Story
Sweet Winnie is a year and a half and weighs in at 75 lbs. She does have some Great Dane in her bloodline. She is very loving and affectionate, loves to bring her toys to you. She would be great with dogs her size as she is a little too much for smaller dogs. She also does well with the kitties. She is looking for a fun loving forever home to go on adventures with her. If you would like to meet this wonderful girl, please continue to read and fill out our on line application. https://cliffordsarmyrescue.com/1423-2/ RECOMMENDATIONS & PROCEDURES Please note, the following are recommendations for puppies and different breeds of dogs. We will evaluate each application on an individual basis to see what is best for the dog/puppy and the potential adopter. Puppies are very fragile and not toys. We recommend children be at least six years old to be considered to adopt a puppy. Small breed dogs ( such as chihuahuas, yorkies, shih tzus , etc) we recommend children be at least eight years old. Herding, working breeds we recommend children to be at least 12 years old. Again these are recommendations. Adoption Procedures: We will travel up to two hours ( one way) to do physical home visits and we do not do virtual home visits. Most of our dogs come from bad situations and we want to know where their forever home is going to be. While we do not require fencing on all dogs, certain dogs that need a fenced in yard, will not be adopted unless potential adopter has one. We also adopt some dogs to people who live in apartments ( as long as the landlord approves) but not all dogs. We do not adopt to anyone under 21 years of age. We also do not feel college students are the best fit for most of our dogs. Most of our dogs again, come from bad situations and need lots of attention. Most college students have financial responsibilities and we feel need to be focused on school. Our goal is to match the dog with a family that fits the dog’s needs. We are solely focused on what is best for each dog in our rescue. These dogs have had enough moving around, dumped out like trash, and we want to ensure they find their forever home. We do require you sign a contract and if at any time you cannot continue to provide for the dog, the dog comes back to the rescue. Your first step to adoption is filling our our on line application. You will then get an automated email stating we got your application Next our adoption coordinator will be in touch either by phone or email If your references check out, a home visit will be scheduled. After the home visit is done, a meet and greet with the dog you are interested in and/or any other available dogs we have will be scheduled If the dog and you are a match, contract will be signed and you may take your new family member home. Story
Meet sweet boy Kipper. Kipper was born August 30, 2023. He, his littermates and his mom ended up at the local county shelter. We pulled him and the rest of his family. Mom is a Great Dane mix, dad or dads were traveling salesmen and did not leave their card for us to find out who they were. Best guess is Dane/Lab mix. Kipper weighs in at 55 lbs. He does have a unique breathing pattern. Once he is tired, he breathes very heavily. We have taken him to specialists, and they said it is nothing to be alarmed about, just genetic. Kipper is great with other dogs and cats. He also loves, loves, loves his people. He like to snuggle and lean into you to get as close as possible to you. Could Kipper be the match for your new family member? If you think so, please continue to read and fill out our on line app. ( link at the bottom of the info) RECOMMENDATIONS & PROCEDURES Please note, the following are recommendations for puppies and different breeds of dogs. Story
Hi! My name is Kanga and I am looking for my human to love, snuggle and cuddle with! I am a Great Dane mix, with the looks of a Dane but a bit smaller. I do love to snuggle and even though I am a pretty big girl, I love to crawl up in your lap! Super sweet with everyone I meet! I walk well on a leash, and will gladly go hiking or walking with you. I do have a good bit of energy so a fenced in yard would be great! We could play fetch and other games together. Did I say I had a good bit of energy and loved to play??? I need a bit more work in the house as I have been known to counter surf. I am crate trained but need more work on my house training. I am 4 years old and very smart. I want to be with you as much as possible. Just look into my beautiful baby blues and you will hopefully fall in love with me as much as I will love you. Story
Hera is a 2 year old gentle giant. She loves to cuddle and relax. She can be shy at times but overall has a good temperament. She weighs 125 lbs and she definitely doesn’t know that she is a giant dog. We are hopeful to rehome Hera to a loving home that can be more attentive to her.

Story
Meet Juniper — Your Gentle, Curious Companion! Sweet, soulful Juniper is a beautiful mix of curiosity and heart. Rescued from a shelter in September, this lovely girl (estimated to be around 2–4 years old) has blossomed in her foster home and is ready to find her forever family. Juniper is still learning that the world is a safe place, so she’ll need a patient, loving owner who can help her continue to build her confidence. Once she warms up, she’s incredibly affectionate — a total snuggle bug who adores her humans. She’s happiest with another friendly dog by her side to show her the ropes and loves wrestling and cuddling with her foster siblings. Juniper has been great around kids of all ages, though she’d thrive best in a quieter home without lots of constant noise or activity. Her perfect match? An active family that’s home often or loves bringing their pup along for adventures. She’s learning that food and love are always there for her — and she’ll reward you with endless loyalty, warmth, and tail wags. Juniper is ready to meet the patient, kindhearted family who will help her bloom into the confident, joyful dog she’s meant to be. Could that be you? Juniper is being fostered in Chapel Hill NC. If interested in applying email us at info@greatdanefriends.com *****Great Dane Friends of Ruff Love covers NC and surrounding states for adoptions. We require a fenced yard (exceptions made on a case by case basis - NO exceptions for puppies or deaf/vision impaired dogs - no invisible fencing), that stairs in the home be covered with some sort of slip resistant material to prevent injury, that all other animals in the home be up to date on vaccinations as well as spayed/neutered and that all dogs live inside as a part of the family. Our approval process consists of an application, vet and reference checks, phone interview and house check. Please email us for an application or if you have any questions.*****   October 29, 2025, 3:31 pm
