Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.Arkansas or nearby! Waylon is a 2 yr old Great Dane who came into rescue after he was found as a stray. He was in horrific shape and barely survived the level of starvation he endured. But he did survive and he is thriving now! Waylon is still slowly gaining weight, and has almost reached his ideal weight. He is VERY tall. He is so sweet and loving. He want to sit in your lap and cuddle with you, as if he is a 10lb lap dog rather than 120 lb Dane. While in his foster home, he has done well with most other dogs, but it is very structured and his time with other dogs is limited. He does seem to have a jealoys streak and is possessive of his people. He does great in a doggy daycare setting and has spent lots of time in daycare, doing very well with most dogs there. I think this is a lot different than how he will behave in a home setting with other dogs sharing his humans attention. For this reason, we would love to see him adopted into a home where he can be the only dog. He is not a candidate for a home with young kids. He is just too big and clumsy, and he really wants all the attention. I feel the he may become jealous of little kids and view them as competition. We just really want to set him up for success. He's been through enough in his short life amd we want it to be easy from here on our. Waylon holds a very special place in my heart. Hes been in my home through it all- recovering from starvation, happy tail and subsequent tail amputation, heartworm treatment. The odds were stacked against him, but he made it and now he's ready to find his own home. Waylon is located in Alexander, AR. We would prefer a local adopter, within driving distance. I think that transport would be really hard on him. For more info, email apps.aasr@gmail.com or message us privately.  To apply to adopt, You can find my form 'ADOPT A STRAY RESCUE' at: https://form.jotform.com/212690945239059Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter,  up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion. Story
Current Location: Parsonsburg, MD Meet Black Beauty: A Stunning Great Dane Ready for the Right Match At 95 pounds and 2 years old, this stunning Great Dane is exactly what his name promises: absolutely beautiful. With his sleek black coat and commanding presence, Black Beauty is a head turner who embodies everything magnificent about this gentle giant breed. Black Beauty has a rambunctious play style that's full of energy and enthusiasm. He needs other dogs who are able to read his cues and interact well with his spirited approach to play. The good news? He's lived successfully with several other dogs, kids, and even cats, showing that with the right companions and environment, he can thrive in a multi pet household. This active boy would be best in an environment where he has space to run and play. He needs regular exercise to burn off his energy and keep him happy and balanced. Black Beauty also loves puzzles and things that use his brain power, showing that he's not just physically active but mentally engaged as well. A Great Dane who can think and problem solve is a wonderful companion for someone who enjoys interactive training and enrichment activities. Due to his size and exuberance, Black Beauty would likely do best in a home without small children. His enthusiasm and large frame could be overwhelming for little ones, even though his intentions are purely loving. Black Beauty is waiting for someone who knows and loves the Great Dane breed, someone who understands their unique needs and incredible hearts. He needs a companion and guide who can provide him with structure, exercise, mental stimulation, and the love he deserves. If you're experienced with large breeds and ready for a stunning, intelligent boy who will fill your life with loyalty and companionship, Black Beauty is ready to meet you.

Story
Bocephus is 3.5 years old. We have had him since he was a puppy. We have two other dogs. He started having knee issues a year and a half ago. We have had both knees repaired/replaced. Since his knee issues he would randomly fight one of my other dogs. This continued after the second surgery. He got into a fight on Sunday again and we just cannot keep him with the other two. He has never shown aggression to humans or even our chickens. He has never bit or nipped anyone. He is a great dog, but just needs a home with no other pets.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.Dolly has large Great Dane genes grafted onto a somewhat smaller body. Not that anyone would ever call her small, but you would say she's a manageable size, which is perfect. If you love the Dane look, but aren't sure you could handle a full size model, we have Dolly waiting for you. She is currently only 60 lbs., but that is a bit deceiving, as she is very underweight. We would like to see at least 15 lbs. more on her ribs and we are working on it. She is now getting top quality groceries, something she has never had before. Still a young dog, at only about 2 years old, she is in the process of learning about how to deal with the world around her and she is learning fast. Her foster has some comments to help you understand this 'dog-in-progress. 'She’s nervous around new people and things. She does warm up after a bit. Her initial reaction to people that she doesn’t know is to low growl. She is trying to tell everyone to give her a moment to process the new information. I don’t recommend a house with cats or small animals. She’ tries to chase down all the birds,  and squirrels when we’re outside. I’m fairly confident her life prior to rescue wasn’t a good one. It's heartbreaking seeing a good dog trying to cope with a world she was never shown. UPDATE:I have had her for a month now, and she is learning! I took her to the vet today, and while she was nervous, she did not growl. So there has been improvement on that aspect. She wasn’t super outgoing and wanting everyone’s attention, so definitely stand by the slower to warm up to strangers. I highly suspect she’s been abused. She is highly intelligent and learns new things really fast.  She really has the potential to be an excellent dog, and wants to be loved and please her person. MORE UPDATE: Since being here at my house over a month now I have some new insights into her. She is not dog friendly with all dogs.  She's OK with my male dog, but not so happy with my female.  I've been working on getting her to ignore people on walks and she's doing better. She doesn't like it if strangers get to close when we are out.  In the yard. she's definitely going to need at least a 6 foot fence to keep her safely secured.  I will say, she is house trained and does let you know when she needs to go out. She also does very well in her kennel. She is very smart, and can learn things pretty quickly. She has all her shots and is ready and waiting for the person or family who like bigger dogs, but aren't ready for an actual Goliath. Dolly is a good girl! She is hoping you will want to help her be a good dog and come for her soon.   If you are interested in Dolly, please fill out an application at: https://reachoutrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=4588    Or contact: rorrcanine@gmail.com   *** Click here to sponsor this dog! ***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 26, 2025, 11:42 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Walter! Walter is a young Great Dane mix pup with legendary ears — we’re pretty sure he can pick up satellite signals with those things. He’s still growing into them (and into himself), so yes… he’s going to be a big boy. Big body, even bigger heart. Walter is the total package: &#226&#156&#168 Dog friendly &#226&#156&#168 Cat friendly &#226&#156&#168 Kid approved (he LOVES them) He’s a toy enthusiast who’s perfectly happy entertaining himself, but when the toys are done, he’s all about his people. Walter’s signature move? The lean. If you’re petting him, expect a full-body Great Dane lean that says, “Yes, this is my human now.” This smart cookie already knows basic commands, is housetrained, and is working on polishing up his leash manners. He hasn’t been crated, hasn’t been destructive, and clearly understands that good boys don’t chew the furniture. Walter is up to date on vaccines and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. He’s being lovingly fostered near Dornsife, PA, and is ready to bring laughter, love, and a whole lot of ear flapping into his forever home. If you’ve been looking for a gentle giant in the making with a goofy side and a heart of gold — Walter is your guy.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ Click here for the ADOPTION APPLICATION if you are interested in adopting this pet. Applications are the first step in the adoption process. Please do not call or email simply to express interest. We are all volunteers and receiving your application saves us time and helps to determine the best match for both people and dogs.  We provide as much information as we currently have on each dog in their description. For questions on the adoption process, including fees, please review the Adoption page. If you have additional questions or are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application. Once we receive your application someone will be in touch to answer your questions. We do not arrange visits to meet dogs without an application.
