Story
Tall Titan, is a strong and remarkable  Warrior,  a dog that has fought to be alive and walking  today on this earth.  He has willed himself to come from the depths of pain and starvation to become this handsome boy that you see right now.  He is our Super Hero Pup and our example of a creature that has never given up even when it would have been easier to just go to sleep and never wake up.    When Titan came to a rescue lady’s house that Critter Cavalry knows, this boy was malnourished and just a skeleton of the puppy he should be as a Great Dane.  The lady has a love for the Danes and she asked CCR to please take him into our rescue before she fell in love and couldn’t let him go.  She had enough dogs and just felt the temptation to keep him was too great.  We agreed and soon Titan was ours to raise and get prepped for a new home and family.  Shortly afterwards his foster family noticed he was struggling to walk and his joints were inflamed. Titan was taken to several vets before receiving the diagnosis of  Hypertrophic osteodystrophy (HOD). He has been put on a regimen of medications, high calorie food and hydrotherapy and is now running, jumping and playing with other dogs. His favorite things to do are play with toys, run and nap in the sun. Titan is a large dog and will do best in a home with another large dog or two that he will be able to play with. He will continue to need medication intermittently for some time and to be followed by a veterinarian.  If you have large breed dog experience and are willing to take on this fellas special needs please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue. He is not house trained to hold longer than 4 hours.  He needs to eat separately at mealtimes and he needs to learn better how to play with his toys in a group setting if there are other dogs.  If he is the only dog then there is no special monitoring.   Titan rides like a champ in the car or truck and he is definitely crate trained with good dog/name recall.  He would be easier to watch in the yard if you had a real physical fence installed since he likes to wander off out of curiosity.   Please email Critter Cavalry at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested.  He is great with young children/boys that are rough and tumble and lots of noise. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 26, 2024, 11:20 pm

Gentle Giant Molly Seeks Her Forever Lap Meet Molly, a true gentle giant with a heart of gold. This sweet girl was found fending for herself in the woods, leaving her dangerously thin and struggling to survive on her own. Despite her difficult start, Molly has an amazingly loving spirit and an endless supply of affection to give her new family. She is almost 2 years old and weighs 76 pounds. Molly is the ultimate couch potato. She may be a big girl, but she's just a supersize lapdog at heart. She can't wait to join you on the couch for movie marathons and quality cuddle time. While Molly loves her relaxation, she's also eagerly learning how fun toys can be. She is house-trained and gets along great with other dogs and children. She'd make a wonderful, loving addition to a family with regular pooches or none at all. Open your home and heart to this sweet couch potato, and experience a loyal, cuddly friendship like no other. Apply to adopt MOLLY LONESTAR at EHR.org. March 27, 2024, 12:43 pm

Story
Mando is a big ol’ cuddle bug! He LOVES lovin’s. He loves people, kids, walks, toys, cuddles, and kisses. Mando was found at a home as a 5 month old puppy on a chain with no food or water. The owner was approached and eventually surrendered him. This poor boy is now 10 months old and has lived in a shelter his entire life. Mando would thrive in a home and deserves one of his very own. He is wonderful with other dogs and is untested with cats. Mando is a 10 month old male Dane mix who is approximately 60 lbs. He is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Mando is a big boy and still puppy playful, so he may be too much for small children. Fence required. This furbaby is located at Animal Harbor in southern middle TN. You can apply at www.animalharbor.org. If approved, we will facilitate a virtual meet and greet and answer any questions you may have. We partner with the awesome transport service company Rescue Riders to safely and professionally move our animals to their loving new homes!

Story
Grams Needs Your Help Registration No.: RR097. It’s truly heart-wrenching to hear about Grams’ condition, but it’s also heartwarming to know that he’s now in a caring environment where he can begin to heal physically and emotionally. Gram is a scared but sweet boy, weighing 87 pounds and we think he is about 3 years old. It’s clear that he’s been through a lot, but with proper care and attention, he has a chance for a better life ahead. The pictures say more than words. The efforts of the shelter and his foster home are commendable. His foster mom is providing him with multiple small meals to prevent bloating, along with the patience and care to help him adjust to his new surroundings, are crucial steps in his recovery process. It sounds like Gram has endured significant neglect and possibly mistreatment in the past. His emaciated condition and the injuries described below indicate prolonged suffering and lack of proper care. The protruding bones suggest severe malnutrition. The cuts on his hind legs, along with the pressure sores, further indicate that he’s been subjected to conditions that are detrimental to his well-being, likely due to prolonged confinement in an inadequate environment. The rings around his tail are a common sign of being crated for long periods in a crate that’s too small, causing discomfort and injury. The chewed-up ears could indeed be from being tied up outside, especially if flies or other pests were present. Given his physical condition, it’s imperative that he receives prompt veterinary attention to address his sores and his paraphimosis which is an issue with his penis that can cause a constriction to the blood flow which can cause increased swelling and any other health concerns he may have. It’s also important to assess his emotional well-being and provide him with the support and comfort he needs to feel safe and secure. It’s essential that his new foster and eventual furever home continue to monitor his condition closely and provide him with the necessary support and medical care to ensure his recovery and eventual well-being. Grams deserves a chance at a better life, and with the right care and compassion, he can overcome his past traumas and thrive in a loving home. Gram is responding well to the care provided by his foster home. The fact that he’s eating, drinking, and able to relieve himself without complications is a positive sign of his resilience. Bonding with his foster family is a crucial step in Grams’ journey to recovery. Establishing trust and a sense of security will be essential for him to feel safe and comfortable in his new environment. The patience and compassion shown by his foster caregivers are invaluable in helping him adjust and heal from the trauma he’s experienced. It’s heartbreaking to imagine what Gram has been through. With proper medical attention, nutrition, and lots of love and patience, he has the potential to heal both physically and emotionally. Gram has a bright future ahead. He’s fortunate to have found a supportive foster home that is committed to his well-being, and I have no doubt that he’ll continue to make progress on his journey to recovery and eventual adoption into a loving furever home. MAGDRL adopts to eastern NY, eastern PA, NJ, DE, MD, VA and WV only. Please see our website www.magdrl.org for adoption procedures and fencing policies.
