Story
Milo is a 15-week-old puppy with a gentle soul, wiggly puppy energy, and so much love to give. After a difficult start to life—being neglected and treated poorly for not looking like his siblings—Milo is ready for a fresh beginning with a family who will cherish him. He’s a shy boy at first, but once he feels safe, Milo will give you his whole heart. He’s a total cuddle bug who wants to be as close to you as possible and will happily follow you from room to room. With his long legs and bouncy hops, he moves like a little kangaroo and brings constant smiles with his goofy, clumsy charm. Milo loves other dogs, enjoys playtime, and is learning the ropes in his foster home. He’s working on basic training, doing well with leash walks, sleeps in his crate at night, and looks to his older foster brother for confidence and guidance. Milo needs a patient, loving home that will help him continue building confidence and show him that he is finally safe and loved—exactly as he is. 🐾💙 --- To apply to adopt, please follow the steps for adoption on HalfwayThereRescue.com/Adoption-Process and apply directly here: https://fs26.formsite.com/htrnp/a2k3lsooud/index.html

Story
Meet Boone 💙 Hi! My name is Boone, and my stunning blue eyes are usually the first thing people notice about me—but I promise there’s so much more to love. I’m a very good boy and pretty smart (or at least that’s what everyone tells me!). I sleep through the night in my crate and I’m working hard on my house training. My foster mom says I’m doing great! I walk nicely on a leash, though loud noises can startle me sometimes. I’m learning that the world isn’t such a scary place after all. I can be a little cautious when meeting new people or going to new places, but don’t let that fool you—I warm up quickly and will happily melt into your lap for snuggles and naps. I love being around people, including kids, and I get along well with other dogs and even cats. My favorite things include hard chew toys and chasing a tennis ball. I had a rough start in life, but I’m ready for a fresh beginning. I’m looking forward to finding my forever family and learning what love is all about. Could that be you? 🐶💙 --- To apply to adopt, please follow the steps for adoption on HalfwayThereRescue.com/Adoption-Process and apply directly here: https://fs26.formsite.com/htrnp/a2k3lsooud/index.html

Story
Meet Pandy 🐼 Pandy is a Great Dane / Catahoula mix puppy who clearly missed the memo that she’s a BIG girl. In her mind, she’s still small enough to be scooped up and held like a baby—and honestly, she wouldn’t have it any other way. This confident, happy pup loves to bounce around and play with other dogs, but her absolute favorite place is curled up with her human. If cuddling were an Olympic sport, Pandy would be going for gold. She thrives on connection and just wants to be wherever her people are. Named after a panda, Pandy truly lives up to it—cute, rolly, food-motivated, and always ready for her next snack or nap. She’s a confident girl who’s eager to tackle new adventures, whether that’s exploring the outdoors or settling in for a cozy night at home. If you’re looking for a loving, playful puppy with a big heart (and an even bigger cuddle game), Pandy is ready to meet you. --- To apply to adopt, please follow the steps for adoption on HalfwayThereRescue.com/Adoption-Process and apply directly here: https://fs26.formsite.com/htrnp/a2k3lsooud/index.html

Story
Meet Gabby 🐾 Gabby is the sweetest Great Dane / Catahoula mix puppy you’ll ever meet. While she enjoys romping around with other dogs, you’ll often find her sitting quietly nearby, gazing up at you with hopeful eyes—politely willing you to notice her and give her some love. This gentle girl adores kids (they’re closer to her level and experts at petting, after all!). Gabby is patient, kind, and incredibly affectionate. She doesn’t ask for much—just a soft hand, a warm heart, and someone who’s willing to remind her how special she is. Gabby’s calm, loving nature makes her a wonderful companion for families, first-time dog owners, or anyone looking for a loyal best friend. She’s the kind of pup who will happily soak up affection all day long and give it right back tenfold. If you’re looking for a truly sweet soul who just wants to be loved, Gabby is ready and waiting for you. --- To apply to adopt, please follow the steps for adoption on HalfwayThereRescue.com/Adoption-Process and apply directly here: https://fs26.formsite.com/htrnp/a2k3lsooud/index.html

