Story
Hello, I am Quinn! I came to the shelter as a stray along with a doggie friend. She`s since been adopted, and I`m just as frazzled as to why I`m not adopted. I may enjoy living with another dog again, as long as they are fairly calm, because I tend to be a nervous nelly. I am open to living with children of all ages as long as they can respect that I am shy and sensitive at first (I don`t seem to know my own size!). I am not sure how I feel about cats but I am willing to try with proper introduction. It may take me some time to come out of my shell, but with patience I will surely be a loving and personable pooch. I may be an older lady but that doesn`t mean I am any less deserving of a wonderful family, happiness, and companionship for the rest of my life!My foster has learned that I am housebroken, and that after a bit of time letting me come out of my shell, I`ll open up and start letting you know what I want, which is usually a cuddle on the couch. Please make an appointment to meet me and take me home!---If you are interested in adopting, you must complete an application and make an appointment, as I am IN FOSTER CARE. Completed apps includes a photo ID, proof of address, and everyone in the home including resident dogs with vaccination history. We are open daily 12-6pm.---The Pennsylvania SPCA - Lancaster Center848 S. Prince St. Lancaster PA 17603Kennel #16516717-917-6979lancaster@pspca.org

Story
Any Great Dane lovers out there?! Meet Bella! Bella is the sweetest, goofiest, and most loving girl who is looking for her forever home. Bella is a 2 year old, 81 pound Great Dane that was surrendered to Zoes House Rescue. Bella's favorite way to spend her day is playing with toys, chewing a bone, getting tons of pets, exploring on walks, and napping on an empty (or full, she doesn't mind) lap! Bella has responded well to all people and dogs that she has met. Bella is very food motivated and has been doing a great job with training. She will show you all of her skills when asked to sit, stay, and shake. Bella is leash trained and loves exploring new environments. She can be timid when seeing new places and things but warms up very quickly once she is reminded that she is okay! Bella is a two year old but you would hardly know it with all the energy and fun she brings to your home! She enjoys burning energy by going on walks, chewing on bones, or solving puzzles. She enjoys challenges that keep her engaged so kongs, puzzles or lick mats have been fun activities for her to try. Bella does great in a crate and sleeps well in it throughout the night. Bella has not had a single accident in her foster home. Potty training regression could be expected when getting familiar with a new environment. Bella’s Perfect Home: Bella is an easy-going girl that could fit into many different family scenarios . However, it would be best if any future human siblings would be older and dog savvy to ensure that Bella’s size does not overwhelm them. Bella would be great as an only dog so that she could have her family's undivided attention but she has previously lived with other dogs. Bella is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, spayed, and has been on flea/tick/heartworm prevention since coming into the rescue. If you think you are the right family, apply today at: www.zoeshouserescue.com. Kennel License #9117 PO Box2372 Reading, PA 19608

Visit us on the web at https://fur-everpaws.com/fur-ever-paws-adoption-application/ to submit an application. Please contact the foster directly at 302-312-5129 (text or call) or via email at fureverpawsdogrescue@gmail.com Fur Ever Paws Dog Rescue is a small no kill rescue operating in the Delaware/Maryland area. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit that rescues and places homeless, neglected or abused dogs from high-kill shelters in the south into loving, responsible committed and permanent homes. We feel our comprehensive adoption process which includes not only taking the time to match the dog to the prospective new owner but helping to educate that owner in responsible dog care, allows us to find the best homes for our little buddies and the best companions for you! Each week we use USDA certified transports to bring dogs from high-kill shelters in the south to our fosters where they all receive the appropriate medical care and are placed in nurturing loving homes while they await placement in their forever homes. Interested in one of our dogs? Great! Now that you've seen them here you'll need to go to our website where you'll find our list of adoptable dogs (updated every week). Then, it's just a simple process of finding a dog you're interested in and filling out an application on our site. Once we receive your application, whoever is fostering that particular dog will contact you and do a short over the phone interview to complete your application process. If everything works out, they will set an appointment with you so come out and "visit" with the dog you're interested in (we want to make sure that not only are you a good fit for the dog but that the dog will fit with you). If everything works out, you'll be able to take rover (or spot, or jax) home with you that very day. A couple of things you should know: We can't hold dogs over the phone or via email. Adoption fees vary based on breed. All of our dogs have been vet checked and dewormed (if possible due to age, additional treatment may be needed). We provide a spay or neuter voucher to all of our adopters. &#226&#128&#139 December 8, 2024, 7:04 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.Dolly has large Great Dane genes grafted onto a somewhat smaller body. Not that anyone would ever call her small, but you would say she's a manageable size, which is perfect. If you love the Dane look, but aren't sure you could handle a full size model, we have Dolly waiting for you. She is currently only 60 lbs., but that is a bit deceiving, as she is very underweight. We would like to see at least 15 lbs. more on her ribs and we are working on it. She is now getting top quality groceries, something she has never had before. Still a young dog, at only about 2 years old, she is in the process of learning about how to deal with the world around her and she is learning fast. Her foster has some comments to help you understand this 'dog-in-progress. 'She’s nervous around new people and things. She does warm up after a bit. Her initial reaction to people that she doesn’t know is to low growl. She is trying to tell everyone to give her a moment to process the new information. I don’t recommend a house with cats or small animals. She’ tries to chase down all the birds,  and squirrels when we’re outside. I’m fairly confident her life prior to rescue wasn’t a good one. It's heartbreaking seeing a good dog trying to cope with a world she was never shown. UPDATE:I have had her for a month now, and she is learning! I took her to the vet today, and while she was nervous, she did not growl. So there has been improvement on that aspect. She wasn’t super outgoing and wanting everyone’s attention, so definitely stand by the slower to warm up to strangers. I highly suspect she’s been abused. She is highly intelligent and learns new things really fast.  She really has the potential to be an excellent dog, and wants to be loved and please her person. MORE UPDATE: Since being here at my house over a month now I have some new insights into her. She is not dog friendly with all dogs.  She's OK with my male dog, but not so happy with my female.  I've been working on getting her to ignore people on walks and she's doing better. She doesn't like it if strangers get to close when we are out.  In the yard. she's definitely going to need at least a 6 foot fence to keep her safely secured.  I will say, she is house trained and does let you know when she needs to go out. She also does very well in her kennel. She is very smart, and can learn things pretty quickly. She has all her shots and is ready and waiting for the person or family who like bigger dogs, but aren't ready for an actual Goliath. Dolly is a good girl! She is hoping you will want to help her be a good dog and come for her soon.   If you are interested in Dolly, please fill out an application at: https://reachoutrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=4588    Or contact: rorrcanine@gmail.com   *** Click here to sponsor this dog! ***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 5:13 pm
