After a difficult start to life—being neglected and treated poorly for not looking like his siblings—Milo is ready for a fresh beginning with a family who will cherish him. He’s a shy boy at first, but once he feels safe, Milo will give you his whole heart. He’s a total cuddle bug who wants to be as close to you as possible and will happily follow you from room to room. With his long legs and bouncy hops, he moves like a little kangaroo and brings constant smiles with his goofy, clumsy charm. Milo loves other dogs, enjoys playtime, and is learning the ropes in his foster home. He’s working on basic training, doing well with leash walks, sleeps in his crate at night, and looks to his older foster brother for confidence and guidance. Sweet Winnie is a year and a half and weighs in at 75 lbs. She does have some Great Dane in her bloodline. She is very loving and affectionate, loves to bring her toys to you. She would be great with dogs her size as she is a little too much for smaller dogs. She also does well with the kitties. She is looking for a fun loving forever home to go on adventures with her. We will evaluate each application on an individual basis to see what is best for the dog/puppy and the potential adopter. Puppies are very fragile and not toys. We recommend children be at least six years old to be considered to adopt a puppy. Small breed dogs ( such as chihuahuas, yorkies, shih tzus , etc) we recommend children be at least eight years old. Herding, working breeds we recommend children to be at least 12 years old. Again these are recommendations. Adoption Procedures: We will travel up to two hours ( one way) to do physical home visits and we do not do virtual home visits. Most of our dogs come from bad situations and we want to know where their forever home is going to be. While we do not require fencing on all dogs, certain dogs that need a fenced in yard, will not be adopted unless potential adopter has one. We also adopt some dogs to people who live in apartments ( as long as the landlord approves) but not all dogs. We do not adopt to anyone under 21 years of age. We also do not feel college students are the best fit for most of our dogs. Most of our dogs again, come from bad situations and need lots of attention. Most college students have financial responsibilities and we feel need to be focused on school. Our goal is to match the dog with a family that fits the dog’s needs. We are solely focused on what is best for each dog in our rescue. These dogs have had enough moving around, dumped out like trash, and we want to ensure they find their forever home. We do require you sign a contract and if at any time you cannot continue to provide for the dog, the dog comes back to the rescue. Your first step to adoption is filling our our on line application. You will then get an automated email stating we got your application Next our adoption coordinator will be in touch either by phone or email If your references check out, a home visit will be scheduled. After the home visit is done, a meet and greet with the dog you are interested in and/or any other available dogs we have will be scheduled If the dog and you are a match, contract will be signed and you may take your new family member home. Hi! My name is Kanga and I am looking for my human to love, snuggle and cuddle with! I am a Great Dane mix, with the looks of a Dane but a bit smaller. I do love to snuggle and even though I am a pretty big girl, I love to crawl up in your lap! Super sweet with everyone I meet! I walk well on a leash, and will gladly go hiking or walking with you. I do have a good bit of energy so a fenced in yard would be great! We could play fetch and other games together. Did I say I had a good bit of energy and loved to play??? I need a bit more work in the house as I have been known to counter surf. I am crate trained but need more work on my house training. I am 4 years old and very smart. Thor is a one-year-old Great Dane and Lab mix weighing 71 pounds, and his story already reads like the opening scene of a movie. Found running loose through a Tennessee neighborhood, this big, beautiful boy was moments away from tragedy when fate—and a young dog lover—stepped in. Twice Thor ran in front of her car, and instead of driving on, she stopped, opened her door, and called to him. Without hesitation, Thor leapt into the back seat as if he knew his life was about to change. And it did. With no collar and no microchip, Thor became part of Critter Cavalry Rescue and stayed with the very woman who saved him. From the moment he was safe, his true nature began to shine. Thor is strikingly handsome, with chiseled features and expressive ears that nearly stand straight up, giving him a regal, alert look—like a show dog who wandered off the Westminster runway and into a superhero origin story. But don’t let the model looks fool you. Thor is pure joy wrapped in a giant puppy body. He tosses toys into the air, pounces on squeaky treasures, and delights in balls and stuffed animals with the enthusiasm of a dog who is still discovering how fun life can be. He doesn’t quite realize how big or strong he is yet, but his heart is gentle and his spirit is eager. Thor is intelligent, focused, and deeply people-oriented. When you work with him, he locks onto you completely, especially if treats are involved, which makes training both effective and fun. He is wonderful with other dogs, showing no dominance or alpha behavior, just friendly curiosity and easygoing charm. Recently neutered, Thor is still growing and will likely fill out into a solid 90-pound adult over the next year. He is housebroken and currently learning that being alone doesn’t mean being abandoned, as crates aren’t quite his favorite place. Thor simply loves people and wants to be near them, soaking in companionship and reassurance. His liver-and-black coat shifts with the sunlight, turning heads wherever he goes, and making him unforgettable long after he’s passed by. Thor is the kind of dog who comes into your life once and leaves a permanent mark on your heart. He is waiting for someone to guide him, shape him, and grow with him into the extraordinary companion he is clearly meant to be.
