! He loves rubbing his head against people he likes. Sometimes when he gives you a head rub, his shoulder follows along with his back and it turns into a whole body rub from Ringo. While he doesn't require another dog at home, he does need a fenced yard as he enjoys wandering. Overall, Ringo thrives with human companionship and an active lifestyle.   DISCLAIMER- Breed type is determined based on general appearance and behavioral characteristics and cannot be guaranteed unless DNA test results or AKC registration were provided at intake.   ***MOST OF OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN TEXAS, BUT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION AND TRANSPORT OUT OF STATE. Read below for more information.   Our dogs are transported to a predetermined location agreed upon by the rescue. The adoption contract and fee are finalized prior to transport. As a Pep's Pals Rescue direct adoption, the adoption interview/meet and greet occurs on video call (Skype, FB Messenger call, Facetime, etc).    Our adoption fee is $400 plus health certificate and transport (varies by location). This fee includes all current vaccinations, deworming, microchip (additional $12.99 registration fee required at time of adoption), fecal analysis, spay/neuter for dogs 6 months & older, and a heartworm test if over 6 months old. All dogs are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. A health exam will be completed and a health certificate issued by a veterinarian within 10 days of transport.   If you are interested in adopting, please fill out the adoption application below: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/57837/generic ##1994243##
