Story
Meet Boone the Dane! Quick Facts: Breed: Great Dane Age: 1 year (estimated DOB 2/22/22) Size: 136# and still growing! Boone the Dane was rescued by a good Samaritan who witnessed him being thrown from a vehicle. Outside of some allergies and several calluses on his legs that are trying to heal, this guy is healthy and ready to find his forever family! He will need a diet WITHOUT chicken, as he is allergic. It not only causes itching and the need to treat with medication, but it also greatly upsets his stomach, and given the size of his digestive system - it's a no for me, dawg. Boone the Dane's strength equally matches his energy level, which is not low by any stretch of the imagination. He is working real hard on his listening skills, but as a 136# adolescent giant, his family will need to out-stubborn him. He is incredibly smart and wants to learn, but will need clear and consistent expectations from every member of his household in order to be successful. He currently knows sit & shake, & will walk well on a leash until something more interesting than you catches his eye. Unless your kids want to know what it's like to be a tractor plow, we REALLY don't recommend anyone with less than Hulk strength on the other end of his leash at this time. He has not formally been introduced to his foster's other dogs at this point in his training regimen, but he seems to enjoy their company & whines when they go outside without him. He has never met a cat, nor any children, but he is super sweet and loves to give kisses to pure strangers. He has a HUGE heart and lots of love to give to someone who can help reign in his manners. He is working on learning that jumping on you is not an acceptable greeting, and listens well to corrections in the moment. He doesn't quite understand the value or purpose of toys unless it is to harbor yummy peanut butter or snacks - why play with ropes when he can have food?! Boone the Dane LOVES car rides, almost as much as he likes attempting to climb in the driver's seat during the entire thing. Pair this terrible habit with his other need to place the majority of his upper body out the window.. annnnd you'll definitely need to budget a sturdy dog-seatbelt to keep everyone safe on your way to get him a pupaccino. Boone the Dane has some hops he's pretty proud of, so if you have a fence, we are recommending a sturdy, 6 ft fence to keep him and his puppy antics contained in your backyard and not romping around the neighborhood the second you're not staring into his corneas. He's got some unresolved beef with the neighboring pot-bellied pigs, so it's unlikely he would be living his best life on a farm. He is crate trained and house trained. Before emailing- please read: - Yes, this dog is available for adoption - The adoption fee for Boone the Dane is $458 - Apply at c2cnd.org - The adoption fee covers their age appropriate shots, microchip, deworming, spay/neuter, and any other medical expenses while in our care. - Local adopters only. Due to our thorough adoption process including home visits, we limit our adoptions to local families in the greater Charlotte area. - If you have any additional questions, email us at dogs@c2cnd.org and we will respond as soon as possible!

Zeus is ready for adoption! He's an awesome big boy! Zeus is still a puppy, but he is smart and is learning all of his manners. He can sit and stay. He loves going outside and is doing very well with house-breaking. Zeus loves to play in the yard and then come in for a nap on the couch. He gives kisses and is a real sweetheart. Zeus does best with female dogs. With males he gets too dominant. Zeus would do well with a family with kids and female dogs, as he loves to play! No kids for this big fella. He is good on a leash, as well. Could you be his furever??!! Send us an email or message with questions!

Story
My name is Ollie, and I am looking for my forever family… I’m only about 8 months old and I’m probably a Dane mix because I’m small for my age… whatever that means. I only weigh about 75 lbs. and I think I’m perfectly lap-sized! My foster mom tells me that good things come in small packages (that must be true, because treats come in small packages). Don’t let my sad eyes fool you. I’m one happy pup! I love to play and go for walks (I’m always in search of the perfect stick), and then I like to come home and curl up on the sofa with my people. I will take as much affection as you can dish out, and my absolute favorite thing (other than treats) is a belly rub. Did I mention I like treats? My foster dad says I am good on a leash, and he is teaching me to “heel.” He says I’m very smart, I learn quickly, and I’m eager to please. I already know “sit” and “down.” Well, most of the time. I’m learning a lot of new things right now, so sometimes I forget. I also know “no” (I hear that one a lot, especially when I get really excited and want to jump on my people-friends). My foster parents say that my manners are getting better every day, though. My foster mom tells me that I’m really good in the house. I don’t have accidents, and I don’t “counter surf” or “dumpster dive” (I don’t even know what those things are). I like my crate; it’s where I sleep and it’s where I go when my foster mom tells me it’s time to chill out. Even though I’m a puppy, I don’t chew on furniture or shoes, but I do love “helping” people put on their socks! It’s one of my favorite games. I also like to chew on hands and arms (they taste so good!), but foster mom says I can’t and I’m learning to chew on my toys instead. I love ropes and chew toys and furry things that squeak (and that have stuffing I can rip out). I’m still learning how to be what my foster mom calls a “gentleman” and I can get pretty excited sometimes, so I probably would not do well in a house with small children. An adult-only household (or one with teenage kids) might be best, as I’ll need consistent training and some discipline until I find my grown-up groove. I’m currently in a house with no other animals, but I am really interested in meeting new dog-friends. Let’s be clear: cats are for chasing. Meeting new people is still a little scary for me (I was a stray and had a really tough time adjusting to life in a shelter). I can get a little defensive and bark when I meet someone new, but all it takes is a treat and a few kind words to win me over. Once we’ve bonded, I am devoted to you. I just want to be where you are, give you kisses, and get some love in return. Ollie is being fostered in Conway SC. If interested in adopting you can email us at info@greatdanefriends.com. A fenced yard will be required.*****Great Dane Friends of Ruff Love covers NC and surrounding states for adoptions. Story
I am Kismet, AKA Ms Kizzy. I am 21 in dog years (3 in human) and the mother of 9 healthy and happy puppies. They have all moved on and I am ready to meet my forever family. I am house and crate trained. I don’t have to stay in a crate since I am good at free roam. Just don’t leave anything, especially carbs, someplace I can reach. I will greet you at the door with a wagging tail, dancing feet and probably a stuffie. I love lying in the sun on the deck but will happily play catch/keep away too. I know basic commands but need some polishing. I am a quick learner since my mission is to please. I am good in the car and at doggie daycare with all my new friends. I don’t mind thunderstorms but I am not a fan fireworks. I currently live with a grumpy old man Dane. I respect his body language when he hints that enough is enough. I would also be happy to have a playmate now that I am an empty nester and have some free time and energy. I ride great in the car and I’m good with kids and cats and other dogs. Kismet is being fostered in Greenville SC. If interested in adopting email at info@greatdanefriends.com *****Great Dane Friends of Ruff Love covers NC and surrounding states for adoptions.
