I'm Lainey. I was found as a stray and no one has come for me. So sad. But, I'm not letting it get me down. I'm moving on and I'd like to take you with me on my life's journey. I'm thought to be part Great Dane, so I amd a pretty good sized girl.already at 7 months old. If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2813500##

She came to us as an owner surrender after her family decided they “couldn’t handle her anymore.” The truth is that she was never really given the opportunity to flourish. She’s a big puppy with BIG feelings, BIG energy, and a whole lot of love to give and what she needs most is someone willing to give her the guidance, patience, and training she needs to grow into the amazing dog we know she can be. She is incredibly sweet, loving, and affectionate. She can be overly excited and doesn’t always remember that her enthusiasm is a little… much, but underneath all that puppy energy is a wonderful dog waiting to shine. She is playful, silly, and eager to have fun, and with some consistency and positive training, we truly believe she is going to blossom. A dog sibling could be a great fit for her, especially one who enjoys playing and can tolerate a little puppy-level annoyance while she learns her manners. She would love having a canine friend to help keep her busy and burn off some of that energy. She’s not looking for a perfect home; she’s looking for a patient one. A home that will see past the chaotic puppy stage, give her the structure she needs, and let her become the dog she was always meant to be. If you’re willing to put in the time and love, this girl has so much potential. She just needs someone to finally give her that chance. 💕
