Story
Hi, I’m Apollo!! I love to snuggle and have a LOT of energy unlike your typical Great Dane. I am 1 year and 5 months old so I love to play. I am relatively short but am very strong. I am house trained, know basic commands, and am very treat motivated. I could use some training on socialization and walks. I love to talk! It takes me a little until I warm up to anyone new but once I do I will be a snuggle bug and follow you around like a little duckling.

PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.Are you a man who needs a dog? This is your dude right here! Bruno thinks women are ok too, but he definitely prefers men. He loves kids and other dogs too! From his foster mom:Bruno, aka Bruce, Big Bruce, Biggen. Approx. 80lb Lab/Dane Mix. About 2 years old. He’s a man’s dog. That’s all. Ever since we rescued this baby, he has been attached to my husband’s (BJ) hip. Tho, when our 8 year old son comes around, it’s all about him! He’s a gentle giant who thinks he’s a lap dog.  Forgot to let him in the bedroom last night, barking at me in the middle of the night, opened the door, and he’s attached to BJ’s leg on his side of the bed. Stay tuned for more of Bruno’s updates. Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them at one of the following times/locations. Charlie is a wonderful boy that just wants to be part of the family. He is kind, enjoys playing with other dogs and is respectful of cats. Charlie loves nothing more than going on long walks. Although he really enjoys being inside, you can often find him sleeping in the sun in the back yard. He is truly a gentle giant and enjoys taking a nap on the couch.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.Dolly has large Great Dane genes grafted onto a somewhat smaller body. Not that anyone would ever call her small, but you would say she's a manageable size, which is perfect. If you love the Dane look, but aren't sure you could handle a full size model, we have Dolly waiting for you. She is currently only 60 lbs., but that is a bit deceiving, as she is very underweight. We would like to see at least 15 lbs. more on her ribs and we are working on it. She is now getting top quality groceries, something she has never had before. Still a young dog, at only about 2 years old, she is in the process of learning about how to deal with the world around her and she is learning fast. Her foster has some comments to help you understand this 'dog-in-progress. 'She’s nervous around new people and things. She does warm up after a bit. Her initial reaction to people that she doesn’t know is to low growl. She is trying to tell everyone to give her a moment to process the new information. I don’t recommend a house with cats or small animals. She’ tries to chase down all the birds,  and squirrels when we’re outside. I’m fairly confident her life prior to rescue wasn’t a good one. It's heartbreaking seeing a good dog trying to cope with a world she was never shown. UPDATE:I have had her for a month now, and she is learning! I took her to the vet today, and while she was nervous, she did not growl. So there has been improvement on that aspect. She wasn’t super outgoing and wanting everyone’s attention, so definitely stand by the slower to warm up to strangers. I highly suspect she’s been abused. She is highly intelligent and learns new things really fast.  She really has the potential to be an excellent dog, and wants to be loved and please her person. MORE UPDATE: Since being here at my house over a month now I have some new insights into her. She is not dog friendly with all dogs.  She's OK with my male dog, but not so happy with my female.  I've been working on getting her to ignore people on walks and she's doing better. She doesn't like it if strangers get to close when we are out.  In the yard. she's definitely going to need at least a 6 foot fence to keep her safely secured.  I will say, she is house trained and does let you know when she needs to go out. She also does very well in her kennel. She is very smart, and can learn things pretty quickly. She has all her shots and is ready and waiting for the person or family who like bigger dogs, but aren't ready for an actual Goliath. Dolly is a good girl! She is hoping you will want to help her be a good dog and come for her soon.   If you are interested in Dolly, please fill out an application at: https://reachoutrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=4588    Or contact: rorrcanine@gmail.com   *** Click here to sponsor this dog! ***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 23, 2024, 10:55 am

Story
Great Dane lovers? Chapel is a baby girl! She recently joined us from a shelter partner after no one came looking for her.  •Chapel is approx 7 months old, 70 pounds. She has done well with dogs & cats.  •We are requesting “sturdy” children (7+ should be ok) as she is a big girl with no idea of her size. She has done well with children but a little unsure of small fast moving toddlers.  •Chapel is learning basic skills including manners, sit and leash walking. She is also just about crate/house trained!  •This big girl is sweet, loves to snuggle and cuddle on the couch. She has been learning how to puppy, gallops like a baby deer and discovering how to play.  **Applicant must be within 2 hours of Philadelphia area. Must have XL breed experience or similar working breed.   Application: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/NARP/Dog   &#225&#180&#183&#225&#181&#137 &#226&#129&#191&#226&#129&#191 &#225&#181&#137&#203&#161   &#203&#161 &#226&#129&#177 &#225&#182&#156&#225&#181&#137 &#226&#129&#191 &#203&#162&#225&#181&#137 :    ¹&#226&#129&#182¹&#226&#129&#176&#226&#129&#181 &#225&#180&#190&#225&#180&#188   &#225&#180&#174&#225&#181&#146&#203&#163  ³&#226&#129&#176¹ &#225&#181&#129 &#202&#183 &#225&#182&#156 &#202&#176 &#203&#161&#225&#181&#131 &#226&#129&#191 &#225&#181&#136 ,  &#225&#180&#190&#225&#180&#172  ¹&#226&#129&#185&#226&#129&#180&#226&#129&#184&#226&#129&#176   &#225&#180&#183&#225&#181&#137 &#226&#129&#191&#226&#129&#191 &#225&#181&#137&#203&#161   &#203&#161 &#226&#129&#177 &#225&#182&#156&#225&#181&#137 &#226&#129&#191 &#203&#162&#225&#181&#137 :    ¹&#226&#129&#182¹&#226&#129&#176&#226&#129&#181 &#225&#180&#190&#225&#180&#188   &#225&#180&#174&#225&#181&#146&#203&#163  ³&#226&#129&#176¹ &#225&#181&#129 &#202&#183 &#225&#182&#156 &#202&#176 &#203&#161&#225&#181&#131 &#226&#129&#191 &#225&#181&#136 ,  &#225&#180&#190&#225&#180&#172  ¹&#226&#129&#185&#226&#129&#180&#226&#129&#184&#226&#129&#176 July 24, 2024, 5:21 pm
