Story
We are looking to rehome our lovely Murphy due to realizing that he needs more space (farm or large yard with a fence) and (preferably) to be in a home with another big dog that he can play with. Murphy is a year old and 72lbs. He is a very sweet boy who wants to be outside and playing and/or to be around his people. He is very smart. We have been working on commands such as sit, stay, come, place and kennel. He's still trying to get a hang of "come" but otherwise is learning quite well. He is getting more comfortable with his kennel and sleeps there at night and will often go in and lay down when we are around. He cannot yet be off leash as he will run. He gets several walks a day and does quite well on a leash. He does really well with our other 4lb dog but sad because she won't play. Our cat will not come out of the basement, as he is too scared, and therefore we don't know how well the two of them would do. Murphy is a great dog and just needs a more fitting space/home.

Story
Frannie is a very sweet, gentle girl who's favorite thing is to play with other pups. She loves to run around outside with friends. She is good with other dogs and hasn't met cats yet so that is an unknown. Frannie is doing great with houstraining and if kept on a schedule does her business outside. Frannie's foster family is still getting to know her so updates will be coming soon but if her picture caught your eye, please fill out an application to learn more about her!        Frannie is estimated to be 5 months old and 30 lbs. Since we don’t know the dog’s actual genetics, this is just a guess on breed and size when grown. All dogs have had a vet examination, are up to date on all vaccinations, have been given dewormer and heartworm prevention. Dogs over 7 months have been heartworm tested. If you are interested in meeting this dog please complete the adoption application on our website at http://www.safehandsrescue.org under Adopt and then we can contact you about setting up a meeting. We are also holding the following upcoming adoption events! Sunday, April 14, 2-4pm: Forgotten Star Brewing, 38 Northern Stacks Drive, Fridley, MN 55421 https://www.facebook.com/events/427983852940819 Saturday, April 20, 11am-1pm Bachman's: 6010 Lyndale Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55419 https://www.facebook.com/events/1446411136295269 Animal attendance is subject to change based on their availability. WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Harley - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! My name is Harley and it comes from the Old English origin meaning 'Hare Meadow', which represents a peaceful and serene image. Just nothing like seeing a Pyr laying in the yard watching! Unfortunately my elderly owner is not able to care for me any longer but I'm trying not to let it get me down as I look for another family to adopt. Did you know that I came from royalty? The Pyrenees breed came from France where we made our way up from being a peasant farmers dog to the royal court being named the royal dog of France in 1675. Even Queen Victoria had a Pyr. We are strong willed and can sometimes be stubborn but more importantly we are affectionate, patient, confident, fearless and gentle. It is said that we wouldn't make a good breed for first timers but if you're aware of the negative traits (sometimes stubborn & lots of hair) along with the awesome good traits, we could definitely make it work. As a youngster at only around a year and a half old, I do have some basic obedience training, am well mannered, I don't jump up unless invited and have a sweet, loving warm nature that just adores getting 'good boys' from my people. I am a big boy of snowy white fluff. I will need several weekly brushings to keep my royal self tangle free and looking dapper and the vacuum will be an extension of your arm with me around but the reward of my adoring love for you will sooooo be worth it!! A couple of daily 45 minute walks a day should be enough to keep me happy. With that daily exercise in I can do quite well in town with a yard or in the country. I fall into the 3 G category which is Gorgeous, Gentle and Giant. Instinctively nurturing with the flock or family, we do make great family members. Just make sure the couch is big enough for sharing!!! My breed tend to love being with the family and are content to lay at or on your feet or curled up with you on that big enough couch. I'm here to adopt me a family and since you're reading this you must being missing something special in your life too, could it possibly be...ME?!!

Grits and determination!! That is the saying, right? To get anywhere you must have grits and determination?? Grits are good for you, ask any Southern mama :) You guessed it, my name is Grits and I have a LOT of determination! I came from the pound with HORRIFIC injuries related to a multiple dog attack :( And boy I was in pain and had horrible infections and was so so skinny and just sad... But the rescue peeps fixed me up! It took several weeks of LOVE, good nutrition, wound care and "heart repair" to return my zest for life and to see the glimmer of hope in my eyes... Now I am all fixed up, healthy and happy and READY for you!! Don't ever let me be out on the streets again, fighting off other dogs to live. Give me your COUCH, an air conditioner and lots of love and treats and I will be yours FUREVER!!! And speaking of fur, well, you know I am a Great Pyrenees and we SHED great amounts, so you must love me more than my hair!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)

Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Lenny - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! Hey y'all, it's Lenny here, as in Lenny Kravitz! Yep, I was named after the multi-talented performer as I have many talents of my own. 'I Belong To You' would be my ultimate dream come true. And, 'Are You Gonna Go My Way', where you can be 'My Cab Driver' so we can run thru those 'Fields Of Joy'! Oh my, yep, what dreams are made of!! I'm an energetic youngster of only around 10 months but I have a very gentle soul that does very well with the other foster pups here at the rescue even the young puppies and the itty bitty little ones. I play very gently with them. I am a very happy happy boy that is easy going but I do have a slightly goofy side to me also. The entertainer side of me is the happiest when I get to see smiles and hear chuckles from my people! I probably won't get much bigger then my current 55lbs which I might say is a pretty pawsome size. I am always ready and willing to tackle any and all of those action packed adventures we'll be going on but at the end of the day, I'm also a perfect size for getting my cuddles on! Oh yeah, you know what I'm talking about....belly rubs, ear scratches, a lap to lay my head!! Are you searching for a multi-talented fella? One that will gladly be by your side on action adventures along with your daily going on's? If you 'Believe In Me' 'U Will Know' I'm the boy for you!! You only need to stop what you're doing and fill out my adoption application and I'll do the rest!!

Story
Hey! We are the shoe litter. We are named for our favorite shoe brands. I'm Doc, as in Doc Martens. I may look sweet and tender, but I'm part Pyrenees and Anatolian on one side and the other half is Malamute with some hound thrown in. So, I'm ready to stand strong with you. If life knocks you down, we'll bounce back together. I'm as Tough as You and ready to be by your side! Just take that first step to try me on. We could be a great fit! If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to request an appointment to meet me. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. No need to call to find out about me, you can ask questions on the application or email questions to info@polkcountyhumanesociety.org. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and Minneapolis, MN areas twice a month. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual and we will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veteinarian ($35). Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! ##1972244##
