Story
Tall Titan, is a strong and remarkable  Warrior,  a dog that has fought to be alive and walking  today on this earth.  He has willed himself to come from the depths of pain and starvation to become this handsome boy that you see right now.  He is our Super Hero Pup and our example of a creature that has never given up even when it would have been easier to just go to sleep and never wake up.    When Titan came to a rescue lady’s house that Critter Cavalry knows, this boy was malnourished and just a skeleton of the puppy he should be as a Great Dane.  The lady has a love for the Danes and she asked CCR to please take him into our rescue before she fell in love and couldn’t let him go.  She had enough dogs and just felt the temptation to keep him was too great.  We agreed and soon Titan was ours to raise and get prepped for a new home and family.  Shortly afterwards his foster family noticed he was struggling to walk and his joints were inflamed. Titan was taken to several vets before receiving the diagnosis of  Hypertrophic osteodystrophy (HOD). He has been put on a regimen of medications, high calorie food and hydrotherapy and is now running, jumping and playing with other dogs. His favorite things to do are play with toys, run and nap in the sun. Titan is a large dog and will do best in a home with another large dog or two that he will be able to play with. He will continue to need medication intermittently for some time and to be followed by a veterinarian.  If you have large breed dog experience and are willing to take on this fellas special needs please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue. He is not house trained to hold longer than 4 hours.  He needs to eat separately at mealtimes and he needs to learn better how to play with his toys in a group setting if there are other dogs.  If he is the only dog then there is no special monitoring.   Titan rides like a champ in the car or truck and he is definitely crate trained with good dog/name recall.  He would be easier to watch in the yard if you had a real physical fence installed since he likes to wander off out of curiosity.   Please email Critter Cavalry at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested.  He is great with young children/boys that are rough and tumble and lots of noise. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 26, 2024, 11:20 pm

Story
Quick Facts: Estimated Birthday: 1/24/2023 Breed: Great Dane Mix Size: roughly 100 pounds House Trained: Yes Athena came to the rescue after an amazing bystander overheard her owners planning to dump her at a dog park! This hero bystander jumped in and contacted us about taking in the dog. Athena may be a big girl, but she only has two speeds: 1. Play like crazy with her foster dog brothers, and 2. cuddle on the couch with a chew toy. Her favorite activity is playing with her foster dog brother, who is roughly about her size. She loves to cuddle with him and run in the yard with him. She is also a trained shadow… some may say “velcro dog”…and will follow you around the house. Athena is very dog-friendly to both large and small dogs. She walks well on a leash but does not enjoy car rides. She won’t fight it, but it’s her least favorite activity. She has not been cat tested. Athena is fully potty-trained, but she firmly believes that the rain will kill her, and sometimes, getting her to go out in storms can be a challenge. Athena would probably not be best left alone without supervision. She is a bit of a chewer. She is crated trained and sleeps in her crate. However, Athena is very smart and has learned how to escape a regular crate. She will need a heavy-duty, double-enforced one in her new home. Before emailing- please read: - Yes, this dog is available for adoption - The adoption fee for Athena is $458 - Apply at c2cnd.org - The adoption fee covers their age appropriate shots, microchip, deworming, spay/neuter, and any other medical expenses while in our care. - Local adopters only. Due to our thorough adoption process including home visits, we limit our adoptions to local families in the greater Charlotte area. - If you have any additional questions, email us at dogs@c2cnd.org and we will respond as soon as possible!

contact foster parent at BLUEPAW5A@GMAIL.COMFrankie is a fantastic dog with a lot of love to share. He is a big goober who needs plenty of space to roam around. He loves to run and play and just be with his people. He hasn`t met a living being he doesn`t want to be friends with! He is very smart and eager to please his people, but can be a little stubborn. Frankie`s major needs are (1) a patient yet firm human and (2) a fenced-in backyard. Bonus points for a dog sibling. Frankie`s favorite activities include:• Eating his meals outdoors. He loves the fresh air and will wait at the back door with his bowl in his mouth.• Chewing on bones next to his human. He loves to touch you while he chews on his toys so you can tell him what a good boy he is.• Running laps in the backyard and digging some holes if mom isn`t watching.• Playing tug-of-war with his foster dog sister.• Giving kisses.More about Frankie:• Completed his fast-kill heartworm treatment in November. He is ready for his active lifestyle.• Dog friendly. Does well with dogs of different genders and sizes but would thrive best co-existing with a female dog.• Strong boy but walks well with a harness• Knows `sit`, `crate`, `enough`, `come.` Working on `down`, `release.`• Loves people - kids included!• High energy but very manageable - his foster has lots of tips for what keeps Frankie occupied• House broken• Crate trained • Did I mention he loves his chew toys/ bones?

Story
Meet Roscoe! He is  a handsome blue Great Dane that will be 6 years old on 3/10/2024. He came to the rescue after he was found running the streets and emaciated. Since then we have had him here as our own office dog where he is becoming protective. He is a really sweet boy, and we do love him, but we believe he would do better in a home with a lot less traffic than we have here. We are looking for a home that has experience with his bred.  He loves playing tug of war with ropes, he is very treat motivated, crate, house, and leash trained, and does great with other dogs. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, and ready to find him a forever family. Please fill out an adoption application at Richardsonrescue.org if you would like to come meet this Big Baby. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 26, 2024, 4:00 pm