Story
Meet Maple, a 2 yr old female Dane! Maple came to us when a volunteer working with animal control noticed a beautiful marble-coated Great Dane attached to a chain in the middle of a field. The volunteer approached the owners to talk to them about this pretty girl. They said they received the dog from someone else but they did not want to keep her, and they would be interested in surrendering her. Maple was so skinny when she came into the rescue. Once Maple arrived at her foster family's house the evaluation began. Here is what we know about this sweet puppy:  Let’s start with what she needs work on and get it out of the way. Maple had almost zero manners. When she arrived she already knew how to sit for her food. Since then, her foster family has been working on the basics. She is so much a puppy still but the vet's best guess is that she is around two. When she moves, she moves fast and frantically. For example, the foster family allows dogs on their couch. The first time Maple was invited onto the couch she jumped up like lightning, scrambled to be as close to them as she could while smashing herself as low as she could get. When this happens, it can be a bit dramatic and you have to be ready for it to keep her from crawling all over you. Luckily for her, the foster family expects snuggles!! She is also frantic when she is let out of her kennel, and when it's time for food, and when she tries to follow you out the door when you leave the house. Normally, with a stern verbal correcting she will stop in her tracks. She doesn't want to disappoint you. She does need leash training because she is a strong puller on the leash. The foster family introduced her to the Haltie and it is a game changer for the way she walks on a leash. All of this sounds like a lot, and I suppose it is, until you look at why she is acting this way: - No training, - Little to no access to people (chained in the yard), - no snuggles, - fear of being left behind, - desperately wants to make people happy but doesn't know what is expected of her.  Now, the good: This pup has the sweetest temperament ever. She is a true wanna-crawl-in-your-pocket kinda Dane. All she wants is your attention and to make you happy. She is easily trained with food and praise, and will follow you around the house no matter where you go. She is happiest on the couch beside you snuggling, or walking to the bathroom with you, or to the kitchen, or the laundry room. She doesn't care!! She wants to be where you are. Period. Are you looking for a dog that likes to be outside? One you can put in the back yard and let them enjoy the great outdoors? Well Maple is NOT that dog!! She will run to the yard, do what she needs to do and then run back to the door to go inside. This will definitely get better as she learns she isn’t going to be left outside anymore. But if you are out there with her, it changes everything. She is super sweet and affectionate. She is not food aggressive, but she does like whatever toy the other dogs are playing with. And she doesn't like other dogs in her face until she gets to know them. The foster family has kennel trained her and she will walk into the kennel on command (a payment in the form of a treat is required). At night the fosters leave one of their dogs in the living room with her and she sleeps quietly through the night. She also rides awesome in the car. So in closing, if you want a dog that is a literal blank slate and is looking for you to communicate with her and tell her what you want, Maple may be the one for you. The bathroom, kitchen, laundry room, bedroom, and back-door escorts are included, along with the hyper-drive dive-bombing onto the couch or human bed, and following you so closely that you can feel her wet nose on your calf muscles, at no extra charge!! So, check out Maple and see what making her a part of your family can do. P.S. Look at those Jowls!!!! Maple is being fostered in Zebulon NC. Story
Hi. Hello. Hi again. My name is Hank and I am, scientifically speaking, the bestest boy. Full transparency though: the world is BIG and LOUD and PEOPLE are kinda scary  . When I first landed with my foster dad, I needed a few solid weeks to decompress, observe from a safe distance, and decide if humans were… chill. Spoiler alert: my foster dad passed the vibe check. Once I felt safe, my true personality came out and WOW—I am a certified snuggle champion with a major affection streak. I currently live with two foster siblings (both Danes) and let me tell you—no fear there. We wrestle. We play tug-of-war. We steal toys from each other like professionals. They’ve helped boost my confidence a TON, and I would love to have fur siblings in my forever home. Fair warning: I play hard, so a sibling with energy and patience would be ideal. Outside the house? Still spooky. We’re working on leash skills and socializing. I’m not “bad” on a leash—I just sometimes sit down and politely refuse to continue because THE WORLD IS A LOT. Progress is happening, slowly and on my terms, and my foster dad is super patient with me (10/10 human). Now that I’m comfy, my puppy side is fully activated: • Goofy   • Clumsy   • Will steal anything I can reach   • Loves bringing sticks inside like priceless treasures   I’m almost fully potty trained, learning to sit and shake, and VERY food motivated (treats = trust). I’m kennel trained-ish—still not my favorite, but toss a couple treats in there and I’ll dramatically but obediently walk myself in. Oh, and ICE IS AMAZING. Truly elite snack. My foster dad says I’m going to make my future family incredibly happy. He’s really proud of how far I’ve come—and yeah, I think they’ll miss me—but he keeps telling me there’s a family out there who needs a sweet, sensitive, snuggly giant puppy like me to call their own. If you’re patient, kind, and ready to love a Dane puppy who’s learning that the world isn’t so scary… I might just be your guy.    Hank is being fostered in Fort Mill, SC.  If interested in adopting you can email us at info@greatdanefriends.com for an application.  A fenced yard is required to give Hank a safe off leash area to run and zoom. *****Great Dane Friends of Ruff Love covers NC and surrounding states for adoptions.
