Olive is a 3-year-old, 125-pound Great Dane who is quite literally a bundle of Great Dane happiness! This big, beautiful girl came to us after numerous concerned families in the neighborhood contacted us about her roaming the area for more than a month. Several kind families had been leaving food and water out for her, and eventually, one family was able to catch her. Now Olive is safe and ready to find the family she was meant to have. â¤ï¸ Olive is an incredibly sweet girl who simply wants to be with her people. She loves being part of the family and has a wonderful, affectionate personality. She is also a bit of a bull in a china closet—she doesn't always realize just how BIG she is! Because of her size and enthusiasm, she would do best in a home with teenagers who can handle her happy, exuberant personality. When Olive arrived, she had absolutely no leash training and would happily drag you along wherever she wanted to go! We have been working with her using a Halti, and she is already doing much better. With continued training and consistency, this big girl is sure to become an even better walking companion. Olive gets along great with other dogs and didn't seem bothered by the cats roaming around the vet clinic, either. She is doing great in her crate and is housebroken with the use of a dog door. After spending so much time on her own, Olive is more than ready to know what it feels like to have a family of her own. She has so much love to give and would be happiest with people who will include her, continue her training, and appreciate all the goofy, joyful Great Dane personality that comes with those 125 pounds! Olive is safe. Olive is happy. And now Olive is ready to be loved for the rest of her life. Please understand you are committing to providing a good home for her entire life (up to 15+ years or more.) You must be committed to housebreaking, age-appropriate enrichment and exercise, leash training, grooming needs, and positive socialization. Her adoption fee is $300. This includes her spay surgery, rabies vaccination, Nobivac® Canine 1-DAPP vaccination, Nobivac® Intra-Trac 3 vaccination, Drontal® Plus, IDEXX SNAP® 4Dx Plus Test, Tri-Heart® Plus chewable tablet, 24PetWatch® microchip, and leash and collar. Our group focuses on assisting open admission shelters in South Texas where over 32,000 dogs and cats are euthanized each year. Our puppies and dogs are completely vetted and live in foster homes. They are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and tested for heartworm disease. All adoptions include one month of flea and heartworm preventative and a leash and collar.
