Story
Charlie is a wonderful boy that just wants to be part of the family. He is kind, enjoys playing with other dogs and is respectful of cats. Charlie loves nothing more than going on long walks. Although he really enjoys being inside, you can often find him sleeping in the sun in the back yard. He is truly a gentle giant and enjoys taking a nap on the couch.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.Dolly has large Great Dane genes grafted onto a somewhat smaller body. Not that anyone would ever call her small, but you would say she's a manageable size, which is perfect. If you love the Dane look, but aren't sure you could handle a full size model, we have Dolly waiting for you. She is currently only 60 lbs., but that is a bit deceiving, as she is very underweight. We would like to see at least 15 lbs. more on her ribs and we are working on it. She is now getting top quality groceries, something she has never had before. Still a young dog, at only about 2 years old, she is in the process of learning about how to deal with the world around her and she is learning fast. Her foster has some comments to help you understand this 'dog-in-progress. 'She’s nervous around new people and things. She does warm up after a bit. Her initial reaction to people that she doesn’t know is to low growl. She is trying to tell everyone to give her a moment to process the new information. I don’t recommend a house with cats or small animals. She’ tries to chase down all the birds,  and squirrels when we’re outside. I’m fairly confident her life prior to rescue wasn’t a good one. It's heartbreaking seeing a good dog trying to cope with a world she was never shown. UPDATE:I have had her for a month now, and she is learning! I took her to the vet today, and while she was nervous, she did not growl. So there has been improvement on that aspect. She wasn’t super outgoing and wanting everyone’s attention, so definitely stand by the slower to warm up to strangers. I highly suspect she’s been abused. She is highly intelligent and learns new things really fast.  She really has the potential to be an excellent dog, and wants to be loved and please her person. MORE UPDATE: Since being here at my house over a month now I have some new insights into her. She is not dog friendly with all dogs.  She's OK with my male dog, but not so happy with my female.  I've been working on getting her to ignore people on walks and she's doing better. She doesn't like it if strangers get to close when we are out.  In the yard. she's definitely going to need at least a 6 foot fence to keep her safely secured.  I will say, she is house trained and does let you know when she needs to go out. She also does very well in her kennel. She is very smart, and can learn things pretty quickly. She has all her shots and is ready and waiting for the person or family who like bigger dogs, but aren't ready for an actual Goliath. Dolly is a good girl! She is hoping you will want to help her be a good dog and come for her soon.   If you are interested in Dolly, please fill out an application at: https://reachoutrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=4588    Or contact: rorrcanine@gmail.com   *** Click here to sponsor this dog! ***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 12, 2024, 3:42 pm

Story
Roses are blue and Paws hate thorns! Rose is a gorgeous adult Great Dane that adores her humans! Rose and her mate Blue were used as money makers, then kicked to the curb when they could no longer provide a revenue stream. We just can’t imagine!  Rose will happily follow you every chance she gets, loves affection and will let you know if your loving is not up to her standards. This girl still has some peppy zoomies for her age. Like a lot of Danes, she has no sense of personal space or any how big she is so she would do best with older children. She has lived with her mate as well as other doggy foster siblings. She would do best with submissive dogs and a slow supervised intro.  Rose gets super amped for food time and will require an adopter to keep her separate from other fur-friends for treats + meals if any other dogs in the home. Rose is a BIG fan of food. #metoogirl Rose is about 5 years old, 120 pounds and fully vetted. She has left her breeding days behind and has her paws crossed for a new life &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 XL/Guardian breed experience required. Story
Shhhhh, don’t tell Lou she is a 9 year old senior looking for a retirement home ! Lou now sees herself as a mature, spirited soul full of love and life and wants nothing more than to share all this with her human. She prefers no annoying little dogs or cats in her presence and is dog selective with medium to large breed. Lou was abandoned and she is still discovering new ways of living a new life. She can totally entertain herself with the simplest objects like any hard dog toy or chew toy. She is determined and easily persuaded to change direction! She has discovered how great it is to pick a pocket of biscuits and quite proud of herself with that discovery! There’s a lot of discovery to do in Lou’s life yet and looking for that special person to share her adventures with! MAGDRL adopts to eastern NY, eastern PA, NJ, DE, MD, WV and VA only. Please visit our website for adoption procedures and fencing policies.
