Story
Hera is a 2 year old gentle giant. She loves to cuddle and relax. She can be shy at times but overall has a good temperament. She weighs 125 lbs and she definitely doesn’t know that she is a giant dog. We are hopeful to rehome Hera to a loving home that can be more attentive to her.

Story
Hi. Hello. Hi again. My name is Hank and I am, scientifically speaking, the bestest boy. Full transparency though: the world is BIG and LOUD and PEOPLE are kinda scary  . When I first landed with my foster dad, I needed a few solid weeks to decompress, observe from a safe distance, and decide if humans were… chill. Spoiler alert: my foster dad passed the vibe check. Once I felt safe, my true personality came out and WOW—I am a certified snuggle champion with a major affection streak. I currently live with two foster siblings (both Danes) and let me tell you—no fear there. We wrestle. We play tug-of-war. We steal toys from each other like professionals. They’ve helped boost my confidence a TON, and I would love to have fur siblings in my forever home. Fair warning: I play hard, so a sibling with energy and patience would be ideal. Outside the house? Still spooky. We’re working on leash skills and socializing. I’m not “bad” on a leash—I just sometimes sit down and politely refuse to continue because THE WORLD IS A LOT. Progress is happening, slowly and on my terms, and my foster dad is super patient with me (10/10 human). Now that I’m comfy, my puppy side is fully activated: • Goofy   • Clumsy   • Will steal anything I can reach   • Loves bringing sticks inside like priceless treasures   I’m almost fully potty trained, learning to sit and shake, and VERY food motivated (treats = trust). I’m kennel trained-ish—still not my favorite, but toss a couple treats in there and I’ll dramatically but obediently walk myself in. Oh, and ICE IS AMAZING. Truly elite snack. My foster dad says I’m going to make my future family incredibly happy. He’s really proud of how far I’ve come—and yeah, I think they’ll miss me—but he keeps telling me there’s a family out there who needs a sweet, sensitive, snuggly giant puppy like me to call their own. If you’re patient, kind, and ready to love a Dane puppy who’s learning that the world isn’t so scary… I might just be your guy.    Hank is being fostered in Fort Mill, SC.  If interested in adopting you can email us at info@greatdanefriends.com for an application.  A fenced yard is required to give Hank a safe off leash area to run and zoom. *****Great Dane Friends of Ruff Love covers NC and surrounding states for adoptions. We require a fenced yard (exceptions made on a case by case basis - NO exceptions for puppies or deaf/vision impaired dogs - no invisible fencing), that stairs in the home be covered with some sort of slip resistant material to prevent injury, that all other animals in the home be up to date on vaccinations as well as spayed/neutered and that all dogs live inside as a part of the family. Our approval process consists of an application, vet and reference checks, phone interview and house check. Please email us for an application or if you have any questions.*****   January 11, 2026, 2:23 pm

Story
Meet Juniper — Your Gentle, Curious Companion! Sweet, soulful Juniper is a beautiful mix of curiosity and heart. Rescued from a shelter in September, this lovely girl (estimated to be around 2–4 years old) has blossomed in her foster home and is ready to find her forever family. Juniper is still learning that the world is a safe place, so she’ll need a patient, loving owner who can help her continue to build her confidence. Once she warms up, she’s incredibly affectionate — a total snuggle bug who adores her humans. She’s happiest with another friendly dog by her side to show her the ropes and loves wrestling and cuddling with her foster siblings. Juniper has been great around kids of all ages, though she’d thrive best in a quieter home without lots of constant noise or activity. Her perfect match? An active family that’s home often or loves bringing their pup along for adventures. She’s learning that food and love are always there for her — and she’ll reward you with endless loyalty, warmth, and tail wags. Juniper is ready to meet the patient, kindhearted family who will help her bloom into the confident, joyful dog she’s meant to be. Could that be you? Juniper is being fostered in Chapel Hill NC. Story
Meet Sadie Smart. Curious. Already growing into her big-dog future Sadie was born September 2, 2025, and at just a few months old she is already reached 30 pounds, giving a very real preview of the strong, athletic large-breed dog she’s becoming. The first thing people notice about Sadie is her incredible ears—always alert, expressive, and impossible to miss. They perfectly match her curious, thoughtful personality. Sadie is a Great Dane–forward mix (Great Dane, Cane Corso, American Pit Bull Terrier, Siberian Husky/German Shepherd) and is expected to mature into a 60–80 lb adult. Sadie at a glance DOB: 9/2/2025 Current weight: ~30 lbs and growing Breed mix: Great Dane, Cane Corso, APBT, Husky/German Shepherd Expected adult size: Large (approx. 60–80 lbs) Energy: Puppy energy with a solid ability to settle Personality: Smart, curious, playful, sweet, and socially aware People: Friendly and appropriate with adults Children: Has met young children and did very well—curious, gentle, and respectful Dogs: Social and adaptable; reads cues well and adjusts play Cats: Untested Life with Sadie Sadie enjoys playtime, exploration, and learning new things—but she also knows how to rest. After activity, she settles nicely indoors and is comfortable relaxing on her own or in her crate. She’s already showing the kind of balance that experienced large-breed adopters value. She’s comfortable in a home environment, handles routine well, and continues to build confidence through normal puppy experiences. Training & manners Crate trained Nearly house-trained; goes to the door when she needs to potty (normal puppy supervision applies) Leash skills: Still learning, as expected; redirects well with a martingale collar or harness Car rides: Does well and settles on longer trips Cues she knows: sit, wait, no, off Working on: down, stay, and come Motivation: Enjoys treats and engagement; responds well to praise and interaction Social style Sadie approaches new people thoughtfully and politely. With other dogs, she shows good social awareness—matching energy and giving space when appropriate. She has done well meeting young children, showing curiosity and gentleness with appropriate supervision. She could thrive as an only dog or enjoy having canine companions. Sadie is being fostered in Anderson SC. If interested in adopting email us at info@greatdanefriends.com for an application. A fenced yard will be required so she has a safe place to run and romp and do all the puppy things! *****Great Dane Friends of Ruff Love covers NC and surrounding states for adoptions. Story
Hi!  My name is Archer but my foster mom calls me Archie.  I'm a smart boy and answer to both names.   I was born on November 19, 2018 which means I'll be 7years old soon.   I act very young for my age and love to go for short walks (I walk very nicely on a leash) and especially love car rides.  I play very enthusiastically with my foster sister who is only 2 years old.  There are 3 cats in the house but I ignore them.  I have been to PetSmart and Lowes and have done really well.  I'm still a little hesitant of big men and of little kids ( kids 12 yrs and up would be best) but we are working on that!  When they are around I like to hide behind mom!  I'm a very smart boy and know all my basic commands but don't really like the STAY one.  I'm potty trained and trustworthy in the house but would prefer being with you to being left behind.  I had some skin issues, ear infections and eye infections when I arrived but those are all clear now. I am a super sweet boy who is looking for a soft place to land...a FOREVER home of my own!  Please consider this sweetest older boy.  Archer is being fostered in Jacksonville NC.  If interested in adopting please email us at info@greatdanefriends.com for an application. *****Great Dane Friends of Ruff Love covers NC and surrounding states for adoptions.
