Story
Hello, hello! I’m Odette, and you are…? I bet you are wondering how a dog like me wound up in the hands of a rescue group. Well, I was found by San Antonio Animal Care Services after being hit by a car. I was in rough shape with a broken front leg as well as having great difficulty using my back end. Fortunately, the shelter provided me with much-needed analgesics and gave me a little time to see how I might recover. After about a week I was able to rise. I won the hearts of the shelter workers and they started their campaign of finding me a rescue or eligible adoption placement. Something about my pitiful face, tattered ears, and bum leg prompted SNIPSA to take a chance on me. Fast forward and x-rays showed not only did I have a fractured radius and ulna, but I also suffered a traumatic tear to my ACL. The kind doctor at STVS put my front leg back together with a metal bone plate and lots of screws (I don’t want to count but I saw the x-ray and wow that’s a lot of metal for a girl like me). Now I spend countless hours as a “couch hog” resting and dreaming about my days of frolicking through green pastures. Down the road, I will have my knee repaired but for now, I am doing quite fine. I love to explore the backyard and have especially enjoyed all our beautiful sunshine. I am putting on some weight and my coat is ever so shiny. Docile, curious, regal, and kind – I am a fantastic specimen of a dog. I love everyone I meet and don’t quite understand that my large head can take up almost your entire lap. My long legs fill up the entire back seat and my shoulders sit well above your knees. I love kids and other dogs alike, and am just happy to be alive. Being a Great Dane mix, I am gentle, loyal and a little goofy. The more you read about my breed, the more you will grow to love us. You may notice that my adoption fee is slightly higher due to all the extra medical care I have received. I have been lucky to have a great team supporting me along the way and look forward to the day when I will find my forever people. So, won’t you consider adopting me? Although you may have to buy a little extra dog food or invest in a family sized dog bed, I promise not to disappoint. I am in it to win it!!!!

Need to find this loving boy a home. He is amazing and super loving, however due to a change in living situations we can no longer give him a good place to live. We are hoping to find someplace that he is happy with and someone that knows the breed well.

Story
Hi! My name is Spike and I'm a really snuggly boy. Let me tell you a few of my favorite things: pets, snuggles, and some more love. I'm really good at matching the energy of the house. If you want to hang out and snuggle, I love that idea. If you want to go for a run or walk, I'd be happy to trot beside you. We're working on my leash skills because sometimes I want to smell something and I don't always warn my foster mom before pulling her with me. But most of the time, I'm a good walking partner. I've never had an accident in the house, so don't worry about that. And I really enjoy playing fetch with my toddler humans. They love to give me kisses and hugs and I love to kiss them back. I do miss my family when they leave the house, but I'm working on enjoying my crate more while they're gone. It's just a little boring for me. I get along well with the pug in my foster home, although I would do well as an only dog too. I'd love to join your family and make lots of fun memories with you.
