Story

Roo is a 2–3 year old Blue Merle Great Dane adult who weighs 85 pounds and was found abandoned by a well-known lake in Tennessee. Someone rescued her from this terrible fate of no food or clean water and no place to be as she was wandering around the lake area very skinny and starved. She was so grateful when someone took her home. She then had different people foster her only for a few days at a time until this wonderful family saw her plight and need and said.....let us take her and foster her with a good rescue group. Now this big girl named Roo has some stability in her life and has earned the nickname “Velcro dog.” Of course this lost and abandoned girl who was deserted by a lake and then bounced a few times, wants to be right by your side and soak up every ounce of love and attention you’re willing to give her. She will learn one day that noone is ever going to abandon her again. This athletic girl has plenty of energy, loves to play with a happy spirit and and is an impressive olympic class jumper. She will thrive best in an active home. Food definitely motivates her and this makes it super easy to train her and get her undivided attention. Roo is house-trained, crate-trained, cat-friendly, and absolutely loves to snuggle in the bed with her humans. Roo bonds quickly and becomes very protective of her people so we will have tips on how to temper that zealous enthusiasm to claim you. She needs a family where she can be the queen of the castle and receive endless love and attention in return. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will stick by you through everything, Roo is your girl! Please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested. She is currently fostered in Tennessee and can be adopted locally and also can transport to a loving family that is northeast of Tennessee. We transport almost weekly on the weekends. PLEASE NOTE: Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted. Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site. The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive. Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comOctober 9, 2026, 10:51 am

Story

Lady Roxy's Story Meet Lady Roxy! Approx DOB 8/17/2024 Lady Roxy is a young Great Dane mix with a playful personality, moderate energy, and plenty of goofy charm. She currently lives with dogs of a similar size in her foster home and loves having a canine playmate! Roxy enjoys going for walks and is working on her leash manners. Her foster family has found that a harness helps with her pulling, and she’s continuing to improve. At home, she loves letting loose with some serious zoomies in her foster family’s 6-foot privacy-fenced yard. She’s still a young girl learning the ways of the world, so she’s working on her manners—including being a little mouthy and barking when she wants attention. Her foster parents are helping her learn appropriate behaviors, and her forever family should be ready to continue that training and guidance. Roxy can be a little nervous around men when she first meets them but give her a few minutes and she warms up quickly. Once she’s comfortable, her sweet and playful personality comes shining through. She crates nicely and actually enjoys relaxing on her comfy dog bed inside her crate. She likes to play with toys and balls, although she hasn’t quite figured out that the goal of fetch is to bring the ball back. You may have to do the retrieving for now! Roxy is looking for a forever family who will continue helping her grow into the amazing adult dog she’s meant to be. In return, you’ll get a playful, goofy companion who is ready for walks, zoomies, playtime, and lots of love. Before emailing- please read: - Yes, this dog is available for adoption -Lady Roxy adoption fee is $365 - Apply at c2cnd.org - The adoption fee covers their age-appropriate shots, microchip, deworming, spay/neuter, and any other medical expenses while in our care. - Local adopters only. Story

When Hercules first came home, he didn’t quite know what to do with a bed or how to settle into a chair. These days, you’d never know it. He’s been spoiled rotten ever since—and he’s made himself very comfortable being everyone’s favorite. For such a big boy, Hercules has the sweetest heart. He wants to give you kisses, cuddle up beside you, and stay close enough to feel part of whatever you’re doing. Personal space is apparently unnecessary when there’s this much love to give. He’s also a very good boy. He knows his commands and listens well, is great on a leash, and is fully potty trained. Hercules loves riding in trucks, but the best part for him is the company. Wherever you’re going, he just wants to come along. A soft place to curl up, a ride with his favorite people, and someone to love—that’s his kind of perfect day.

Story

Unfortunately, due to my busy schedule and not being able to give her the time and attention she deserves, I am looking for a great home for our girl Zelda. Zelda is a sweet, loyal, and protective dog. She is about 1 year old, crate trained, house trained, up to date on her shots, and very smart. She loves being around people and would make an amazing companion for the right family or individual. This is not an easy decision, and I want to make sure she goes to a home where she will be loved and treated like family.

Story

Meet Oslo!Oslo is a 1.5 year old Great Dane Mastiff mix. He was found by animal control in a known dog dumping location near the Catawba River in Lancaster, SC. Oslo was brought to the shelter where he was there for 3 months before he was pulled by Charlotte Sheltered Souls Animal Rescue.Oslo came into the rescue extremely skinny - only weighing about 70 lbs (which is extremely underweight for a Great Dane/Mastiff). Oslo has since been thriving in his foster home, where he is with other dogs, cats, and human children.Oslo is a big goofball. He may be large but he is afraid of his own shadow. He is your typical gentle giant that does not understand how big he is. He is very gentle with other dogs and is afraid of cats. He loves people and is very snuggly.Oslo would do well in a variety of households and would thrive in a home with another dog to play with. He is very food motivated and knows how to sit.
