Story
Roo is a 2–3 year old Blue Merle Great Dane adult who weighs 85 pounds and was found abandoned by a well-known lake in Tennessee.  Someone rescued her from this terrible fate of no food or clean water and no place to be as she was wandering around the lake area very skinny and starved.  She was so grateful when someone took her home.  She then had different people foster her only for a few days at a time until this wonderful family saw her plight and need and said.....let us take her and foster her with a good rescue group.  Now this big girl named Roo has some stability in her life and has earned the nickname “Velcro dog.”  Of course this lost and abandoned girl who was deserted by a lake and then bounced a few times, wants to be right by your side and soak up every ounce of love and attention you’re willing to give her.  She will learn one day that noone is ever going to abandon her again.  This athletic girl has plenty of energy, loves to play with a happy spirit and and is an impressive olympic class jumper. She will thrive best in an active home.  Food definitely motivates her and this makes it super easy to train her and get her undivided attention. Roo is house-trained, crate-trained, cat-friendly, and absolutely loves to snuggle in the bed with her humans.    Roo bonds quickly and becomes very protective of her people so we will have tips on how to temper that zealous enthusiasm to claim you. She needs a family where she can be the queen of the castle and receive endless love and attention in return. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will stick by you through everything, Roo is your girl!       Please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested.  She is currently fostered in Tennessee and can be adopted locally and also can transport to a loving family that is northeast of Tennessee.  We transport almost weekly on the weekends.       PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJuly 21, 2026, 12:57 pm

Story
Major: 130 Pounds of Gentle Giant Love   Great Dane • 1½ years old • 130 pounds • Available the week of July 20   Major nearly lost his life for one heartbreaking reason: his landlord said he had to go, and his owner simply accepted that he would be euthanized.   Thankfully, a Nashville firefighter heard what was happening and stepped in to save him.   Since then, Major has been thriving in a foster home with four other dogs of different ages and temperaments. He has shown himself to be a remarkably sweet, curious, and adaptable young dog. He quickly learned to use the dog door, enjoys trips to the dog park, and handles new people, sounds, and surroundings with confidence.   At 1½ years old, Major still has a playful, youthful spirit, but he is mature enough to settle easily into a new routine. He is friendly, affectionate, and gentle—the kind of dog whose enormous heart matches his enormous paws.   Major is scheduled for surgery next week and should be ready for adoption the week of July 20. He is looking for a family that understands giant breeds and will give him the security and lifelong commitment he almost lost.   Major did not deserve to die because someone decided he was inconvenient. He deserves a home where he will be treasured for the truly special dog he is.   About Critter Cavalry Rescue:We’re a Middle Tennessee-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to saving high-risk homeless animals. Story
Banjo was just a tiny little fella when his litter was dropped off to one of our dedicated fosters. It was quickly clear that these puppies were overrun with worms and unfortunately Banjo was the only one to survive.. Banjo is about 90% blind and has epilepsy (which is well managed) so he needs a special family that will understand his medical needs and be a calm leader when he experiences seizures. He has come a long way and we know that there is a family out there that can see passed his special needs and love him all the same. He does require medication for his seizures twice a day at meal times. Banjo is good with everyone! Including kids. He also loves being with other dogs and is neutral toward cats in his foster home. He is still very young so he does need to be crated when left alone but he has a great foundation for crating thanks to his foster. Banjo rides well in the car and is excellent for bath time. He LOVES food and thinks toys are less exciting. But dont worry his favorite games involve interacting with his people. Banjo is currently in PA but he can be transported to an approved adopter. This special boy needs a special family!

Story
Meet Tex – Your Perfect Laid-Back Companion 🐾 Tex is an 8-year-old gentleman with a calm, easygoing personality who is now under the care of MAGDRL. He is currently being boarded while we search for a loving foster or forever home where he can enjoy the comfort he deserves. Tex has a true “old soul” demeanor. He lives for affection and will happily soak up pets for as long as you’re willing to give them. His favorite place is near an open window where he can bask in the sunshine and relax the day away. While he’s not overly playful, he does enjoy the occasional burst of zoomies that show off his fun side. He ignores other dogs, does well in a kennel environment, and is comfortable with non-dominant male dogs. Tex previously lived peacefully with a 9-year-old female Mastiff mix. He is crate trained, though he hasn’t needed a crate in years, and he does not have separation anxiety—making him an easy addition to a home. Tex is now in a foster home in NJ and is doing great with his Dane foster sister. Tex is a sweet senior boy who just wants to be loved and cuddled, a wonderful companion for a quiet home. He will do best with female dogs. Tex is trustworthy in the house, does great in the car or on a leash. He is crate trained but has proven he doesn't need to be crated if left unsupervised. Tex is such a gentle old soul, if you want to give a senior a place to live out their golden years, Tex is the boy for you!. If interested, Please contact Chelsea at chelsea9049@yahoo.com. Story
Meet Max, a loving 9-year-old Great Dane mix who's ready to be your next loyal companion! This gentle giant is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and housetrained — calm, affectionate, and ridiculously good with kids and other dogs. Max knows basic commands like "sit," "stay," and "up," loves relaxed walks and long naps, and is excellent on car rides; he truly becomes your shadow and is happiest by your side. Max is a very sweet boy who sadly just lost his best friend, a female dane of 9 years, and his owner at the same time. Because of this, he is looking for a new owner who wouldn't mind his loyalty and being your own personal shadow. He can get a bit anxious when left alone, so someone who is home a lot or works from home would be ideal. He also loves females and the ideal home for him is one with a female owner and a calm female Dane. If you’re looking for a devoted, easygoing buddy who’s as sweet as he is gentle and will be your loyal shadow, come meet Max! Please include your home area code and a phone number where a volunteer can reach you when contacting us about an adoption.
