History: 🧡 From Texas to Midwest 🤠—- A group of deserving dogs was recently welcomed as part of our Texas Transport Program! A program launched to make an impactful difference for our partner shelters in Texas facing the overpopulation of animals with limited resources and low adoption rates. We are excited to help these southern gems find loving forever homes to call their own! A Note from the Foster: Goliath is the definition of a gentle giant. He catches the attention of all who sees him with his gorgeous white lion locks and him being so tall. He is a big calm and low energy boy! He is settling into rescue where he currently co-exists with dogs of all sizes, cats, and kids and has had zero issue. He has not had any accidents, sleeps quietly and soundly in his kennel, and rides in the car well. He is a beautiful dog with a heart of gold who will thrive with a family comfortable and confident around a dog of his size. He is available as a foster to adopt as he will receive a dental in rescue (he is already neutered) as well as continue to monitor typical age-wear on his joint and hips. He overall is not showing much pain symptoms but occasionally especially when in his crate laying down overnight and he may get up sore (our vet team is working on his joint management as well in his older age). Goliath is an A+++ boy who hopes meet you soon!

Shadow is a 3-year-old Great Pyrenees mix who came to PCHS when his owner could no longer care for him. He’s a big guy at about 76 pounds, but don’t let his size fool you, Shadow is mellow, gentle, and very sweet. He enjoys people and is friendly with everyone he meets, but Shadow would do best as the only dog in the home. He’s content soaking up attention from his humans and living the laid-back life. Cassie goes into her crate on command and is fully house trained, with no accidents. She will let you know she needs to go out by going to the door and giving a soft whine. She listens very well and reliably comes when her name is called. Cassie walks nicely on a leash without pulling. She also knows how to sit and shake! Hi everyone! I’m Courtney! I’m a spunky, hilarious and adventurous little girl!I LOVE TO PLAY! Fetch? Yes. Wrestling with dog friends? Yes. Chasing kids around? Yes. Squeaky toys by myself? Yes. I love to run, in the yard or on leash. I will need a little bit more training not to pull because running is so fun. I also like to announce the presence of other fur friends when I’m out walking. But I’m friendly, and don’t bark a lot otherwise.Food is awesome, I love food. And treats. And ice cubes. I’m crate trained, potty trained, and love a good snuggle and nap after I get my energy out. Meeting new people is also fun. I’m working very hard to sit and not jump up to give hugs.I came up to Minnesota from Alabama in September at 10 weeks old. I was a “single” puppy - no mom or litter mates. Everyone fell in love with me because they say I’m so gosh darn cute. The people who loved me up at transport noticed I had one eye that had some issues. Long story short, I had surgery, I can kind of see out of it but it’s not perfect, and it doesn’t slow me down one bit. I get one eye drop a day and I’m good to go.I’m looking for my forever people, who can match my energy and include me in all the fun they’re having. I don’t need a dog sibling or a fence but I sure would love both! Are we are match?
