Meet Steve! - Steve is about 5 months old and weighs 45 lbs. We guess Steve is a Pitbull/Terrier Mix (Just a Guess as we have no idea on mom or dad). Steve is happy boy who loves to play with the German Shepherd in his foster home. Steve will need another young and playful dog in his forever home. He is amazing with other dogs and very sweet. He is a smart boy with a real excitement for learning. Steve already knows sit, lay down, shake, off, and back. He enjoys running and sniffing around the backyard and is also a big fan of squeaky toys. His favorite game is fetch. Steve is in a foster home with cats and does well with them. Steve follows his foster mom everywhere and is an expert at snuggling. Steve is doing great on his house and crate training. If you are looking for a happy go lucky addition to your family, Steve is your pup. Because he is a puppy, he will require an adopter who is home a good portion of the day to continue his/her training—no exceptions. Steve is up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped and will need to be neutered at the age of 6 months. The Adoption Fee for this puppy $400.00. ***Please note, this pup's immune system will not be fully functioning until about 16 weeks of age and therefore, s/he is not suited for Apartment/Condo living or Town homes without a private fenced yard and will not be able to go to public places where s/he could possibly be exposed to the germs of unvaccinated dogs, such as PetSmart/PetCo and dog parks until s/he is 16 weeks old*** ***You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt from CKRescue*** The adoption fee for this dog is $400, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. This fee DOES NOT INCLUDE spay/neuter if the pup is not already spayed/neutered. If the animal you are adopting is not already spayed/neutered, you will be required to sign a contract legally obligating you to have the animal altered. A $100.00 fee will be returned to the adopter once the animal has been sterilized. We will provide information on this process during the approval process. ***Note that puppy adoption fees most often help generate revenue that goes towards older, special needs animals that need our help. Surgeries, heartworm treatment, boarding costs and/or all things that often result in adoptable dogs and cats being left behind to be euthanized. So, adopting a puppy saves not just one life, but many! ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us, thus we will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** Our organization cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and/or the general appearance of the animal. **Please visit www.caninesandkittiesrescue.org to complete our non-binding application.**

Story
Meet Sequoia: A Survivor Ready for a Second Chance Sequoia didn't have the easiest start. Found as a stray, he was so hungry that he survived on anything he could find—even sauce packets (found in his stomach during his neuter). But those days of starvation are behind him. Though he’s still working on reaching his goal weight, his spirit is bigger than his frame. He is a social butterfly at doggy daycare and gets along great with non-dominant dogs. Because of his history, he’s currently a "student" in training, learning that he never has to worry about his next meal again. He’s looking for a patient family who will celebrate his progress and offer him the unconditional love he’s been searching for. Story
Zoey's personality is as big as her stature, and she is sure to bring joy and smiles to her forever family. She can be a bit timid at first, but once she gets comfortable, Zoey is affectionate and sweet and goofy. She loves her stuffie toys, especially her chicken, and will bring it to you with her tail and whole body wagging. She loves a big soft bed and a good butt scratch. She walks well on her leash and enjoys all the smells of the outdoor world. She is house trained. Please come meet Zoey and let her show you how wonderful she is. Good with dogs, Not good with cats,
Story
Daisy is the epitome of ‘I’m just a girl’—a giant love bug, smart, curious, a little bit of a drama queen, and lives for a good snack. She is learning (and doing great!) with leash manners, has “sit” down pat, and is a social butterfly! Since she has perfected her Great Dane lean, she’d do best in a home with kids that are old enough to hold their own—only because she isn’t quite aware that she is a miniature horse. She’s been around kids 7+ and was inducted into their girl gang, so I’m taking that to be a great sign she’d do amazing with 2 legged siblings. Daisy has lived the good life being a stay at home couch dog in foster care and doesn’t mind being on her own during the days, but has told me she would thrive being around more people during the day for lunch dates in the middle of their wfh day—social butterfly, remember! On the practical side of things, she’d be ok in an apartment but better in a house. No large yard needed. She’s low-moderate on the energy scale and enjoys leisurely walks and will play toy for a bit before chilling out. She settles pretty easily and can be crated, but doesn’t NEED to be. Housebroken, doesn’t show signs of resource guarding, has not been exposed to cats or small dogs. Watching Daisy heal, grow, and having her personality emerge has been such a treat—the big, high value treats. If it were up to Grandpa & Grandma Foster, she would already have a new forever home—unfortunately, their current dogs feel differently. She’ll be an amazing addition to any family and bring you so much joy! Daisy is now available. Story
Winston was rescued as a puppy living life in a crate. He was brought home to relatives who are both wheelchair-bound. This puppy grew into a Great Dane, lol! Winston is currently more than his adult owners can physically keep up with. He is trained to an electronic collar so he can run around his country yard and play with the other dog from the house. He is good with kids and loves to sit on the couch like a human, with his front paws resting on the ground. He is a big happy gentle giant looking for a home that can help him expend his energy better. He is loves his toys and would especially love a person to play with him and a lap that he can sit on, lol! If you’re looking for a big gentle giant, please contact irondawgs13@gmail.com for adoption application.
