Ash is a wonderful, big, and gentle giant. He thinks he is a lap dog and forgets how big he really is, but he loves to cuddle. He loves to take it easy and go for short walks, but if it’s winter he could lay outside all day. He is a wonderful giant guardian.

Story
This beautiful, loving girl is Ella a 3 yr old, 98# female Great Pyrenees (or mix) . She is sweet and loving with people, good with dogs and cats - we haven"t seen her with children, but with her nice temperament we expect she would be good with respectful kids 5 yr and up. Her foster mom works from home, and puts Ella outside at 4-6 hr intervals Ella doesn't ask to go out to do her business. Not a chewer, doesn't initiate barking but might join in if one of the resident dogs bark. Sleeps on the floor in your room, and doesn't go up on the furniture. Loves to ride in the car just lays down until you get to your destination (which she hopes is the dog park, where she can run and play with all the dogs that are there). Ella sits on command, comes when called, and doesn't pull on leash. She is fine being brushed, and isn't shedding much at all. No interest in playing with toys. Not a chewer. Ella is calm, easy going, and eager to please. Puts her head in you lap, or gives you a paw when she needs attention. Ella attaches to her person quickly, and is devoted to them, which is ideal in most situations, but Ella has separation anxiety. Her adoptive home must have another friendly dog, and we recommend Ella bond with that dog before she forms that tight bond with you... we can give you tips on how to do that, and that way Ella wont feel so abandon when you leave the house. Her person should be home much of the time retired, or work from home. This is manageable, and she is doing well in her current foster home. Ella has been spayed, and is current on distemper, rabies, lepto and Bordetella vaccinations. A heartworm test was positive, and she was treated for that in May. A recheck heartworm test will be needed in 6-9 months (October of this year-January of next year) , and Second Chance will cover that cost at your clinic. You are welcome to take/use the large plastic crate she is accustomed to, and return it to Second Chance when you no longer need it. Her microchip is registered to Second Chance. Ella can be adopted for $350 please call 651-771-5662 with questions, or if you would like to adopt her. How To Adopt Ella was listed as ADOPTABLE by Second Chance Animal Rescue How can I adopt Ella? Story
Meet Dassa Dog, a 3-month-old Great Pyrenees mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart. This sweet girl is full of puppy energy and loves playing with her foster family's resident dog and cats. Whether she is zooming around the yard, carrying her favorite little stick, or squeaking her favorite stuffed toy, Dassa is always ready for fun.Dassa is settling into home life beautifully and is learning all about being a beloved family companion. She has been doing really well with potty training and, so far, has had no accidents in the home. She is also working on crate training. She may whine a little when first going into her crate, but she settles down nicely. She already knows "sit" and is eager to learn, especially when treats are involved. One of Dassa's most adorable features is her lazy eye, and she has the cutest habit of tilting her head whenever she hears an interesting noise. She is as sweet as can be and loves attention from her people. While she enjoys short walks, she benefits even more from mental enrichment like toys, training, and games to keep her busy.Dassa gets along well with other dogs once she has a chance to warm up, and she has done great living with cats. She likes to play with them but is gentle and not aggressive. Because she does have some food guarding, a home with older children would likely be the best fit.A fenced yard would be wonderful for this playful pup, but it is not required as long as she has safe supervision or a tie out while she continues learning. She would also do best with a family where someone is home more often, although she does well in her crate while her foster family is away. She may bark briefly when she first goes into her crate or when she wants to play, but it is short lived. If you are looking for a goofy, affectionate, toy loving puppy who will keep you smiling every day, Dassa might be the perfect addition to your family. If you are interested in Dassa, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $550. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.

Story
Waverly is the softest, floofiest, most affectionate girl ever. She's an absolute love bug who adores getting and giving affection to everyone she meets, no matter the species. In an ideal world, she would spend some time galloping around outside with a dog or human companion a few times a day, then crash at your feet or in your lap for many hours of well-earned naps. She's growing quickly and doesn't quite understand how to coordinate all her limbs yet when she's running, especially with those big paws of hers, so she has some pretty hilarious wipeouts when "sprinting" around the yard. Like any Pyrenees, she definitely prefers cooler weather and will be an amazing partner for winter walks, snowshoeing, skiing, anything you could possibly want to do outside. She's doing great with potty training and she LOVES treats and is smart enough to earn lots of them! This girl is going to be an amazing companion for any Great Pyrenees lover, she can't wait to meet you and win your heart! Waverly is estimated to be 14 weeks old and 20 lbs. Since we dont know the dogs actual genetics, this is just a guess on breed and size when grown. All dogs have had a vet examination, are up to date on all vaccinations, have been given dewormer and heartworm prevention. Dogs over 7 months have been heartworm tested. If you are interested in meeting this dog please complete the adoption application on our website at https://safehandsrescue.org/adoption-process/ and then we can contact you about setting up a meeting. We are also holding the following upcoming adoption events! Please note: All dogs/puppies will not be at every event, and some may find their home prior to the event. If you are interested in a specific animal, please check our Facebook page for confirmed attendance the morning of the event: https://www.facebook.com/safehandsrescue/ You do not need to have a Facebook account to check the Safe Hands Facebook page for attendance. We hope to see you at an upcoming Meet & Greet!
