Story
Tall Titan, is a strong and remarkable  Warrior, a dog that has fought to be alive and walking  today on this earth.  He has willed himself to come from the depths of pain and starvation to become this handsome boy that you see right now.  He is our Super Hero Pup and our example of a creature that has never given up even when it would have been easier to just go to sleep and never wake up.  When Titan came to a rescue lady’s house that Critter Cavalry knows, this boy was malnourished and just a skeleton of the puppy he should be as a Great Dane.  The lady has a love for the Danes and she asked CCR to please take him into our rescue before she fell in love and couldn’t let him go.  She had enough dogs and just felt the temptation to keep him was too great.  We agreed and soon Titan was ours to raise and get prepped for a new home and family.  Shortly afterwards his foster family noticed he was struggling to walk and his joints were inflamed. Titan was taken to several vets before receiving the diagnosis of  Hypertrophic osteodystrophy (HOD). He has been put on a regimen of medications, high calorie food and hydrotherapy and is now running, jumping and playing with other dogs. His favorite things to do are play with toys, run and nap in the sun. Titan is a large dog and will do best in a home with another large dog or two that he will be able to play with. He will continue to need medication intermittently for some time and to be followed by a veterinarian.  If you have large breed dog experience and are willing to take on this fellas special needs please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue. He is not house trained to hold longer than 4 hours.  He needs to eat separately at mealtimes and he needs to learn better how to play with his toys in a group setting if there are other dogs.  If he is the only dog then there is no special monitoring.  Titan rides like a champ in the car or truck and he is definitely crate trained with good dog/name recall.  He would be easier to watch in the yard if you had a real physical fence installed since he likes to wander off out of curiosity.   Please email Critter Cavalry at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested.  He is great with young children/boys that are rough and tumble and lots of noise. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJune 20, 2024, 12:10 am

Story
Quick Facts: Estimated Birthday: 1/24/2023 Breed: Great Dane Mix Size: roughly 100 pounds House Trained: Yes Athena came to the rescue after an amazing bystander overheard her owners planning to dump her at a dog park! This hero bystander jumped in and contacted us about taking in the dog. Athena may be a big girl, but she only has two speeds: 1. Play like crazy with her foster dog brothers, and 2. cuddle on the couch with a chew toy. Her favorite activity is playing with her foster dog brother, who is roughly about her size. She loves to cuddle with him and run in the yard with him. She is also a trained shadow… some may say “velcro dog”…and will follow you around the house. Athena is very dog-friendly to both large and small dogs. She walks well on a leash but does not enjoy car rides. She won’t fight it, but it’s her least favorite activity. She has not been cat tested. Athena is fully potty-trained, but she firmly believes that the rain will kill her, and sometimes, getting her to go out in storms can be a challenge. Athena would probably not be best left alone without supervision. She is a bit of a chewer. She is crated trained and sleeps in her crate. However, Athena is very smart and has learned how to escape a regular crate. She will need a heavy-duty, double-enforced one in her new home. Before emailing- please read: - Yes, this dog is available for adoption - The adoption fee for Athena is $465 - Apply at c2cnd.org - The adoption fee covers their age appropriate shots, microchip, deworming, spay/neuter, and any other medical expenses while in our care. - Local adopters only. Due to our thorough adoption process including home visits, we limit our adoptions to local families in the greater Charlotte area. - If you have any additional questions, email us at dogs@c2cnd.org and we will respond as soon as possible!

Story
Meet Hope! She is a 10 month old (DOB 5/26/2023) Great Dane mix, weighing in at 60 lbs. This is a gentle girl that would do great with any family. She is dog and kid friendly, and has not chased the cats. She walks great on a leash. She knows basic commands like sit. She is still a baby so she needs some patience with house training. She is on a diet to help her with gaining weight as she was a little skinny when she arrived. She has been spayed, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, microchipped and ready to find her fur-ever family. If you have interest in this great girl, please fill out an adoption application at Richardsonrescue.org and come make this sweet girl apart of you pack. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 20, 2024, 9:55 am

Story
Meet Waylon! This Gentle Giant was born on 7/4/2021 and weighs 127 lbs. He is a sweet boy that gets along well with other male dogs, but did have a female dog in his previous home that would go after him, so he would react. His neighbor here at the rescue is female and we have not had any issues. He is a love bug that loves attention and is a big cuddle bug. He is leash trained, crate trained, and house trained. He did not bother the barn cats at his previous home but did chase the chickens. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, microchipped and ready to romp and play at his new home. If you have Dane, or large dog experience and would like to make this great guy apart of your family, please fill out an adoption application at Richardsonrescue.org.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 20, 2024, 9:55 am
