If you are interested in adopting this dog,  please fill out an Adoption Questionnaire at  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/43315/generic.  You can learn about the adoption process by visiting: http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/howtoadopt/.  Dog's Name:   Bogie  (BOG0523OWSMN)Estimated Breed:   Pointer / Great Dane MIXApproximate Age:   5-6 yearsApproximate Weight:  94 lbsCurrently Living at:   BoardingAdoption Fee:   $400DOG'S DESCRIPTION:  Bogie is a delightful and energetic guy with a lot of love to give! His enthusiasm for people, playing, and hugging makes him a real "Mr. Personality." He enjoys attention and soft toys, brings joy and laughter to everyone he meets!Given his size and energy level,we reccomend a home without small children. A nice yard is a must. This will provide him with the space he needs to romp and play to his heart's content. Bogey needs to learn boundaries and personal space with other dogs and he would really t benefit from a home that can provide him with training and guidance in socializing with his canine friends.Bogey's affectionate nature and goofball personality makes him a wonderful potential family member for the right household. It's clear that he just needs someone who understands his needs and breed, and is willing to provide the necessary guidance and training to ensure he thrives in a new home. If someone is willing to give him a chance, they will be rewarded with a loyal and entertaining companion. Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.       Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. Story
Tall Titan, is a strong and remarkable  Warrior, a dog that has fought to be alive and walking  today on this earth.  He has willed himself to come from the depths of pain and starvation to become this handsome boy that you see right now.  He is our Super Hero Pup and our example of a creature that has never given up even when it would have been easier to just go to sleep and never wake up.  When Titan came to a rescue lady’s house that Critter Cavalry knows, this boy was malnourished and just a skeleton of the puppy he should be as a Great Dane.  The lady has a love for the Danes and she asked CCR to please take him into our rescue before she fell in love and couldn’t let him go.  She had enough dogs and just felt the temptation to keep him was too great.  We agreed and soon Titan was ours to raise and get prepped for a new home and family.  Shortly afterwards his foster family noticed he was struggling to walk and his joints were inflamed. Titan was taken to several vets before receiving the diagnosis of  Hypertrophic osteodystrophy (HOD). He has been put on a regimen of medications, high calorie food and hydrotherapy and is now running, jumping and playing with other dogs. His favorite things to do are play with toys, run and nap in the sun. Titan is a large dog and will do best in a home with another large dog or two that he will be able to play with. He will continue to need medication intermittently for some time and to be followed by a veterinarian.  If you have large breed dog experience and are willing to take on this fellas special needs please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue. He is not house trained to hold longer than 4 hours.  He needs to eat separately at mealtimes and he needs to learn better how to play with his toys in a group setting if there are other dogs.  If he is the only dog then there is no special monitoring.  Titan rides like a champ in the car or truck and he is definitely crate trained with good dog/name recall.  He would be easier to watch in the yard if you had a real physical fence installed since he likes to wander off out of curiosity.   Please email Critter Cavalry at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested.  He is great with young children/boys that are rough and tumble and lots of noise. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 21, 2024, 6:44 pm

Story
Laylah is a beautiful pure bred Great Dane that is 129 pounds and 4yrs young.  This girl lost her home because the other female Great Dane was jealous of her and jumping on her to create a fight.  The family could not afford for them to seriously hurt each other. It was best to have Laylah leave the home for her own safety. She is totally vetted and  spayed and is up to date on vaccines.  She came in scared and unsure of everything because of the turmoil she has been experiencing at her home.  After some work and socializing, she has come out of her shell and she loves to be by her person's side and will make a great companion for someone.  She would most likely need to be an only dog since she is still suffering from the fear of being attacked again by another dog.  She does not show fear to all dogs…but some of the larger ones she is defensive at the moment. She hasn't been off leash around cats but seems to not mind them walking by, even appeared playful through the glass with a cat in the cat colony. She has done well meeting new people but gets nervous if her secure shelter person leaves the room.  She shows this by waiting nose to the door until her person comes back. She walks great on a leash and hops right in the car and rides well. She loves to lay on her stuffies and play with her toys, just playing never destroys them. She will carry around the toy in her mouth just to show everyone what she has. In the mornings she gets the pony girl zoomies where she just yeehawws around the yard until she wears out then she is pretty reserved the rest of the day hanging out behind the shelter desk. When too many dogs are going in out it stresses her so she gets put up in an office until things settle down.  She doesn't seem to mind kids and she will greet them gently. Another plus is that she is also housebroken.

Story
Looking for a loveable goofball to complete your pack? Atlas, a stunning 7-month-old Great Dane/Pitbull mix, is ready to steal your heart! This energetic pup is a bundle of playful energy and cuddles. He gets along famously with other dogs and, according to his previous home, is an absolute sweetheart with kids! While unfazed by the shelter cats, a slow introduction to feline friends is recommended. Atlas is a big personality in a growing package (think long walks and even longer cuddles!). He's an eager learner waiting for his perfect family (or foster family!) to help him blossom into the best dog he can be. Are you ready for some goofy adventures with Atlas? Then apply to meet him using the link below! bit.ly/4d7XoKd Adoption area: We prioritize homes within 60 miles of Silver Spring, MD. Story
Meet Keeley! This absolutely gorgeous noble-headed two year old Great Dane mix is 78 pounds of gentle affectionate sweetness. She loves all people, gets along with the resident dog, walks well on a lead, is house trained, potty trained and can totally be trusted uncrated in the house. She knows basic commands, sleeps happily through the night on her bed, and she LOVES car rides - also loves walks but is not super high energy. Keeley is "just perfect" according to foster mom - she is very personable and affectionate and would love a home with as much attention and love as she can get. Her puppies have found their forever families and it's Keeley's turn - she is SO ready for a family of her own. Apply now for this special girl! Keeley is up to date on vaccines and will be spayed when she has gained weight and is fully recovered from having puppies. The adoption fee for this dog is $425 which includes routine vetting and spay/neuter. PetConnect Rescue cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. Story
Calling all Dane lovers, here is Luke! This gorgeous tuxedo-colored Great Dane boy is 85 pounds, ~4 years old, and affectionate, loving, and friendly. He has been wonderful with his foster cat and dog siblings, male and female (especially loves the 6 month old puppy), and he was raised in a home with toddlers. Like most of his breed mix, Luke bonds hard with his people and will be happiest in a home where someone is home a lot of the time. Having a canine sibling would be an added bonus for this gentle giant, but is not required. He walks well on a lead and loves to play on the backyard and is a joy to have around the house. Apply now for this special boy! Luke is neutered and up-to-date on vaccines. The adoption fee for this dog is $425 which includes routine vetting and spay/neuter.
