Story
Meet Sky, who comes to us from a local shelter. She was owner surrendered to the shelter with her brother, Tiny (already adopted), because he said he could no longer take care of them. She and Tiny both lived their life in a 48" crate. Sky is a 3-year-old, 101 lb., Great Dane. She is housebroken, crate trained, good with kids, other dogs and even cats. Due to being starved she does show some food aggression with other dogs (only when eating) and would either need to be adopted by a family willing to teach her not to resource guard by feeding her in her kennel or be adopted to a family as an only dog. She is up to date on her vaccines and is spayed. Sky is very smart, sweet and affectionate, loves to nuzzle right into you, is great on a leash and in the car, behaves excellently in public, and is very gentle and quiet. Sky loves going on walks and makes the best companion. She is a favorite amongst the volunteers at boarding because of her sweet and affectionate demeanor. If you are interested in fostering or adopting Sky, please reach out to us for an adoption or foster application.

Story
Diesel is a sweet older Great Dane mix dog.  His vet estimated birth date is 2017.  He weighs 77 pounds.  He'd love taking walks and then coming home to nap at your feet.  He can be a little iffy with other dogs, so he'd probably do best as an only dog, or you would need to do a very slow introduction if you have other dogs.  Diesel walks well on a leash. ~Adoption donation $200 . All vetting is up to date. Microchipped and neutered. Also on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Rocky is about 4 years old and weighs around 140-150lbs. He loves squeaky balls and wants you to throw the ball until your arm might fall off! He's a big goofy boy with an even bigger heart. Rocky is potty trained, gets along great with other dogs, rides good in a car, and walks nicely on a leash. Rocky does drool, so get your towels ready! If Rocky gets stressed out, he has a condition that causes paralysis on one side of his face. We can provide his new family with more information. Adoption Fee- $500August 30, 2025, 5:07 pm

Story
Meet Roo (a.k.a. RooBear, Rooski Bruski, or Roo Roo!) Roo is a 2–3 year old Blue Merle Great Dane adult who weighs 85 pounds and was found abandoned by a well-known lake in Tennessee.  Someone rescued her from this terrible fate of no food or clean water and no place to be as she was wandering around the lake area very skinny and starved.  She was so grateful when someone took her home.  She then had different people foster her only for a few days at a time until this wonderful family saw her plight and need and said.....let us take her and foster her with a good rescue group.  Now this big girl named Roo has some stability in her life and has earned the nickname “Velcro dog.”  Of course this lost and abandoned girl who was deserted by a lake and then bounced a few times, wants to be right by your side and soak up every ounce of love and attention you’re willing to give her.  She will learn one day that noone is ever going to abandon her again.  This athletic girl has plenty of energy, loves to play with a happy spirit and and is an impressive olympic class jumper. She will thrive best in an active home.  Food definitely motivates her and this makes it super easy to train her and get her undivided attention. Roo is house-trained, crate-trained, cat-friendly, and absolutely loves to snuggle in the bed with her humans.   Roo bonds quickly and becomes very protective of her people so we will have tips on how to temper that zealous enthusiasm to claim you. She needs a family where she can be the queen of the castle and receive endless love and attention in return. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will stick by you through everything, Roo is your girl!      Please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested.   She is currently fostered in Tennessee and can be adopted locally and also can transport to a loving family that is northeast of Tennessee.  We transport almost weekly on the weekends. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comSeptember 15, 2025, 11:28 am

Story
Meet Pepper! Pepper is a stunning Great Dane with the sweetest, most gentle spirit. She’s just as happy going for a long walk (she’s wonderful on a leash!) as she is curling up next to you on the couch, convinced she’s a lap dog. Pepper loves toys of all kinds, especially a good game of tug-of-war, and she never turns down high-fives or kisses! She also enjoys a ride in the car! She’s fully housebroken, crate trained, and does well with other large dogs(with slow, proper introduction) and loves children. Pepper would do best in a home without small dogs, cats or other small animals.  Pepper’s journey hasn’t been an easy one—she was found abandoned in a crate on the side of the road, dangerously underweight at only 72 lbs. Since coming into rescue, she has been thriving, steadily gaining weight, and blossoming into the healthy, happy Dane she was always meant to be. With her loving nature and easygoing personality, Pepper would make a wonderful addition to almost any home. Applications can be filled out at www.piedmontanimalrescue.com/adopt!  Petfinder and Adopt-A-Pet does NOT send us Applications.
