Meet Steve! - Steve is about 5 months old and weighs 45 lbs. We guess Steve is a Pitbull/Terrier Mix (Just a Guess as we have no idea on mom or dad). Steve is happy boy who loves to play with the German Shepherd in his foster home. Steve will need another young and playful dog in his forever home. He is amazing with other dogs and very sweet. He is a smart boy with a real excitement for learning. Steve already knows sit, lay down, shake, off, and back. He enjoys running and sniffing around the backyard and is also a big fan of squeaky toys. His favorite game is fetch. Steve is in a foster home with cats and does well with them. Steve follows his foster mom everywhere and is an expert at snuggling. Steve is doing great on his house and crate training. If you are looking for a happy go lucky addition to your family, Steve is your pup. Because he is a puppy, he will require an adopter who is home a good portion of the day to continue his/her training—no exceptions. Steve is up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped and will need to be neutered at the age of 6 months. The Adoption Fee for this puppy $400.00. ***Please note, this pup's immune system will not be fully functioning until about 16 weeks of age and therefore, s/he is not suited for Apartment/Condo living or Town homes without a private fenced yard and will not be able to go to public places where s/he could possibly be exposed to the germs of unvaccinated dogs, such as PetSmart/PetCo and dog parks until s/he is 16 weeks old*** ***You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt from CKRescue*** The adoption fee for this dog is $400, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. This fee DOES NOT INCLUDE spay/neuter if the pup is not already spayed/neutered. If the animal you are adopting is not already spayed/neutered, you will be required to sign a contract legally obligating you to have the animal altered. A $100.00 fee will be returned to the adopter once the animal has been sterilized. We will provide information on this process during the approval process. ***Note that puppy adoption fees most often help generate revenue that goes towards older, special needs animals that need our help. Surgeries, heartworm treatment, boarding costs and/or all things that often result in adoptable dogs and cats being left behind to be euthanized. So, adopting a puppy saves not just one life, but many! ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us, thus we will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** Our organization cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and/or the general appearance of the animal. **Please visit www.caninesandkittiesrescue.org to complete our non-binding application.**

Story
This boy was found twice as a stray and the owner never came back the second time to reclaim him. Ozzie is a very friendly dog and is great with everyone he's met.  He is good with other dogs and loves to play. He's also good with cats.  He is housetrained and crate trained and working on leash training.  He is a big puppy so still has a lot to learn, but he would make a great addition to any home. We've had a DNA test done and the results are in. Ozzy's breeding is the following: 38% Great Dane, 28% Great Pyrenees, 10% American Bulldog, 6% Komondor, 4% American Foxhound, 3% Maremma Sheepdog, 3% American Pitbull Terrier, 2% Boxer, 2% American Staffordshire Terrier, 2% American Eskimo Dog, 1% Golden Retriever. Accuracy is not guaranteed; however, information provided is accurate to the best of our knowledge.  For more information on the pet, please send an email to info@aforeverhome.org March 8, 2026, 9:02 pm

Story
Current Location: Hughesville, MD Meet Black Beauty Black Beauty is a two year old, 95 pound all black Great Dane with a heart that is somehow even bigger than his already magnificent frame. He is loving, goofy, playful, and genuinely joyful in a way that makes everyone around him smile. He is the kind of dog who will make you laugh with his silly antics one moment and melt you completely with his gentle affection the next. He is, in every sense of the name, a beautiful boy. He came into this world with a lot of love to give and he gives it freely and generously to the people he trusts. He is calm, sleeps well in his crate, and knows sit, stay, come, shake, and crate cues. He is adventurous and active, loves long walks and play sessions, and thrives with plenty of exercise and enrichment to keep that big body and bright mind engaged. Black Beauty also carries some fears with him, and those fears sometimes show up as reactivity, particularly around other dogs and in tense or loud situations. Raised voices can unsettle him and he can become defensive when he feels overwhelmed or threatened. This is not who Black Beauty is at his core. It is simply a part of his story that the right person will understand and work through with him. He has already shown tremendous capacity for growth and with calm, consistent, positive support his confidence continues to build and his bright playful spirit shines more every day. He is not the right fit for a home with other pets or young children. He needs a calm and structured environment, an active and patient adopter with experience handling large dogs, and someone who has the time and heart to build his trust slowly and deliberately. In return Black Beauty will give that person something extraordinary. The devoted, goofy, deeply loving companionship that only a dog who has learned to truly trust can give. He needs a fenced yard, a calm household, and a person who sees not just where he is today but where he is going. Because Black Beauty is going somewhere wonderful. He just needs the right person to make the journey with him.

Story
A gentle giant with a goofy streak and a heart as big as his paws. Max is a stunning 2-year-old blue Great Dane who perfectly captures the classic Dane personality — affectionate, sweet, and happiest when he’s close to his people. He’s a true love-bug who believes leaning against you counts as quality bonding time. Like many young Danes, Max still has a playful side and occasionally breaks into the kind of joyful zoomies that only a giant dog can manage. Once the silliness passes, he’s just as happy lounging nearby and embracing his inner couch potato. Max is great with other dogs and very friendly with people. We’re not yet sure how he feels about cats. He will benefit from some basic obedience training, but he’s eager to please and very willing to learn. He’s been doing well with house training and sleeps comfortably in his crate overnight with a little treat encouragement. Max is currently undergoing heartworm treatment, and once that’s complete and he settles into his forever home, he’s expected to thrive. He doesn’t need a perfect home — just a loving one ready for a loyal, affectionate giant. Quick facts: • 2 years old • Blue Great Dane • Affectionate, playful, and loyal • Good with other dogs • Crate trained • Doing well with house training • Smart, trainable young dog • Currently receiving heartworm treatment The adoption fee for this dog is $425 which includes routine vetting and spay/neuter. PetConnect Rescue cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and the general appearance of the animal at the time they enter our system. Story
Winston was rescued as a puppy living life in a crate. He was brought home to relatives who are both wheelchair-bound. This puppy grew into a Great Dane, lol! Winston is currently more than his adult owners can physically keep up with. He is trained to an electronic collar so he can run around his country yard and play with the other dog from the house. He is good with kids and loves to sit on the couch like a human, with his front paws resting on the ground. He is a big happy gentle giant looking for a home that can help him expend his energy better. He is loves his toys and would especially love a person to play with him and a lap that he can sit on, lol! If you’re looking for a big gentle giant, please contact irondawgs13@gmail.com for adoption application.
